In the community of The Battle Cats, we have a term known as "powercreep" where a unit is so over leveled that it just annihilates any stage you use it in. Guide makers tend to use under leveled units to avoid this. This sniper, right here, is the very definition of powercreep. And I love it.
Actually powercreep is in many shooter or strategy games. It's a term used when devs add a new item, character, unit in your case, that's power is disproportional to other units, items, etc. that were released before. They are made stronger to be fun, or counter a dominant strategy completely without breaking the game, or just without releasing their "OPness". It's really dominant in moba and rpg games, like LoL, sometimes shooters like Overwatch, also in Battle Cats. So saying "in the battle cats community" is a bit strong, because it exists elsewhere. Also, it's a mod, not made by the dev, so it won't be as balanced. So this technically isn't powercreep.

Flak is insane when upgraded with this mod, first turns into a shotgun but after a few ranks it removes the entire front of the enemy base if it's metal, if not you've already won. 20mm and canons are actually rather underwhelming with this mod, compared to how strong other fast firing weapons get atleast.
Incursus, have you made a Forts tutorial? I think a lot of players would benefit from having more understanding of how you should start a game, and what are the doc's and don'ts of base building
The enemy built armor in the front but Incursus just ignored the armor. That base falling backwards was a rare occurrence, most of the time bases fall forwards.

I just watched an old video from ~18 months ago where Incursus built like three layers criss-cross metal armor in front of his core after getting one whole cannon shot (not even hitting near his core). By this point in the match it was 4v2, shortly after 4v1, and less than a minute later the fourth opponent takes a laser shot to the core to end the match.
What might have been going on with the teammate, as he never cross-braced, is that he's probably had a base collapse due to enemy fire before, and took home the lesson that he needs to heavenly fortify that part of the base. When, instead, he needed to learn that a base that's properly cross--braced is less likely to fall down.

I know this vid came out a year ago, but recently i played around a bit with this mod, and the upgrades aren't quite infinite. Eventually you get to the point where you can't upgrade anymore. My sniper could fire through multiple layers of wood and exit the other side. Still quite insane though

Just a little happy turbine here and some nice little sandbag fellas there, ohh and watch this, there I made a happy little sniper, isn't he georgeous. Instant killing the other cores. Sweeeeeet.
I might be wrong as I haven't played the game, but in theory having more batteries and metal storage would be a net positive for you. You tend to leave both capped and not producing resources from time to time so they would pay for themelves pretty quickly. Assuming they're not wasting important space, not at risk of blowing your base, and a bunch of other caveats. But pure numbers you'd do well to produce more of each.
The real life equivalent of this can only be the rain gun. The rail gun being developed by the US navy comes close to this fire rate of 1 shot every 2 seconds, or 30 shots per minute. To add to this, rail guns are very accurate and can pierce many layers of heavy armor. However, where snipey is supreme is the fact that rail gun overheat after an amount of shots
for the record, I'm on a pretty small phone and I can read the info in top left perfectly fine, it's very nice to get an idea of the timeframe for us too imo :D

Combine infinite upgrades, with portals (particle accelerator) then you can shoot a lightning right into the core
