Spider-Man: No Way Home Soundtrack - Green Goblin Theme (Suite)

- I OWN NOTHING! Music is by Michael Giacchino and is from the Spider-Man: No Way Home Soundtrack. This is a compilation of the Green Goblin's Theme as well as variations of the Sinister Six Theme which are used primarily for the Goblin. You see, the Sinister Six has an overall theme in this film, but there are variations of it used for the Goblin that undoubtedly stand out above all others. Considering the impact this villain had on the film and how deeply the score conveys his actions, I decided to upload a compilation completely in tribute to Norman Osborn's darker half. ENJOY!
If you liked this video check out some of my others! I've uploaded every theme from the MCU's Spider-Man and I will soon be uploading more themes from No Way Home! Here's the link to my MCU Spider-Man Themes playlist! ua-cam.com/play/PLaAn-nKouovVlVvLwqz-wBYTRpQSGbgrj.html

1:10 Green Goblin’s original theme
“I’ve watched you from deep behind Norman’s cowardly eyes. Struggling to have everything you want, while the world tries to make you choose. Gods don’t have to choose. We take.”
Dafoe has a awsome voice
"Strong enough to have it all, TO WEAK TO TAKE IT!"
*Norman’s on sabbatical, honey!*

“Poor Peter, too weak to send me back home to die”
The whole apartment sequence had me speechless. Best sequence in the movie, hands down. He truly feels like an actual threat, he's the very first villain that tested Peter not as Spiderman, but as a man. In this movie he's his baptism of fire.
I absolutely love when he threw him through the glass referencing spider man 3. And when tom was thrown through the floors my mind was blown!🤯💨

Dude the apartment scene is my favorite too!! Everything starting from peters spider sense tingling
The fuckin suplex threw 4 stories hell yeah!!
For me what I liked most is he is a Spider-man who never fought a Spider-man villain who can physically match him and seeing them duke it out only for the goblin to be his physical equal was excellent.

Missed opportunity to put 'killed a poor aunt' instead of 'refuses to elaborate'
I was legit scared when Peter kept punching him, and he kept smiling. Like holy smokes dude.
@Hudson Smachetti I think dafoe actually took real punches for this role and also do his original stunts like the amazing first trilogy and better yet 1st movie where he also beat up Tobey pretty bad
@Hudson Smachetti That scene was horror perfection. Peter's spider sense was visualized so well. Looked like he was having a damn panic attack. Usually the power is for when he has to dodge something thrown at him but I've rarely seen it being used like this.

Mysterio fucked up Peter pretty good too
Killmonger... Ummm... Nah he's just cool
The fact Goblin pushed Parker to almost a darker path than Mysterio did speaks volumes of how dangerous he truly was.
Yeah. Mysterio may be devious with his tricks, but even he could never truly push Spider-Man over the edge the way Norman can.
Damn right. :D The Goblin still got it.
And actually movie Goblin is less dangerous than his comic counterpart who took over a government organization as powerful as S.H.I.E.L.D, formed the Dark Avengers and combined with Carnage symbiote to form the ultimate monster.
@@Ali-bu6lo I’m sure this goblin can do that but the main focus was obviously about spider man and not S.W.O.R.D (S.H.I.E.L.D)
That’s why he needed Tobeys Spider-Man there. He needed someone who had dealt with Goblins evil before to guide him.
His performance as Green Goblin hasn’t aged a day. If anything, his performance here is better than it was in the original.
Here he have more freedom to play without the helmet. And thus allowing him to show his emotions.
@@troller8680 one of the best decisions made in the movie. Dafoe is 100% goblin without the mask
And his performance was s ogood in the original, you could still tell what maniacle facial expression he was making as he taunted Spider-Man.
@@pimp_floyd5024 It annoys me when people were upset at the loss of the mask on the trailers. The mask seriously reduced his fear potential. The mask really isn't that scary. The only times I was afraid of him was when I could see his eyes and mouth from underneath it. His best scenes were when he didn't have it on. So in no way home he was just perfect, he's such an intimidating actor and the way he moves his face just feels wrong
wish they gave him the classic latex goblin mask so he's still look like green goblin but would have the ability to show off his emotions.
I was worried they would nerf the goblin... Holy shit he was absolutely terrifying. By a long shot, Dafoe's best performance as Norman and the goblin. A villain that lives for the sake of chaos and destruction with a personal vendetta is dangerous. Bravo, Willem!
he even eats and shrugs off peters punches like they were nohing, holy heck.

