I met Steve once (BirdWatch Ireland: Songbirds to Seabird. 2023 with Dick Coombes). It was an excellent course and Steve was at the heart of it with his wingman Dick who delivered the excellent classes. Steve provided many other things including the apparition of the latest bird he had just ringed for all of us to wonder at. A man of heart and love for birds and their well being, for nature at large and for his people and all who met him. Thank you Steve. May you rest in peace.
