Baldur literally lost his mind over a few illusions in helhiem. So Ares like he did with kratos in GOW1 final fight can literally trap Baldur in the illusion world and defeat him without killing him. Ares also got a lot of other powers like summoning monsters, changing into a giant, teleportation etc. I really can't see how norse gods are stronger than greeks.
