    Kyle Dake is a master of defense. He had to wrestle Burroughs and his blast double for years, Taylor with his quick offense, and Zahid with his nonstop forward offense. Dake was a matador this match.

      Yeeeaaa but zahid wasn't a challenge. He drug him for 2 straight matches

      Three of my favorite wrestlers all in one sentence/videos. Alex Dieringer, Jordan Boroughs, and Kyle Dake. All of which I've met in person

    I was there! Round rock high school!
    -after the match I went into a hallway and a woman asked if I had a wrist band indicating I had permission to be there. I inevitably did not but as I was leaving I nodded at the one and only Kyle Dake and HE NODDED BACK

      Cheeky bugger! ;)
      How do you even get permission to go to a high school wrestling match? Do they sell tickets?

      Chaos Omega yes, this event was hosted by a high school and all I had to do was show up and buy a ticket for $5

    Dake is just a winner plain and simple, it may not be pretty but he consistently steps up against the best. beat Dieringer 4x , beat david taylor many times, almost took out Jordan Burroughs. 4x national champion, world champion. = Stud muffin

    Dake is masterful here; the picture of calm. He was in, or on the edge of, the white zone for almost 4 full minutes of this match, yet he didn't give a push-out point until the very end when it was meaningless. What a game plan, what an execution!

    Dake appears to be taking on the Dave Schultz stance. I wonder if that's the stance you acquire when reaching the pinnacle for skill or something to do with aging. Either way, exciting. There's a level of calm and increased defense, but still a fierce attack when opportunities emerge.

  • @znhait
    @znhait 5 років тому +17

    Dake is a winner, but he is not fun to watch. That’s part of the reason why Dieringer is so dejected. He pushed the action for most of the match, but he still comfortably lost.

      I really want to see him wrestle Chamizo. Dake's defense vs Chamizo's theatrics. They're both so good about getting out of a hold.

    • @russgentry4848

      Question: of the elite wrestlers for the U.S. which one is the most likely to score with big moves?? From what I've seen, its Dake. I love watching him wrestle. I love watching Taylor wrestle too. Burroughs is just head control & doubles/singles... effective obviously, but he rarely scores from top, and I've NEVER seen a big move from him. J'den Cox is fun, when he attacks, but he tends to dance too much from my perspective. It's all in perspective though obviously.

    Dieringer just wrestles a little too cocky. The way he walks around... shots are just a little too flashy. I feel like his head might be a little too blown up at this point in his career. Dake has always been humble, carried himself as such and just wrestled tight. Dieringer might get there... we.ll see

      i agree, if the wrestling world ever forced him to wrestle it would be different, he is a total defensive wrestler, a good one at that since when is it ok to constantly back up and wrestle on the line? if forced to wrestle Taylor in College he would have lost, Dake is patient and has no problem winning 1-0, wrestling is getting in there and mixing it up, Dake is very good at counterring, when he is forced to wrestle JB in freestyle, he loses! USA wrestling in Loaded!

      WhiteRyno27 My god! PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO FEEL THINGS! He was losing the match (he lost) and it effected him. Nothing he did was unsportsmanlike, and he handled it well enough. We have to teach young men that it’s ok to have emotions and help them process their emotions in a healthy way that will help them learn from the experience - rather than perpetuating this myth that to be manly is to be stoic and bottle up what you are feeling. This mentality will (it does) drive people insane (it often causes men to do dangerous things to themselves and others)

    • @Bigfluffinfluff
      @Bigfluffinfluff 5 років тому

      @@masonalexander3804 i dont think he shouldnt bottle up his emotions. The out of bounds push offs look horrible. Laying on the mat after the final whistle too is ridiculous. Shake hands and go cry in the tunnel. Obviously its going to hurt but the way he shook hands too was pathetic. Shake hands and give respect. This is wrestling not theater.
