Gutted. Me and my friends spent many great nights in the mid eighties following the guys all over the country. Met them on several occasions and they were always great with us. Had a few beers with them too and had a great laugh. Dan was a true gent and invited us to a charity do in Dunfermline. When we got there, he invited us to sit with their families. Great night. RIP to a true gent and a real rock legend. Condolences to his family and to Pete who will be hurting right now. 🤘🎤🎶😥

Dan the Man.! A great Scottish singer, with an unique vocal style, now following in the footsteps of Scots Frankie Miller, Alex Harvey, John Martyn (Anglo Scottish) Stuart Adamson of sadly passing away all too soon. But what a musical legacy he left behind for existing fans and future generations to enjoy. Been playing some Nazareth today, brings home what a distinctive rock voice he had, and he seemed to be such a genuinely nice guy. R.I.P - Rock into enternity.

Who doesn't remember the hit "Love Hurts" that took over all the charts decades ago?
At 76, Dan McCafferty, lead singer of the band Nazareth, leaves the
scene. Since 2013, he has been away due to health problems.
“Dan died at 12:40 pm (local time) today. It's the saddest announcement I've ever had to make. Maryann and her family have lost an incredibly loving husband and father, I have lost my best friend and the world has lost one of the greatest singers that ever lived," he wrote.
The vocalist influenced bands such as Guns N 'Roses, Cinderella, Britny Fox and Bad Romance, among others.
McCafferty co-founded Nazareth in 1968 and remained with the group until 2013, when he was forced into retirement due to ill health, being replaced by Linton Osborne, and later, Carl Sentance.

I was good friend with Manny Charlton 25 July 1941 - 5 July 2022. Here it is 4 months 3 days later Dan The Man passes away. I've talked to Dan a few times and he was a cool guy,

I have had some really cool Dan solos on my channel for some time and are still posted.
Also I want to mention. Nicky Moore who played on Manny Charlton's CD "From Behind" whom passed away in August, just one month after Manny. The 1970s and 1980s artists are leaving us.
