This gotta be one of THE best anime intros of all time
such a beautiful and cool anime to watch I don't know how it didn't make an explosion like Sailor moon and sakura card captor even so it was well known and it was a novelty and a big bomb in its year
It bombed because the marketing and merchandising departments were absolute morons. People watched and loved the series, but these series depended on merchandise. The toys could've been advertised a bit better, but they really didn't need to spend money putting Ririka's face on SAUSAGES.

It's funny, I loved the manga's ending, but so much of the anime was far better, particularly with Seiya. I loved how Seiya became such a major participant in the battles, determined to protect Ririka just as she protected him. Just a pity they weren't able to make it to the end where...
in order to gain the power to save his life a 14-year-old Ririka has to admit that she's always been in love with him, kissing him before he can respond. And then when they return from Kanon and Helena's wedding, Seiya suggests they can meet again when they invite everyone to their own wedding, and instead of getting mad or refusing, she just says "great idea, you're a genius! Let's get married as soon as we possibly can!"
