The music is bang average, when you compare it to a game like Final Fantasy 16. The soundtrack in Diablo 4 was my biggest criticism. Brilliant game, let down by a mediocre soundtrack. I was expecting something along the lines of Ave Satani by Gerry Goldsmith for boss fights during the campaign. There wasn't any memorable boss fight music throughout the whole campaign, a lot of the music in the game is quite frankly grating.
@@karl343 The Ashava boss fight is a banger, what are you talking about? The Kyovashad theme is perfect, "By Three They Come" is iconic, "Confrontation"... There are so many memorable songs.
I think we can all appreciate the cinematic masterpiece of the Diablo 4 soundtrack. Nothing beats that entrance and final boos music. THE CHILLS DOWN MY NECROMANCER SPINE
For me it was the first time the Ashava world boss fight music really kicked in during the beta. So epic but not overstated like a lot of generic "epic" fantasy music.
@@Jurand80 Seriously, now, let's be real. How on earth can you top the sheer awesomeness of the classic and timeless Tristram theme? But here's the deal: what's deemed 'iconic' varies from one generation of gamers to the next. It's all about their personal groove and what ignites this little tingly sensation in their hearts.
@@dunwanto Yeah but you can always use it again. Is like Star Wars theme, Our grandpas know it, our parents know it, we know it, our kids know it, and probably their kids will know it as well. As soon as it hits, you said the franchise. That's the Town Tristram theme for Diablo, or at least it should be IMO.
@@LuisRdzG10 You're totally right, I love the idea. Personally, I'd like to see the theme slightly refreshed for the new installment of the series, but without losing its vibe or atmosphere.
The music of Diablo 4 is stellar. With so many callbacks to earlier games in notes and tones, it makes it fit in to the universe and at the same time create something new.
i love the D1 soundtrack to this day. it was so eerie and creatures screams in the tunnels and in the halls and victims of them screaming too out of nowhere. sounds, not possible to figure out what it is and you dont want to know what it is ^^. i miss this feeling in the other soundtracks. even if D4 is greatly amazing in so many ways. love nyrelle´s theme
Incredible work and job well done to all involved. Now if we could just get a live performance of “Kyovashad” and “Daughter of Hatred” that would make the rest of the year for me!
the music is absolutely INCREDIBLE and it was so cool to get an insight into the tech and the "stems"! I've had the kyovashad theme on loop ever since!
Outstanding work. I noticed the quality of the soundtrack as soon as I entered the game in the beta. I am impressed by the immersion it brings. Congratulations to all the artists for this piece of art.
the complete soundtrack is on my phone now... i didnt put new music on my phone in years... listening to the soundtrack is phenomenal !! Realy realy great job...
To me the original Diablo soundtrack will always be the most iconic of the series and was the real backbone of that game's appeal and success. The Diablo 4 soundtrack, however, is both beautiful and effective.
love coming back to some places, just turn off all audio, just have the music and atmosphere. They did really great job, cant wait for more gameplay music from them.
The music is great. Diablo IV is one of those rare games where I haven't turned the music off, as I do in most games. The music is part of the environment rather than something just laid on top, if that makes any sense.
I'm listening to this soundtrack even while I'm not playing. Great game, with an even better music. My heartfelt compliments to everyone involved in this work of beauty.
wish we had more d2 soundtracks remade. they are instant classics to so many of us... its like.. imagine final fantasy only having 1 chocobo theme song. never carrying it over.. imagine mario with no remakes.... we have those classic tracks in diablo... but none of them remade, blows my mind.
The music and sounds are absolutely amazing and they get the player in the atmosphere of the game immediately. Nyx did a fantastic job and I would have also liked to know the names of the flute/guitar guy etc or their band names, instead of them being just "generic flute guy".
For me personally, you absolutely knocked it out of the park. It has those D1 and D2 vibes. Ambient and moody and sinister. Bleak but radical. 10/10, please continue this through the expansions.
I'm actually glad how this soundtrack turned out. It indeeds has some minor vibes from Diablo 1/2 but just a little snipptes here and there. Otherwise it is own thing. The tone is great. I especially love tracks composed by Ted. Great job overall guys!
The music is absolutely amazing. I had been repeatedly listening to the soundtrack on UA-cam any time I wasn’t playing D4 (cuz I’m ADDICTED 😅🙈) before I actually bought it basically hours before this video came out. Seeing the process solidifies my decision. They fully deserve my money. Huge kudos to the sound team 👏👏👏 Also shout out to NYX! 🤘
Something that seemed strange to me is that in the entire video Matt Uelmen was not mentioned, that is, they mention that to create these themes they were based a lot on the music of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, which is correct, it is very noticeable in each piece .. and precisely the music of D1 and D2 was created entirely by Matt, that's why it seems strange to me that he isn't even named. even so, this Diablo IV soundtrack is MAGNIFICENT. a great homage to Diablo 1 and Diablo 2.
I freakin love this! The amount of detail and work you guys put into making the soundtrack is mind blowing 🤯. I already loved the soundtrack but I appreciate it even more now.
My biggest problem with the music is that it wasn't on Spotify from release of D4!!! It is absolutely astoungly awesome! I heard the Diablo 2 inspiration from the first track with the chosen instruments and I am so happy with how these maestros did their job so superbly. I cannot wait to listen to this soundtrack in all other games I play. No one did it as good as these guys.
Great music! I’ve been loving it. Also tried to figure out why the music in areas never felt the same way twice. Cool way they shifted up their tracks!
Diablo 4 has one of the most well-designed soundtracks I've heard in a long time and everytime I just stand around in a town I'm actively aware of the music and enjoy it along time before continuing in the game. It's amazing to see the team behind it and the "stems" are an amazing addition, I hope to see these kinds of things more often in the industry. Can't wait for a physical release of the soundtrack, I'd 100% down for a vinyl special edition! :)
Mr Lame A calls everything mediocre so he doesnt have to learn other things than D2 for easy clicks and money. He found his niche to get payd and doesnt want anything else to succeed. What a sad person.
The music in the game is outstanding. Props to the team!

@@icecreamassassin3006completely agree. track is hard af without necessarily being hard af.
That Ashava boss music in the server slam made me battle 15 min straight. Masterpiece. Nice seeing flute guy here btw.
this track is best!
So you didn't kill her? Cause 15 minutes is all you get lol
Agreed. And the music ramps up when she's halfway killed and these screeching violins kick in. It's fantastic.
D4 music is a big 10/10 for me! You guys did amazing
To the whole audio team, you did an absolutely fantastic job! I thought D4 was in need of Uelmen for great music, but I was proven wrong!
I absolutely love the music in D4! Music and Art are the Peak of Diablo
The Lilith theme is incredible and they really did nail the atmosphere of each zone.
The soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal. I think the Ashava boss fight music is one of the best boss tracks I’ve ever heard.
The OST is awesome.
True heir for Uelmen music.
I really love how they harken back to the original Diablo guitar theme riff in several pieces. Really nostalgic and fitting.
Music is done really well. I was particularly impressed when you fight a world boss; the music syncs up with the attacks and it's quite dramatic.
Absolutely 10/10 work. One of the best soundtrack I've listened in 20 years including the movie soundtracks.
To me the "Town" Theme of Tristram in Diablo 1 is the most iconic OST in the franchise
Absolutely. We're missing a main theme like that in D4. Nothing iconic here.

The music is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been listening to it all week at work.
Totally nailed this soundtrack. I'm addicted to it. Hasn't been a game soundtrack this good since Mick Gordon's Doom.
