Actually the KFX is considered the best 450 trail Quad as far as the performance based 450's go. Seen quite a few vids on it. Looks fun as hell in the woods. Keep it off a track though. It's definitely no where near as fast as the newer 450's
Man I've wanted a kfx since they came out never got one until this year after riding all of the 450s (except KTM and outlaw) it's not super impressive I can't say it's better or worse than others but I love it I have kx450r cams weisco 12.5/1 piston full fmf powerbomb into powercore 4 fmf programmer it's a trail monster on a straight flat not so much lol
You’re prob running lean with that fireball backfire and in the comments you said the header gets red hot. Both signs of running lean. Don’t know who programmed the ecu but it might need a little adjustment.
I Own both a kfx 450r and a YFZ 450. Riding comfortability the kfx wins. For power and speed the YFZ. If you want the best of both worlds. Get a banshee. I own all 3.
A little late here… but I’m interested in running an open air box on my kfx. I was curious if you had any problems from the open air box or how frequently you had to change the air filter? Thanks.
Never had any issues with it but sadly I didn’t have it very long. I’d hop on the KFX forums and let everyone know what type of riding you do and get their opinion.
I'm looking to move up to my first 450 next year and am now seriously considering a KFX. Have you had any issues with the front suspension and twitchy steering?
Very nice. I just sold my Honda 450R and this is on my consideration list I actually need something more for the woods behind the is more high strung and wants to be rode fast and hard all the time. Even with a carburetor everything being equal the 450R will walk away from the Kawasaki and a drag race not trying to say one's better than the other I like them both like I said I'm even considering getting one. I have a 2021 Honda Foreman I taught my wife how to ride it now she loves the damn thing and I have to get me something else LOL
If you’re coming from a 400 or smaller then I think this quad is perfect. If you’re a track rider, you could either build the motor and suspension on a KFX or just get a Yamaha or Honda. Either way I think this quad is awesome. I actually just sold it but I regret it bad
@@loganhill3853 I just sat in my post I sold my 450 Honda. The Honda is too fast for woods riding I don't do Motocross or nothing like that this is just the ride through the woods with my wife that are just now learning how to ride
@@loganhill3853 I don't necessarily want to rip through the woods I just want to ride around 25 miles an hour in the tight stuff that would be the fastest I would ride it a lot of time slower than that until I get out in the open of
Most of the guys I know that I raced MX with have said to stay away from wrapping your header. Holds in the heat on your header and eventually can mess up your motor in extreme cases. Also wears your header pipe out ... fast. KFXs are sweet looking 450s. You’ll have a blast I’m sure. Big step up from a 400 Congrats bro.
@@loganhill3853 i think the red header is a normal thing in the dark time i have a trx450r and in the night time the header glows red and in the day it doesn’t well you just can’t see it * as long as you check your spark plug and make sure your not running rich you should be good

Yes the fact that it has reverse is a huge plus. Honda guy here as well.

an athena 480 or 500 or even a 510 big bore wakes the quad up a WHOLE lot also with a pipe and a tune yea it’s a monster

The best thing is that it has almost enough power to hang with the big dogs but also has reverse.

They were already on the bike when I got it. Hiper carbon wheels and the Sun F tires hook awesome

You can tell that it could use upgraded suspension. On the trails it’s fine but if you’re wanting to track ride it’s worth doing an upgrade
Are those the heel guards from eBay? Just wondering if you like them or not.
They are alba bars. They work good but one of the mounts did break so not sure if that's a testimate to their durability or not.

Does the bumper block the headlights at all?
That’s a newer style dasa the old exhaust has 4 bolts the new one has 8

What about the pipe it gets to hot that burn your leg?
I haven't had that happen yet, but the header has gotten red hot before. I am going to take off the exhaust wrap and see if that helps with the heat.

Yes it has plenty of power to wheelie, most of my riding has been in the dirt and it just wants to spin the tires.
