Even though this is an older video I'd like to add something which might be of value: If you're looking for reasonably priced staple food items in good quality then you should also check out Turkish super markets. Most German cities of at least medium size have one and they're a great place to buy stuff like rice, beans and other food items in bulk. Many a student who had to bridge a week or two because of some unexpected expense survived because you can buy 5 kilos of rice, beans and some canned tomatos at 10€ at the Turkish super market.
You 've done very well !! Hi from Dresden . and coule of tips for incoming students : 1. Always check official holidays ( whole groceries are close at these times ) ready for it ! 2. Always take your bag pack or shopping bag when you go to market. 3. Last but not least follow and subscribe this channel . This guy know his job .
Germans normally first go to Aldi or Lidl to buy basics and afterward go to real or EDEKA to buy special brands or specialities which Aldi will not have due to their limited selection. You can save about 30%. However, meanwhile also Real and EDEKA have always one brand which is as cheap as Aldi.
