    Superb interview.
3 weeks ago I lost my beautiful boy, Alfie. He took his own life at the age of 19 over a girl. He was on life support for 4 days before the doctors told us there was no hope. I held his hand as he passed. My life since has been filled with "what ifs" and "if onlys"but whatever I'm going through pales into insignificance to what my son must have felt that night. He must have experienced such a dark night of the soul and I wasn't there for him. I miss him so much.
No matter what you think about Bob Geldof or his music, nobody should have to lose a child in that way. Everything he said here is from the heart.

What a wonderful interview very thought provking. I've only ever read two autobiography's one was Peter Sheridan's "44 Seville Place" and Bob geldof's "Is That It" two wonderful books as I tended to read novels prior to them. Being the same age as Bob and after reading his book years ago I always found him to be too truthful and comes out with things most people would be too embarrased to say or shy away from and am glad he hasn't changed.

      Well I have to disagree,but that's o/k if u feel that way..
Now i've seen him as a fella who never could make up his mind in how he saw himself& what he wanted the world to see him as..
Was he a Full time ' Rock Star' TV presenter, SJW & Activist,Charity Org ( And he did try to make a difference) Record Producer,Business man?
And he might be all of those or at least 1 or 2 but when u make a choice u own it& u can't be everything to everyone..
And I don't think he knows& or still quite unsure..
But at the end of the day,he just wants me to buy his music& merch and STFU.

Many people hang on too long to their immediate grief and can't move on. I hope this interview inspires some people to get a grip of life. When my husband died after 65 years of being together, my heart was broken, just couldn't help myself, and one day, I cried out loud to Yahweh/God and his wonderful Son, Yeshua/Jesus, and asked for mercy and for Him to take away my deep, deep sorrow. A couple of days later, I realised that my sobbing had stopped, my appetite was restored. He answered my prayer, and it was a miracle. I feel for anyone who doesn't have faith.

Tommy must be coached on not asking anything relevant no mention of the wars that are going on or the state of humanity. One of Geldofs quotes to Thatcher was theirs nothing simpler than dying. Theirs still plenty of dying but whoever controls the media know how to muzzle and i would suggest that people who have a platform definitely need to challenge the powers that are pushing the Gaza atrocity. The stench of rotting corpses is stifling in Gaza but all we had is this self indulgent codology

@@frictionpeg maybe there was, but I don't listen to him in general, people don't hang on his word. I'm sure he's appalled like >99% of the world. The interview was from 4 years ago, and he was being attacked by someone thinking it was a recent one.

Geldof is too big for his boots, not the sort of intellect that impresses me anyway. Where is his voice when it comes to the real raw truth? This guy is a supporter of the UN, the worst organisation on the planet for humanity and its future. He is a waste of everyone’s time insofar as there’s
no value in his virtue signalling and verbal diarrhoea!
We need to be listening to people that have real integrity and that actually have the imagination and the vision to wake up ordinary people to the fact that they are bonded slaves (citizens) and that it’s time to take our power back to effect real change in the world, in our respective nations. The corruption and fraud has gone far enough and unfortunately Geldof is just a mouthpiece for a side in the whole ‘divide and conquer’ strategy of ‘the powers that be’!

I always liked him, but you are probably correct in that he wanted fame. The rats had a few good songs but they are not a great band and he’s not a great political mind. The UN are obviously controlled by the security council, he could have used his platform for reform of the UN and to take away the control of the permanent members of UN Security Council. A genocide is happening and Geldof is quiet.

Don't listen to Bob but read your verbal diarrhoea instead. Give over with your schoolboy rubbish and get with reality. The only bonded slave is you in your head.

Wow ….. I was going through the Comments thinking ……is anybody going to recognize this man for what he actually is? what an absolute spot on analysis of this insufferable oaf and what is really simply verbal diarrhea. He has spent his life doing the bidding for big corporations, British royal interests and multinational government agencies who , make no mistake about it , have only one agenda . This individual is a badly disguised media puppet for the wrong side of humanity, masquerading as the complete opposite.
Makes perfect sense that the very bias RTE would have the country listening to this uninteresting tale , instead of somebody with a true moral compass who actually is on the side of humanity.
