    Hey, guys! 🌟 Guess what? It's FINALLY happening! I'm heading to Thailand! 🇹🇭✈️ After so many cancellations, health hiccups, and scheduling nightmares, I'm on my way. It's been a rollercoaster getting here, with trips cancelled due to illness, and just when I thought I'd have to postpone yet again due to a flare-up and stress about the journey ahead, things took a turn for the better. Thanks to some medication adjustments and sheer determination, I'm pushing through.
    I'm starting my journey from Toronto, hopping on a bus to Pearson International Airport, then off to Vancouver before the big leap to Bangkok. 🌍 The anticipation has been unreal, guys. Replanning everything wasn't easy, especially with the stress of managing my health on the road. But here I am, packing light (well, trying to!), strategizing on how to sneak an extra bag, and preparing for the long haul ahead.
    This trip means more than just a vacation; it's about overcoming obstacles, managing my health on the go, and embracing every moment. Despite the challenges, including a 24+ hour travel time and the stress of flying standby, I'm filled with excitement. 🎒🛫 I'll be sharing all the highs and lows with you, from my packing essentials to how I'm managing pain and mobility issues during the flight.
    I want this journey to be as much yours as it is mine. So, stay tuned for updates, vlogs, and, yes, pictures from Thailand! 📸 Let's embark on this adventure together, embracing the unknown and celebrating every small victory along the way. Here's to Thailand, here's to resilience, and here's to us! 🥂

    I’m so excited for you that you are finally having your dream of travelling to Thailand come reality. As someone with AS, Chronic Migraines, Fibro and other issues who has flown a number of times, good luck with handling your pain while travelling. I can’t wait to hear all about your trip.

      Thank you so much. It’s nice to hear that there are other people that despise their chronic illnesses they still travel. I know it’s hard and it may look a little different than other people’s travel but the fact that we can still do it is a statement of perseverance and determination. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

      Thank you so much! It’s been amazing being here but also the pain has been quite bad. It does interfere with what I am able to do but I keep reminding myself that I have to do things at my own pace and make piece with the fact that I will miss on a lot of things I wish I could do. Thank you for the positive vibes.

      Thank you so much. I thought if I keep waiting for the perfect time, for having all my chronic illnesses under control, to be flare free etc… it would never happen. So I’m embracing all the limitations that it brings and trying to make peace with the fact that I will be missing out on a lot. But that’s okay because I will also be experiencing a lot. ❤️

    I recently traveled back from Nicaragua, and missed our connecting flight due to customs taking 4 hours, and as a result, ended up taking us 30 plus hours in total for just the return trip! It was a nightmare, and it was so so hard on my body. The following week and a half was brutal for me, migraines and just recovering. So I feel for you on this long journey to Thailand! Proud of you for getting through it! It certainly takes a ton if mental strength and fortitude to travel long distances with chronic pain and illness! I feel like we would make good travel buddies 😊

      Wow, your experience coming back from Nicaragua sounds incredibly tough! I can imagine the exhaustion of dealing with a 30-hour return trip, especially after a delay like that in customs. And the aftermath with migraines sounds just brutal. It's a real testament to your strength that you managed to get through that recovery period. I totally agree, given our shared experiences, we would make excellent travel buddies! It's all about supporting each other and finding those moments of joy amidst the chaos of travel. 😊

      Thank you so much! My foot is a lot better and hasn’t been bothering me at all but my back and exhaustion has been a bit of a problem. I guess I just need to adjust my expectations. ❤️

    You go girl! So excited for you and your husband! When you say you took a painkiller did you mean narcotic painkiller? I have chronic spine pain and migraines and getting a few a year is like pulling teeth from any doctor here in the USA.

      @tt_looking_glass  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, my emergency pain med is Percocet which is a narcotic. I’m so lucky that my doctor has no problem prescribing them to me. I’ve been her patient for 20 years and been using narcotics safely for the same amount of time. That is so unfortunate that you have to fight to get decent pain relief. I know they can be addictive and misused but if you are careful and set boundaries for yourself it can be used safely and effectively. Keep advocating for yourself and your needs.

    looks beautiful it can take a few days for pain to settle after flight its a 13 hour from England but massage and warm water soon helps it settle down on long flights as well it mite help you i use heat pads for my back and other painful spots on my body as well as painkiller my back and tailbone are always the worse after a long flight and yes the migraines from lack of sleep i cant sleep on flights either but wow you finally got there have a beautiful 😎 time you deserve it

      Dealing with the aftermath of a long-haul flight, especially one as lengthy as 13 hours from England, can be quite the ordeal. I love using heat and massages to help with pain but it's way too hot here for baths, hitting 45°C (113°F)! But, I've been fully taking advantage of the Thai massages. Totally get the struggle with back and tailbone pain, the pain is excruciating. And those migraines from not being able to sleep on the plane and the time zone difference? The worst. But hey, you've found some solid strategies to tackle those pains. I can't sleep on flights either, so I feel you. Thank you for your well wishes!

    So so happy for you both. Having flown back and forth from Melbourne to Dubai to Riyadh many times, I hear you. But somehow we manage and make it through the flight. 🎉😅. You are a true inspiration and all round beautiful person. I loved my time in Thailand. The people, places, food, adventures, shopping etc are all incredible. The food was just so amazing. My second honeymoon was on another island there and I felt so much more relaxed and not gonna lie, the daily massages were the best. Beautiful memories. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Proud of you, your tenacity and spirit of adventure ❤Ellen xoxo

    Woo hoo persistence pays off. Did you find the sunflower lanyard helpful at the airports?

      I used it to sit at disabled chairs near the gate without feeling like staff was going to give me the dirty eye. It was very helpful. My husband lined up to board and called me when he was about to go in and I joined him. It made a big difference.
