Mr Jafar Jafar, is the Publisher of Daily Nigeria which published a video clip allegedly showing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje receiving a bribe, appeared before a Kano State House of Assembly committee on Thursday.

This country is a scam... How on earth are we talking about immunity in a case that is staring in our very before, we still talk about immunity it just a shame.

Honestly Ganduje is a disgrace to humanity,i was privilege to watch his presentation at the national conference where spoke well on corruption and corrupt leaders in the country but today he happens to fall victim of that proposal.The worst of it was involvement of children from primary school which we believe it was a political motivation.so wicked and selfish minded. Ganduje should know he may deny it here on earth as he want but surely before Allah the Almighty there's no two ways.

I must commend Jafar Jafar for this bold step. Not every journalist has the courage to go against a Governor or President. if PMB is truly fighting Corruption as he wants us to believe, he must make known his stand on this issue. He may not have capability to sack the gov for immunity clause, but his personal stand will send a clear message, if he is truly fighting corruption.

@@yauibrahim6463 that is why I mentioned that PMB "may not have capability to sack the gov for immunity clause" however a fighter against corruption can send a clear message by ignoring the Governor, not fielding him as candidate in the coming election, removing immunity clause from our constitution etc.

Those video clips are really authentic and beyond any doubt, and new information technology contains information of videos or audio underground of it, and it's impossible to animate or edit video that can resembles to human being or even closer.

i will say almost all Governors across the nation are involved in this act of getting kickback regardless of party affiliation. too many vultures wanting and waiting to take a slice off all these contracts. by the time each person takes slices off the top of contracts, there is no funds left to execute the contract.
I saw a video clip containing an interview with JJ by Arise News ( I suppose it is an online medium). JJ made an explanation about lack of audio in some of the clips on the Ganduje bribe allegation. He stated that the CCTV camera footage of Offa robbery had no audio. Yet, the robbers were identified from the footage and they were arrested and investigated. By that analogy, he wants Governor Ganduje to be investigated based on the soundless clips.
This analogy is faulty and weak. The similarities are lacking. The only similarity between robbery and bribery is the possibility of money changing hands. But in robbery there is the feature of violence and the money changes hands under threat or actual violence. Therefore, with or without audio in CCTV camera footage, robbery cannot be mistaken even by primary school pupil.
On the other, hand sound is necessary to understand the purpose for which money is given in a bribery allegation. Otherwise, there are many purposes for which money can change hands. It can be a change from a bureau de change operator. it can be a repayment of loan. It can be for safe-keeping. It can be a purchase price for buying something. It can be a gift. It can be a message to be given to a third party. It can be a bribe as JJ wants his viewers to believe. I saw another clip that has audio. But it does not help in the purpose for which the money was given and received.
JJ made a comparison between Fayose and Ganduje. He said that EFCC or ICPC could investigate Ganduje like Fayose was investigated pending when he lost immunity. At that point, his interviewers asked him if he was prepared to submit a petition. He suggested that the agencies should just investigate or a CSO or an individual should write the petition.
The law enforcement agencies do not act in such a wild manner. If they are to just stumble upon an allegation in the conventional or social media and use it to start investigation, the same Nigerians will complain that they which-hunt people. It is difficult to satisfy Nigerians. Whether you like EFCC or not, you cannot say they are incompetent. Their mode of operation is highly professional. I wrote a number of petitions to EFCC on behalf of my clients. They do not just start investigation based on the petition. The petitioner has to go there to confirm and adopt his petition. They drill even the petitioner very well. A colleague wrote a petition to EFCC on behalf of his client from another state. He told me that when they came for adoption they spent a whole day there. They digested the petition well to know that it has substance. That is why their investigation is different and brings results.
Allegation of receiving bribe is difficult to establish when a marked money is not given.
The question is: can a giver of bribe who did not report to the authorities later turn out to pretend to be a whistle blower instead of a co-conspirator or an accomplice?
If care is not taken, this allegation against Governor Ganduje may set a dangerous precedent. We saw how cases of persons that skipped NYSC keep up coming up in recent time. Press freedom may be enjoyable when you are the one making the allegation. But you will hate it when you are the subject of discussion. We should be careful.

This Governor should be arrested or immunity stripped. Who cares if it's political or not. or how close he was to someone else. The governor was caught. Most Governors do this. Corrupt system.
