Nene gives the chase. They know this. Part of pranks. But seems some of this was due to food, being lunch was about to be served. Awaiting next video😃🦍

Shabani sees NeNe being picked on and instead of helping her, he joins in? The son shouldn't be influencing the father.
I’m confused! Is Shabani looking for Kiyo’s approval? Is that why he started attacking Nene shortly after Kiyo? Nene has her issues but she certainly don’t deserve this abuse!! She’s the first one that stands up for that brat of her’s, yet he turns on her every chance he gets! Shabani need to find his balls and the Zoo need to get Kiyo out of there!!
I just watched a video by Something About Gorilla's. I think this incident lead up to the upheaval. Watch it if you can. It all makes sense now.
Shabani did grow a pair of balls in that video, it looks like he did & Kiyo has gone into hiding.
He would have to kill Nene. With Nene there he has no control over her daughter or her son.
Shabani tapped on those bars before he attacked Nene. That is where Nene is fed from.

It’s always the innocent Mommies that still loves & protects their children even when they are growing into adults, stands up for them, worries about them then takes a beating or two from them. Then, still loves them, protects them, etc…

Why are the zookeepers allowing this to go on. She is soo stressed. Put a water hose on them or separate her from them. Cruel.
I don't know if zookeepers can intervene in the everyday interactions and hierarchy of the gorilla's lives. Isn't the ideal of zoo habitats to maintain the exhibited animals as close as possible to their natural behavior, unless life threatening or dangerous? Some zoos have reported using sedatives to calm/destress the animals.
Separating Nene from her family would make her so stressed! That would not solve anything. The zookeepers don't intervene on a daily basis, as it isn't helpful. They are gorillas, not humans, and it is best to let them live as natural as possible for captivity. They have their own natural behaviours! You are speaking from a human perspective and projecting human emotions onto Nene. Zookeepers should only intervene if one of the Gorillas is severely hurt or the risk of death. Other than that, they monitor a situation in the background.

Great move by Shabani...Kiyo attacks Nene; It's very heavy, Sabani watches and diverts Kiyo's attention by doing the usual thing...hitting Nene on the head.
Kiyo calms down but then returns to the attack with Nene. Shabani displays his muscles like a mountain in front of Kiyo and the problem ends...for the moment!
It seems to me that Kiyo imitates his father's game with respect to Nene.
Shabani has to prove he's the head of the family and protect grandma this horrible

Where the heck are Ai and Annie? I’ve always seen that the females of a gorilla troop will come together and go after the Silverback if he starts hitting one of them. I guess it’s just animal nature to pick on the old and the weak. It’s so sad that our frail old girl, Nene, seems to have no backup from anyone. If we decide to keep these beautiful creatures in a zoo the very least we can do is to ensure their safety. The zookeepers should maybe separate her from the others. It is not uncommon for a male gorilla to kill his mate. I believe there was a female gorilla in Japan who died as a result of her injuries after being beaten by her mate. I just wish Nene could eat and live in peace. My heart breaks seeing her treated so roughly and not one female standing up for her. 😢
Yes, true about Hiromi, mother of Genki who is Momotaro wife, was so badly injured by her Silverback she had to be euthanized. 😞♥

also, kiyo is learning. he knows that if he wants to be alpha, he has to "play" with nene like shabani does, but really i think their play has evolved into just picking on poor nene, who can't defend herself

I think it’s because she’s the weakest. Easy to dominate and show their authority over.

It's very common for a blackback to pick on their mothers. Look at Gentaro and Lope (to mention a few), they did/ and in Gentaro's case, he still does. It's a dominance thing.
I still say Kiamosa, Gentaro and Lope would make the best bachelor group. They are all around the same age.lope is already heading to France very soon. I wonder who would be the alpha in that scenario ? I bet Kiamosa or Lope, but Gentaro is the smartest😊

1:00 🤔 Both Kiyomasa and Shabani (father and son) are a LOT alike. Both have lots of energy, very cheeky personalities 🤭, and at times tend to get bored and restless 2:38. That's when the trouble starts 3:13 🤨. Well, we've seen it before. The hormonal ⌚clock is ticking. A black back teen (Gentaro) messes with his mother 3:38. These are gorillas, and obviously age to them doesn't matter. 4:33 But whose fault is it? Shabani's! Kiyomasa has learned from the best at this game of "tag Nene and run" shannanigans. 🤔 Now that I think about it, over the years it's probably why Nene is still climbing and running considerably well for her advantage age. It doesn't help that Kiyomasa is 🤪 from raging 🔥💣 hormones playing a big part, but again we know that black backs love to push the boundaries, and antagonize. That's when we also know Kiyo is ready for his mate, and own family. I'm not making excuses for Kiyo, but again these are gorillas 🤷. Nene would much rather be doing one of her favorite things...sitting on the grass in the warm sun, and curiously looking out the small window at visitors, but she's really one tough 🍪 cookie. In this video she's just annoyed. When she's reached her utmost limit she is extremely vocal with her bark ⚠️ warnings and fussing. 7:57 Shaking my head. 🤦 Oh for the love of primates. Shabani, you are definitely leading by example, right? 🤭
Hi mate agree with all of the above, I disagree with it being Shabs fault, it's entirely on the zoo who should have moved him a year ago. Kiyomasa would be dead or severely hurt if. Shabs is a caring dad. Watch this space.🤔🙋

That alarm scream/bark combo she does cracks me up, and she does get everyone's attention when she sounds her 🗣️ alarm. Sometimes she waves an arm around. In the other one something happened in the basement & Kiyo was hiding from Shabani until the end of the video, once Kiyo had all the females behind him he provoked Shabani & Shabs went for him, Nene & Ai started going for Shabani & the old girl went full phycho on him.😜 Bit him on the ass or grabbed it? This must have been before the tension that happened inside and if so, perhaps Shabani is trying to discipline Kiyo because of this. But if this is after the fight, then Kiyo is projecting his anger to his mother or his provoking Shabani to establish dominance. But.... i really dont feel any pity for Nene because she did this to herself. Touch her son and you will have a ferocious old female gorilla running at you. In Shabani's mind, well i tried and you went against me instead so yeah... "you do you boo, let me know how i can help next time." 😂

Babies should not be interacting like this. They are pushing humans around and that should not be part of their upbringing . They could become dangerous to handle by the keepers. Not worth it just to get s few bucks from tourist trade.

What a horrible thing to do, Kiyo attacks his elderly mother and his father, her alleged protector joins in? When she dies from cardiac arrest I hope that the zoo don't pretend to be "saddened and shocked". We all know how this is going to play out, and it'll be because all the zoo see are ££££ signs! Disgusting.
The tension occurred when Nene got special food given to her. Annie protested and started bugging Nene. Tension was created by treating Nene with special food and not everyone else got any. Even Ai was acting like a bully to Annie when Annie was by the cage trying to get food as well.
