Great analogies about radiation and putting on our full armor not to get infected. Each one of us tend to struggle with certain sins more than others. I'm going to start memorizing and meditating on the Bible passages that can help me quench the fiery darts that the devil is throwing. I need to take my thoughts captive and consciously have these Truths in my mind at every moment.

The full armor of God... I never really took those words seriously, even though they are in Scripture. I certainly will now. I have tried to be a Christian for ten years but am constantly struggling with doubt, keep falling to a habitual sin (periods of joyful victory, then crushing defeat), can't seem to muster up much compassion, have trouble believing Jesus could love me, and generally hate the sinful man I am (that I can't escape). I need the full armor!
Okay. One more thing. Verse 15. Read the scripture. That's okay, I'll type it out. Verse 15, (NASB) "and having strapped on your feet the (here it comes) preparation of..." Clearly, preparation comes first before acting on the gospel of peace. Let's correct this within the Body of Christ.
I hate lies...i hate unjustice..on me...or others...and yes!...sometimes i bcome angry because injustice done and "justified" with lies..but i think it is not bad anger...i think/hope that it,s the same anger jesus had when he saw the injustice in his Fathers house... But what about my thoughts running away with me..like a big weight in my head..just because i don,t understand injustice and lies. I would like to have peace in my mind...😢 Sinds i found the video,s here and i,m growing spiritualy it al became much worse... I wonder if this is normal?
Anita ... In my experience , what you describe IS normal .. There IS a battle going on for our souls ...moment by moment we must choose who we will serve. We CAN defeat the enemy of our souls by doing it Jesus' way . When tempted to anger , pray for the persecuter and draw near to God ....tell Him all about it . He can and will comfort us after we are tested and strengthened. NEVER give up . HE LOVES YOU D E A R L Y . PS ...This IS enemy territory and injustice abounds and the Father of all Lies is filling this earth with his filthy lies ....it WILL be all made right , one day. God is JUST . You CAN TRUST HIM .

I'm still no further on, further expounding the metaphor and analogy doesn't illuminate it, it just confuses me further - I dont care about the history of Roman armor. I cant actually wear any physical armor so the meaning is just muddier still. And, if your breastplate of righteousness is YOUR OWN righteousness in striving to deny sin then heaven help you.

I wish he would have included verse 18. Paul speaks of prayer, which I consider oil for the armor. Prayer is how you're going to put the armor on.
