After a few years of owning one all I can point out is: LOVE: 1. Stunning looks and that Imperal blue color is amazing. 2. Noise - best noise out of four cylinders. 3. Cosworth pedigree. 4. Comfortable interior. 5. Pops and bangs when decelerating. 6. The short-shifter six speed rocks! 7. Stiff suspension - delivers outrageous handling. Sticks to the track if you want to - oversteers if you decide! 8. No turbo but Valvetronic system. 9. Affordable to run. 10. Practicality factor - YES! HATE: 1. Although wonderful suspension setting - sometimes the ride can be horrible. 2. Turning radius of an old soviet truck. 3. Some parts are hard to find in some parts of Europe. 4. Rust - but I've taken care of that problem. 5. Very underestimated by some. 6. FWD although when cornering you don't feel like it is. 7. The steering and clutch pedal are heavy and in some conditions it's humiliating. 8. The very beautiful green instrument panel sometimes doesn't light up. 9. IMRC and O2 sensor problems. And No.10: That I can actually point out something wrong I hate about this car. Overall: I love that freaky car.
Здравей, би ли препоръчал такова СТ170, намерил съм една същия цвят, за 4к, гледам че си писал, че някой части се намират трудно, скъпи ли са като цяло частите и каква е тая грешка IMCR? I was very lucky i could buy an ex police car that thing was like a bull on roids but yeah alright having loads of grunt if the thing cant turn properly thats why the st170 for me has the edge easier to make power than make a boat turn corners in my opion
Such a good chassis. Despite under 100kW/T it outpaces much faster on paper cars in the public road twisties - provided no inclines requiring hp. The price to driver confidence ratio really rewards. Car feels best with 1/4 tank of fuel and no passenger. Fortunately, no rust anywhere on any of the Australian cars.
I had a K&N induction kit, fairly cheap and simple to fit, lets the engine rev more easily especially at the bottom end and have a nice growl with the stock exhaust. Bi-zenon HID headlights were good but the fogs were completely useless! What's up with your boot unlocking? The 3rd button on the key fob is for the boot, 2 presses and the boot pops open.
On the standard air box has 2nd part towards the wing, if you take that off it gives alot more Induction sound. And i have to press the fob about 4 or 5 times before it will open the boot

One thing i hate on the st170 is the exhaust down pipe from the engine... They should of followed the zetec se way like the 1.6 and run the engine backwards ..then it wouldn't hit the speed humps and catch on the road and destroy the lambda sensors .plus the cold air feed would be at the front

One of the reason I brough the car was for the handling drive so nice 👌

Change battery in the key or resolder the key buttons. Sometimes they just have bad electronic contact.