I genuinely wished he were 10 years younger so that he could stay as MCU's Green Goblin and lead the Dark Avengers.
He really felt like he was indirectly taking lead of a "sinister six" lineup. Gosh Dafoe did really good in this movie
He was PHENOMENAL in this movie, way more than just really good.
People often tend to forget how much a threat Green goblin is to spiderman... both mentally and physically. He is almost as strong as spiderman (spiderman being only slightly stronger) and has considerable amount of fire power in his arsenal. Unlike spiderman he is not bound by morality and thus has no reason to holdback like Peter does. Even in the original trilogy through out the 3 films it was only Green Goblin who truly haunted Peter even after dying in the first movie. Actually it was Norman who died ..while the Green Goblin lived on and continued to manipulate Harry. He enjoys exploiting Peter's moral obligations and considers that to be a pathetic sickness. This movie truly does justice to goblin and his motives and explains how much of a menace he is to peter.
I get why Doc Ock would be more popular, but man, the Goblin is just perfect when it comes to proving how he is Spidey's archenemy. Brilliant.
@@TheParanormalist0601 Doc Ock is a great villain..no doubt ..maybe right next to the goblin in spidey's rogues gallery ..but he is nowhere as menacing as the green goblin.. doc ock is more of a tragic villain while the goblin is just straight up pure evil .
Green Goblin 🟩🟪🎃😈 is truly exactly like Joker.
I'm well aware of what Green Goblin is capable of. I've known this character since 2002.

These two quotes perfectly summarize Goblin's opinion of himself and Spiderman:
"Gods don't have to choose."
"Strong enough to have it all. TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT!"
Goblin:POOR PETER…too weak to send me home to die
Peter:I wanna kill you myself
Goblin: Attaboy
It’s so funny that it’s this moment that the goblin actually liked/had respect for peter and not when he was trying to save him
Yes you pointed it absolutely right mate...goblin is always disgusted by the idea that how peter uses his powers for helping others when he could be a god and rule over the common masses...just like norman explained him in Spiderman 1 ( 2002 )...Goblin wants Peter to give up his " Holy Moral Mission " and become just like him...and in the end when Peter tries to straight up kill him...he says attaboy..cause he knew killing was something Peter would never do when he is in character...so he was happy he could bring out the evil side of Peter..

Sry loki and thanos, we have a new champion now 😊
In my opinion, the next competitor of the best mcu villain title, along with Thanos, Loki and Killmonger.
@@azurtuh9264 you can’t really compare them. Killmonger was vengeful, Loki was stuck up full of himself and an overall child with too much power, thanos was mad but also controlled and the only reason he is a villain is because what he did was in a moral sense evil. If he could he would’ve done it without killing anyone or if he was smarter he would’ve expanded the universe or made more resources. He is on a thin line to be a villain. The goblin is just straight up a maniac. Yes he’s diabolical but he’s only really affected Spider-Man. Loki and thanks are on top 2 because they threatened the universe itself, not just 1 person or community

"Peter. No good deed goes unpunished. You can thank me later."
2:24 - 3:22 is the highlight for me at least. The dark ominous vocals conveying a sense of slow dread while Green Goblin is pretty much in control of the whole fight
4:27 🤩😍
This dude killed aunt may stabbed his spider man and did damage to peter social life and the multiverse hands down the biggest threat in that movie and spider man arch enemy
He ruined Peter parkers life in one day
"I've watched you from deep behind Norman's cowardly eyes. Struggling to have everything you want, while the world tries to make you choose. Gods don't have to choose. We take."
May… Run.
This movie only further continued to solidify my point on why the Green Goblin will always be Spider-Man's true archenemy. No villain has ever come close to pushing Peter over the edge than the Goblin. It was the Goblin that made Peter stop holding his punches and show his true power, which was actually kinda scary. Also the fact that as soon as the Goblin takes control over Norman, Peter's Spidey Sense begins SCREAMING at him, despite the fact he is surrounded by the other villains. Not even Doc Ock emitted such a reaction. This truly says something about Goblin.

