I ended up finding this out accidentally just messing around with Finn in training mode. Really useful 👍
I could have swore the game told me how to do this somewhere. Maybe it was an official video or something. But this has always been the primary way I do a dash attack if I wasn't already running.
I know I didn't just randomly do it. Someone or something told me about it. I just assumed everybody knew this already, but based on your comment section and the video itself, I guess it wasn't common knowledge. Weird.
So is the dash attack side side with joystick and then click the attack button?
Yep. Tap tap in one direction then instantly press A/attack
I thought, this video would be about momentum shifting with dodges or additive knockback.
But i guess instant dash attacks arent so bad either.
(Could you make also make a video, covering the 2 mechanics I spoke about ?)

Yeah I’m not really sure why he thought this was ground breaking I always thought this was how you just do a dash attack on a platform fighter
It's a mix of common knowledge and people having absolutely no clue, so why not market it to the people as something ground breaking lmaoo

Aaaah ok I’ve done this a few times on accident, but this is good knowledge. It seems intentional, don’t know why they wouldn’t include this in for in the tutorial

okay so for the dash attack to happen there needs to be stars under/behind your character's feet so you need to walk like 2 steps or if you see stars that mean hitting your side attack will initiate the dash attack,had to test in training lab.Correct me if im wrong,i was so confused when i did what lostgriff did which was pacing around or juking but it just turned into a side attack instead.Cheers
Also for the IAD(Instant air dodge/dash) the same thing goes,when the stars behind your feet pops ups an indicator that when you can do the IAD.Took me the same time to realized and i thought i was slow at pressing buttons but its really just that.Its either the stars behind your character's feet OR just when your character's starts to plant their feet on the ground animation.
That makes sense. Usually in every game there's some sort of cloud or indicator like that, one that you dont realize until you really study it. For the IDA I just tap forward twice and it instantly allows me to do it.
By any chance were you a smash player before MVS?U seem to have a lot of knowledge, anyways thanks for the reply,keep up the amazing content :DD
