Hello, i would like to know whether it's possible for foreign psychologists to work in switzerland. If i were to do my bachelor's in my country then come to switzerland for my master's in psychology, would it be possible for me to get a job there? And if i were to work as a psychologist there i should learn french, italian or german right? Or are there psychologists who practise in English? Please let me know if you can, it would be very helpful for me, thank you.

Psychology is a regulated profession in Switzerland . You have to speak one of the local languages to be approved to work here. Unfortunately English is not one of them. Doing your Masters here is not a guarantee to getting a work permit.

@@maureensunshine3185 thank you for your reply, so if I were to learn one or two of the official languages fluently then will I be able to work there after my masters? And are psychologists in demand in switzerland? Please let me know if you can, thank you.

@@autumn399 If you finish your Masters and get a job here then it is up to your future employer to apply for your permit. He has to prove that he could not find a Swiss citizen or resident or EU citizen for the post. As is currently, psychologists are not in high demand but this might change due to some recent changes that allow residents a couple of free psychotherapy sessions. On the other hand, psychologists had to work under the psychiatrists but are now becoming independent. This may mean many people will take up the course to meet the demand that will soon be high. Learning German and French is key. Not so keen on Italian as it is a minority language here.

@@maureensunshine3185 hello thank you for your reply. Do you know anything about teaching psychology, like becoming a psychology professor or an english teacher? Can foreigners get such positions? Please let me know, thank you.

Very ok. It can help you reach a B1 level and that is great. Just be sure to also watch the medical UA-cam videos I suggested for the medical French if you are focusing on French.

You can get a job easily in Switzerland if you have the German nationality as well. Your experience level is important but not an hinderance as your citizenship.
