    Hi, my son left a few shirts here when he left home that are good as new. (He’s into fitness, and had just outgrown them). I didn’t want to throw them out, and had an idea I could refashion them. I just needed someone to give me a few pointers in the right direction.
    Well done. The finished article looks amazing.

    This is one of the best men's short to blouse refashions I've seen! I saved a few of my late husband's shirts. This look very pretty in plaid! Thanks

    You're so clever, I love it, thank you. One question, did the shirt have a pleat at the back?

    How can anyone not sit on the floor while doing this? When I was young...no problem. Now I cant stand to get down on the floor to cut out stuff...I hate that

    • @HisDearMissK
      @HisDearMissK 4 роки тому

      @Patricia Malone I also have trouble getting up off the floor sometimes, so I have used my kitchen island, kitchen counter tops, dining room table, the pool table, the bed, the couch, the ironing board, my own lap...lol anything that's flat. I also have lots of mirrors throughout the house and keep pins in bathroom, living room, kitchen for when inspiration hits. I don't have a dedicated sewing area so I set up my machine in different rooms, sometimes just a little table in the living room so I can watch TV! Motivation through Mobility

    do you actually sew over the pins?

  • @beverlybruton2271
    @beverlybruton2271 5 років тому +1

    Cute shirt idea! I'm going to try this. Be careful not removing pins as you sew. You really should remove them as the needle could hit the pin and break off.

    I didn't know sewing on the needle possible. Is there machine that can be done.?
    I have very basic brother sewing machine I use it two time a year. Because of needle break. Always.

    • @HisDearMissK
      @HisDearMissK 4 роки тому

      My mother always sewed over the pins without pulling them out. You can do it, but it is risky of breaking your needle. Works better with longer stitch lengths

    Cute! Looks great😁
    I have a lot of clothing I have hung onto for 5 or 6 years now that are to big on me and I hope to someday learn how to sew well enough to adjust them to my current size. I basically went from wearing a women’s 4-6 to wearing a Jr.’s size 3
    In pants. I’m square hipped, thin framed and fairly flat chested, 32” inseam, long legs and short waisted, which is already a hard figure ( or lack of) to find proper fitting closes off the racks. Thank you for your tips, that shirt looks nice on you. Do you have and videos on using a dress form?

    • @keepsmilin468
      @keepsmilin468 6 років тому +3

      shree I've sewn over pins for years. Heavy fabrics or high speed may cause problems (breaking needles or skipped stitches) and, of course, you have to remove pins for a serger. Your machine may not be able to. My machines can sew over pins and so can the one in the video.

      That's how my grandma taught me. If the pins are exactly perpendicular, any goid machine should fo on over. However, if a pin is parallel or at an angle- it can ruin the needle.
