Thank you Giles! I’m just doing the trip report write up and you’ll be able to see the full flight on my website shortly

I had the opportunity to fly on that plane, but COVID took it away and it took away so many other things too! I'm still glad that you got to fly on it, at least that's something to be happy about...

Honestly, I'm sure SQ will bring the A380 back to the USA, its just for now due to market demands its been moved towards Australia. SQ has been making some interesting changes like cancelling their Vancouver - Singapore route which AC has jumped on right away.

@@gate2sky A hope a lot of planes are brought back because there’s currently a shortage of airliners worldwide. Meanwhile, the popularity of air taxis (at least in America) is at an all time high!

@@ChrisZoomER I think revenge travel is great for aviation in general. Hopefully these flight prices come down a bit though. I do love that the 'retired' A380s and such are brought back and we will see that continuing. I think the A380 is ahead of its time and unfortunately its engines aren't at the fuel efficiency of more modern jets like the A350. But lets cherish these moments!

Do you find the A380 windows small? I can see a lot of the frame in the video shot. The A380's very thick fuselage is also probably why! How do you find the A350's windows? I am flying on SQ286 in a few days and am very excited!

So I don't think the A380 windows are small per se, but I do think that the space between the passenger side glass and the aircraft side glass is quite distant meaning sometimes you don't get the shot or view you want. It is quite thick in space and it's because of the curvature of the aircraft. The A350 doesn't have this problem and is quite wide and spacing is narrow. Both are incredible and have their pros but I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time either way.

I dont get it .. if i check FRA -> SIN i only get the Boeing 777 for this route. Last year we had the SQ25 with A380 as well, but not this year. *EDIT* it´s better i read befor write ;) Video is now one year old! Sorry .... , but it is a shame they dont use this Plane for this Route. We flew last year in Business Class with A380, and this year with A350 via Kopenhagen. Even if the A350 is a brand new plane and it´s tech is uptodate, the ride in the A380 was better, not much, but a bit ;)

Hey! No its actually not a year old. The flight was taken on April 19-21. Singapore removed all A380s to JFK, and effectively the USA as of May 2023, which was just earlier this month. All A380s have now been redeployed to Australia. They are seeing incredible amounts of premium demand down under onwards to Singapore. I believe SQ has actually applied for a 5th daily Sydney flight now. Also, while the A350 is a newer bird, the seats are from 2013. The A380 seats in business are the 2017 generation. I agree, the A380 is just another league but the A350 is one of my favorite aircraft
