    Hi George
    I used to operate our combine on our farm and I got sarcoidosis, which is growths on my lungs. We believe it was from the dust when blowing down. I was wearing all the necessary Ppe and full face dust mask and still got into trouble. I see you are not even wearing a throwaway dust mask. People who do these jobs like us need to think about their long term health. Sorry to preach but I feel strongly about it as I was quite poorly for a long time. I am still on steroids which I hate but I am getting better. I’m not sure if I will ever be rid of it though. I do enjoy watching your videos and think you are very good at making them. Keep up the good work.
    Best Adam Neave

    After watching that it makes you understand how easy a fire could start if the unit wasn’t cleaned out or blown down regularly - horrible job though!! Excellent video once again George.

    Nice video George. I do recommend you get a backpack blower as somebody else has said. It's all money but you'd be happy you did.

    Good vid George , you can see why machinery go on fire if you don't take the time to clean the machinery off at the end of the day 😎

    Should put an hydraulic fan on it with small air hoses running to where all the dusty does collect. You dont have to have the fan running constantly just turn it on every now and again. We have done it and makes life easier.

    That blow is a days work by it’s self. Difficult to believe all the dust and debris. You need a face mask for the blow off. Will the barley straw be used as feed or bedding. Enjoy your shower you deserve it!

    You're making me feel sneezy and itchy just watching you.
    You should have a dust mask on as speaking as someone how screwed his own lungs up not bothering when doing that and blowing the straw out in the shed with the straw chopper relying on an inhaler is no fun especially when trying to get a breath when it is hot and humid.

  • @bumpkinrocks
    @bumpkinrocks 5 років тому +5

    Do yourself a favour and get a decent dust mask! 😥This is coming from an asthmatic, you don't realise what it's like to struggle with breathing.

    Have you grown soya beans this year? I know you did a couple of years ago and wondered how they did, perhaps you could tell us in a video? Careful with breathing that shit in, won't do your health any good mate.

    Really is this the best design of baler the companies can do? The amount of waste straw would if kept in the compression chamber would give you at least 1 more full bale George! I can't get over the amount of straw in every place in the baler! If they designed them better with a fully sealed take up and compression bale chamber you would not have all that waste of straw? Plus all those spaces for the straw to get stuck in that you as here have to keep cleaning out. Since the designs of these balers is so wasteful and so many places where the straw does get stuck in, I would say George you best use a blower/sucker machine to clean out the straw? Like the type used in gardens where you can use it to suck up grass or leaves or small garden waste that is all cut up by the machine and either goes into a big fine mesh bag or cloth one then it can be put on the compost normally. Then with one switch you can then blow off the small amount left over? This would make cleaning the baler faster and better, as just blowing the straw will just blow it around and back into the machine for then more cleaning! Get a portable blower/ sucker version George you can suck up most of the straw from the machine faster then just blow off what is left over! The sucked up straw can be dumped on the ground.

    I swear, it makes no difference how big your baler is, you never seem to get all he dust out!! 😂😂 after watching yourself and Andy from its a farming life for me, I've ended up using a blower after baling. It's so much easier! If you want real power get a stihl backpack. It might blow you off the baler though!😂😣
