Deep (Dynamic) Compaction :
Deep or Dynamic compaction (DDC, heavy tamping, dynamic consolidation, etc.) is a cost-effective method of soil compaction whereby a heavy weight is repeatedly lifted and dropped from a height, impacting the ground surface with a readily calculated impact energy . Costs are reportedly about 2/3 that of stone columns, with up to 50% savings over other deep densification alternatives .
There are 2 Type of deep Compaction :
- Heavy Tamping dynamic compaction .
- Rapid or vibrating compaction .