Not to be a wrestling nerd but it was actually a spine buster. Arn Anderson used it as a finishing move for decades.
@@jackcoleman1784 hey a couple of my best friends were wrestling nerds so no offense taken. I use powerbomb as a general blanket term to describe a person being picked up and slammed, but thanks for the clarification!
I think the one tom did in the final fight is more of a powerbomb though a very nice looking one at that i like how they incorporate their enhanced strength to moves like that soo brutal
People always forget how strong Spider-man actually is. They also forget that Green Goblin is his equal, and in two iterations he was even more powerful then Spiderman. In newer comics starting from Ultimates, and in 90s, when Harry became Green Goblin (for the second time I think), he tweaked GG formula and became more powerful then Spider-man, and seemingly he was more in control (alto later shown to be not true).
Willem Dafoe deserves an Oscar for his performance in this movie. He outclassed himself from the previous film. Normally when a hero or villain from a previous film returns, they get nerfed pretty bad but damn, they totally boosted him up in this movie. I fucking love this dude's performance. He is the MCU's version of Joker, if the Joker had fucking superpowers and a deadly arsenal.
If you want to see the joker with super powers see the bat man and spider man crossover comic. Joker bonds with the carnage symbiote. That comic is heavily underrated.

Goblin's speech to the other villains about how they're gods who should take what they want was similar to him saying that him and his universe's Spider-Man were exceptional when he was trying to convince him that he should just use his powers to do what he wants selfishly instead of doing good and helping people. Norman used the powers his serum gave him to kill the Oscorp board of directors so he could take full control of his company and he wanted Peter to use his powers for similar reasons.
“Here’s the real truth: there are 8 million people in this city, and the teeming masses exist for the sole purpose, of lifting the few exceptional people onto their shoulders. You, me, we’re exceptional.” Not only does this speech match his speech to the other villains, his quote on Peter struggling to have everything he wants while the world tries to make him choose is similar to the plot to Spider-Man 2, which had Peter struggling to live his two lives and in spite everything he does to keep it together, it all goes awry; Harry, his relationship with MJ, his powers, even Aunt May’s rent. The quote “In spite of everything you’ve done for them, eventually they will hate you.” Also fits with No Way Home as despite Peter trying his best to stop Mysterio, he turned the world against him and revealed his identity.

I love how this character, another Spider-Man’s villain, will forever be a part of Toms Peter’s character development. He will never be forgotten!
It’s crazy how Willem Dafoe’s Goblin is so important to superhero cinema, that he was deemed worthy enough to be a defining enemy to TWO different Spider-Men. He was a mirror to Maguire’s Peter in the sense he had all the power he could ever want, but none of the responsibility…. But to Holland’s Peter, he was a nasty wake up call that sometimes it’s not even the purple alien’s in the universe that makes for the most damaging enemies… sometimes it’s just a guy who hates you and everything you stand for to the point he’s willing to tear you down… to Goblin…. Spider-Man is a symbol that must be broken… it doesn’t matter which one it is…. And that’s scary as hell.
That's the kind of stuff that elevates this movie from being shallow fanservice.
@@The94Venom Is that… a good thing?
@@knatspray Yeah, definitely. They could have just brought back fan-favorite characters for the sake of fanservice without thinking it through (cough *Palpatine* cough). The fact they managed to blend fanservice AND a good story is pretty neat.
@@The94Venom At one point does it stop being fanservice and is just a natural story progression? The banter between the Peters on the scaffolding, that's fanservice. The emotional impact the Goblin left on peter, that's something a very small few could've achieved. But I see where your coming from, although what I've heard is that they had the choice to make this a less interesting movie by not including the multiverse. Knowing that Marvel would change the idea of a movie to make it more fun and interesting is a very good thing, especially in this case. Because now instead of getting some other actor out there to try and create a bunch of depth around AND have him be impactful to Peters character, Marvel found THIS as an alternative. Believe me I know that Marvel wants to put people in seats at any means necessary, but if they do it this well then what's there to complain about?
I think another thing I love about no way home is I now have a reason to watch tobey’s movies and andrew’s movies when watching the entire mcu

