- In this video, I showcase one of my most unique creations: a violin crafted from 1748 spruce wood! This special wood comes from an old support beam in an Austrian house, which was renovated by a childhood friend of mine. When he discovered the beam, he decided to give it to me, knowing I could turn it into something special. Join me as I share the story behind this extraordinary violin and how a piece of 300-year-old wood has been transformed into a musical masterpiece!
Meanwhile all the best from Cremona

Thank you for taking the time to post these videos and share your knowledge.
Craftsmanship is the main ingredient to making a great sounding instrument. That is made easier by having quality wood to work with. Thanks
Dear Edgar, I am always happy for a maker, that invested his time to make an instrument not for immediate sale and completed the project.
Congratulations!
Was ich daran mag ist die Aussage, dass man aus jeden Stück Holz ein gut klingendes Instrument machen kann. Habe neulich einen ihrer Bässe spielen dürfen, ein wunderbares Instrument!
I notice at 4:04 that the softer summer growth space between the darker growth rings of the wood on the top are now darker than the normally darker (winter growth) wood.
If you stain the top with a solution of tea, the natural tannins in the tea will make the darker rings show up appropriately.
very nice!
First of all, first. Second of all, Thank you for your videos...please never stop...
In one of the violas I've seen, there are three bass bars. Can you tell me something about the practice of using multiple bass bars in string instruments
Did you sell this violin? I’m interested
Ja leiwand! Da helle Wahnsinn! Da bist du 300 Jahre ein Hausbalken, dann musst Du für die nächsten 300 Jahre als Geige arbeiten…
Would you please put a link to the supplier of the custom violin pegs you used on this instrument...Thank you !
Bois d'Harmonie
I'm curious about the difference of "when" the wood ages. Comparing a three hundred year old violin made from a freshly cut tree and a new violin made from a tree cut three hundred years ago.
What price would put in this violin?
Maybe it's my speakers but this violin sounds a bit mellow, maybe too mellow for current preference of violin sound. Probably won't project very well in large setting.
i have question for you. what did you think about carbon violin?
Are you selling it? I might be interested.
Yes, it's currently available for sale! If you're interested, please feel free to email me at info@eruss.it, and we can discuss the details!
sorry, I can't watch your videos any more. the way you film this (your face is still and the background moves) makes me too dizzy.
I think you are hallucinating my friend. I do not see anything you say.
@@gaby2759if you can’t see the effect at 0:17 maybe you are hallucinating
Ditto... I love the content, but the tracking is horrifyingly dizzying
I agree….way too dizzy now almost threw up 🤮
