    I have the lightning lariat extended range and the r1s quad, large batt. I love how the lightning drives and the smooth ride. wished it had the electronics i have in my MS TESLA,
    The R1S IS OK, I like the looks, and the ride is also fine, but the lightning ride is the ultimate. Ty for the video.

      There's just something about the Lightning, right? It has the best feature too, the Pro Power Onboard.

    I did have a choice and also went with the Ford Lightning. It is the BEST all around EV.

    Currently have 8 months left on my Polestar 2 lease. Rented an R1T for a family road trip and it blew me away in every aspect (except for the accelerator pedal as mentioned). Counting down the months on my lease so I can pick up an R1T!

    I love the fact that if I need a new fender, door, etc. for my Lightning, that there are thousands of common and readily available F-150 parts. I wonder how long it would take for Rivian to replace something like that. I also like that all of Ford's fortunes are not tied to EVs. Ford will be here tomorrow and the next day. Both good trucks. Love my XLT.

    The thing holding both of these trucks back is simply the charging curve if you frequently take long 500+ mile road trips. A couple days ago I pulled into a 350kw EA charger with my ev9 @ 12% next to an R1T who had been charging for 20mins and was at 45%. I charged for 21mins to 80% and left the Rivian still charging @ 76%. I have had the same experience with the f150. You can really tell how bad the rivian curve is when you take into account it has a max charge rate of 220kwh vs the F150 160-170kwh and yet in the real world they both take roughly the same 45mins to go from 10-80%.

      I agree completely. 20 to 25 min charge times are fine. 43 minutes is too long per stop.

    Air suspension is cool but many reviews say the lightning is a smoother ride.

      I like the ride in the Lightning. As Wes said, the Rivian feels sporty for a truck and, therefore, is a little rougher.

    I went with the Ford. Just got a 2024 Flash. Perfect blend of options and tech of the Lariat with cloth seats of the XLT.

    I bet if Rivian would have made a full-size truck, they wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.

    Great video. A question: I am taking a 4000 mile trip this summer. I own a 23 XLT standard range, but have the option to rent a 2023 R1T. Which would you recommend?

      Both have access to superchargers now with an adapter. Plan your trip with ABRP and see where the longest gaps between chargers are. Can you plan a way around them? Can your standard range XLT make it between these gaps easily? If yes, then take your own truck! If not, will the R1T make it that much farther?

    Set your audio to mono. each of your voice recorders playes into a different ear

    They are both amazing vehicles but Ford’s warranty is awful

      It is shorter than Hyundai for sure. But they do offer a lot of extended warranties for those that want them.