He should have met Goblin there. In a jungle like setting. We could have had a horror-themed action fight like the fight in ruins at the end of Spiderman.
The Goblin Theme Motif at 1:11 is just glorious! Sounds Modern!
Green goblin is genuinely the best villain in the Spider-man movies. In the beginning, he decided to use himself as a test subject while knowing the side effects such as violence, aggression and insanity. He even said to the scientist "don't be a coward" He wouldn't stop at anything getting his way: He killed the general, the board members, put Aunt May in such agony that she ended up in hospital, going with motive 'first we attack his heart'. Peter also legitimately saw him in a dream where the Green goblin said "Wake up little Spider" - adding the pure intimidation the green goblin gives to Peter. Then the Green goblin got Spider-man to a bridge where he had to save MJ or children and dropping both at the same time, leaving Spider-man vulnerable. Green Goblin nearly killed him! And then beat up Spider-Man so brutally that he was on his knees. The Green goblin still tried to kill Spider-Man after he pleaded with him. The movies since he died, played a large role to Harry's intense dislike towards Spider-Man and eventually Peter, as Norman refrained from the truth as to what actually happened. In No Way Home, he was brutal by allowing other villains to escape and beating Tom Holland's spider-man to a pulp and killing Aunt May and even stabbing Tobey's Spider-Man!
I don't think I recall a villain with that much of an impact towards Spider-Man that it played out in multiple movies! In addition to brutally beating up Spider-Man while manipulating others to his advantage.
And he did that to, not one, BUT FUCKING 2 SPIDERMEN IN THE SPAN OF 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ERAS OF SUPER HERO FILM! Masterful.

He was even BETTER in No way home from improving to be even more scarier which is crazy as their 20 years apart but Dafoe was even better than ever as the goblin than anyone would ever have imagined! Love that so much!
Even after almost 20 years. Willem Dafoe owned this role and there can be nobody else that could play the Green Goblin. This version was honestly more darker and crazier than the original one. And he literally wore Tom Holland’s Spider-Man mentally and physically out quicker than Mysterio or any other villain did. Truly scary and a iconic villain.
Green Goblin downright kicking Peter's ass is easily one of my favorite MCU moments ever, and arguably, one of the most brutal fights. This wasn't a fight so much as Goblin wanting to downright murder Peter, and Peter doing his best to stay alive. For Goblin this was personal, and Willem Dafoe sold it.

