  • Watch the first dance group performance of Celebration 1982 - the Tlingit group Mount Saint Elias Dancers of Yakutat. This is their first of two performances they had during Celebration 1982.
Celebration is a biennial festival of Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures held in the Southeast Alaska community of Juneau. The four-day event includes dance performances and associated events such as a Native art market, lectures, a juried art show and competition, traditional food contests, and a parade through downtown Juneau. First held in 1982, Celebration has grown into one of the largest events in Alaska, drawing thousands of people.
Everyone is welcome to this community event, held every even year in June. For information on the next Celebration, visit www.sealaskahe...
