  • Hi Everyone,
    I've been constantly asked about tutorial videos. Firstly let me say tutorial videos is not an area of my expertise so please be kind. I decided to put this video together of simple but not necessarily obvious tips for getting around the Korg Wavestate. These would have saved me a lot of time at the start and I hope it can help some other users.

    Marc, finally…my Wavestate is upgraded to 2.0.1 and the librarian/editor is communicating via usb… just a few minutes ago, I’ve finally installed Vol 1 of your custom sounds… Thank you for a clear explanation here which makes an intimidating process to someone not very computer literate like me so much easier. I appreciate your clear explanation every bit as much as your skill and craftsmanship in sound creation. I’ve got your volumes 2-5 to install - and even though I’ve been impressed listening to your sounds online, hearing them and using them is something else! ❤️ Thanks again 👏

    I love this machine. And your accent is killer too 😉 Def my new favorite piece of gear. I create something cool every time I pick it up. Sooo powerful. Light enough to grab and play on the couch. Full sized keys. It’s almost like a groove box. 4-parts split and layered. I like to put 2 rhythm part on the lower register, 1 bass part, and 1 arp, pad, sequence. You can use the hold function to make each sequence loop. I liked the vst when I got it in 2004 but this is waaay more powerful. The interface will confound many people but that’s ok. It makes you think in a different way about how you work and create. Thanks for the tips!

      @@Angelstarscotland ... I know, I'm just frustrated - I ordered mine back in mid January (along with an MPC ONE) and then last week I found out that the supplier (Dawsons Music) had gone bust. So now I'm both out of pocket (waiting on the c-card to hopefully refund) AND I've had to re-order these again, with another company, and now I'm at the back of the queue again. To add insult to injury (without prejudice) the offending company has ceased trading, dumped its debts, sold itself (so they say) and then slightly changed it's name before restarted, trading like nothing has changed AND are spending loads on UA-cam adverts... adverts as seen on this very video it just so happens ! Annoying!

    • @Angelstarscotland
      @Angelstarscotland  4 роки тому +1

      No that's total sxxx. I understand why you're frustrated. I actually had a very similar story with my electric supplier. They signed me up to a new contract and owed me about £300 in overpayments. They then went into admin didn't tell and were bought over by a new company. I'm now trying to get my £300 from the new company.... I'm not a fan of the adverts either but I finally had enough hours of viewing to monetise the channel.(started yesterday) I'm going to see how it goes with the ads but I'm not expecting to make much and if it causes any hassle they will be gone. When you finally get your Wavestate if you need any help let me know.

    • @Angelstarscotland

      PS I also have a free Wavestate patch for you when it comes, it was for the Facebook group but I know you don't use facebook. I'll drop it in an email again as you regularly contribute to my channel.

    • @AxelsoftMusic
      @AxelsoftMusic 4 роки тому +1

      @@Angelstarscotland Thanks Marc, appreciate the support and the free patches... good luck with your issue to. The good news is my new Minilogue XD arrived at the start of the week (a consolation purchase from my usual/reliable supplier [deleted] while I await the other items) so I'll be giving that a try tonight along with the free patches you sent me. Re the adverts, keep them... you (like myself) have invested both free time and money into your gear and this channel, so any small return helps to fund future creations; and besides, every time I see a Dawson's Ad running on one of my videos I'll be sure to click on it just to try and get some money back from these thieving b******ds !

    Can you help me with a sure way to make every patch "latch" or "hold" an arpreggio please..
    Or do I need a foot pedal, I hope not.
    Do you know any nice distributors of patches and arps etc..?
    I like chill 90 to 120bpm Berlin style, ambient. Not so much cinematic.
    Yhanks
    Thanks in advance.

      there's a a hold function on each layer if you page through the Performance menu. I distribute patches at www.marcbarnessounds.com. If you want Berlin style specifically Waveformer does 2 dedicated banks.