William Dafoe's Green Goblin is the best Spider-Man villain he is strong, intelligent, scary and is the only villain to make two spider men his enemy( Toby and Tom's Spider-Man.) Green Goblin's quote is the opposite of Uncle Ben's, "With great power comes great responsibility." That quote is and as Green Goblin said, "Strong enough to have it all too weak to take it." Thank you.
“Strong enough to have it all…TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT”! (Rocks his shit)
SPOILERS
If you watch What If, its as if Green Goblin murdering someone close to Peter has become an absolute point in time:
1) Goblin's ghost haunting Harry to become the new goblin and end up dying to save Peter
2) Methhead Goblin causing Gwen's death
3) Kills Aunt May
Green Goblin really is Spider-Man's arch nemesis in the movies and I love it
Methhead Goblin
Yeah he appeared in all three movie series
Unpopular opinion, his performance in this rivals Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight
Strong disagree but i see where you're coming from. DaFoe would be an amazing joker, but heath imo is still THE joker
@@lostpoet3940 thats why I say rivials, both top tier performances that will be hard for others to top.
@@lostpoet3940 He’s saying that Dafoe’s performance as the Green Goblin is at the same level as Heath Ledger as the Joker. Not that’s Dafoe would be just as good as Ledger as the joker 😂🙄
@@independent_bully_maguire9320 but can
it fucking trumps jokers performance tbh.Dont forget he managed to do it all with significantly less screentime than that of jokers.
4:27 omg that part is amazing
You know green goblin is so much on his glider that i had forgotten how badass pf a fight he is on food he literally destroyed toms spider throwing him under so many apartments floors
MCU having no truly evil villains
Gobby: Wait ‘till they get a load of me
Mysterio was pretty fucked up though. He had no problem shooting a teenager in the head with a pistol.
Mysterio was a pathetic depressed man, goblin tries to not only kill Spider-Man but make Spider-Man want to die
@@motationhd8989 Mysterio is pathetic with his behavior...but very vile because how far he took his pettyness. And it was because off it that it led to Parker to end meeting a much worse devil.
Mysterio robbed Parker off a future, The green goblin robbed parker out off the remaining innocence and peace...and even his principles. I declare both off them as the most monstruous villains spidey faced in movies so far.
@@lsebastian9086 mysterio was ready to kill Peter without any remorse but who do you think is more evil? The one who tortures you and makes sure everything you love and have is gone even after you are dead or the one that kills your faster and is not going after every single person related to you?
@@motationhd8989 he was going after MJ, Betty and Ned. He didn't tell him about aunt may so he could've killed her too if he knew who she was.
the scene where holland is just wailing on him, and he just laughs in his face is too good
I freaking love Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin! He was menacing, manipulative, and he can brutally beat a Spider-Man with his own fists
Willem DaFoe was _delightful_ in this movie. He clearly still loves playing the role, and is having the time of his life embodying it again. And doing his own stunts? What a legend.
Strong enough to have it all...
*TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT!!*
That delivery was fucking perfect!
3:15 amazing scene
He might not be a villain who debuted on screen in the MCU but he's up there with Thanos, Loki, Ego, Vulture, Zemo and Mysterio as one of the best villains to appear in the MCU.
*Peter Peter Peter… No good deed goes unpunished. You can Thank me later!*
"Strong enough to have it all. Too weak to take it!"
Spider-Man 1 you have Norman struggling with the Goblin persona. Then in this movie he is fully consumed by it and Goblin just wreaks absolute havoc. Willem turned it up to 11 for this one.
I like how they mixed the original goblin theme with the amazing Spider-Man goblin theme with a no way home twist it keeps the horro atmosphere for goblin
I like how it wasn't a new Green Goblin to test the MCU Peter. It was THE Green Goblin...20 years later no less
Joker: I’m the greatest comic book villain ever!
Goblin: Hold my pumpkin bomb honeyyy…
Eh...?
God, Goblin was terrifying in this movie. The fight with him in the condo fight was horrifying. The way Peter was punching but was doing to him was pretty terrifying.
2:24 “Strong enough to have it all…
*TOO WEAK TO TAKE IT!* “
3:00*
I like how they kept the drums(Dunno how they really called) from the scene where Norman looked at masks in his house trying to find where the voice is coming from.
bongos?
Willem Dafoe shined like a pumpkin bomb in this movie holy shit
Face it folks he’s up there with THANOS he’s one of the best villains and actors in the mcu 1 year from now nwh broke the internet.
I love how Goblin didn’t become weak overtime, Peter had to evolve as a man in order to defeat him and it wasn’t by killing him that would make him win but sparing him as Goblin wanted to die
Everytime Willem Dafoe does his Green Goblin voice, I legit felt chills down my spine. When you hear that voice, you know something's about to go wrong.
Goblin was and always be the real archenemy of Spiderman. Writers tried many times to introduce a new villain to Spidey that should have shadowed Goblin but no one ever will come even close. Venom is great character but he is a hero now in comic books, Dock Ock is a tragic villain, Lizard, Rhino, Electro, Scorpion are just punching bags (which is sad really, i prersonally would want to see Scorpion reintroduced as a much greater threat to Peter). They even tried to do something like Death Of Superman storyline where Spideys Doomsday was Morlun but....look at Morlun and look at Goblin. Not even your much superior powers can help you beat Goblin in this contest. He doesnt need to be stronger than Spidey to be his worst nightmare.
best score in the movie green goblin in this is the best we have seen him on screen
Absolutely the best done villain in the movie, and that’s not to say any of the villains were done anywhere near poorly. Goblin was just that good! So glad they kept the drums from his original theme, and the CHOIR!!! 😩😩😩👌👌
Hard-hitting, personal grudge, close-to-home, deeply disturbed, and completely informed villains like these will always beat godlike beings and intergalactic monsters. They don't have some alternate motive that ends up ruining them or leaving them open, and they don't go in blind and underestimate their enemy, they deal the first blow and they change the main characters forever and the stakes are never higher.
These villains also have the most depth and relatability, along with the best scores and most full arcs. They dominate the scene when they are around like a slasher in a horror film. Maybe one day we will get back to a point where not all superhero movies need cliffhangers and large interconnected plots with constantly moving and changing worlds with little room for individual characters and their development and where the same comedic touch isn't needed for all the hero's.
