I’ve had a total of 6 failure to feed in the first 500 rounds. All came from Magtech 124 gr ammo. Four of them occurred from the same box of 50. Haven’t had any issues with Blazer, Federal HST, Critical Duty, or Sierra JHP. All 124 gr. Yes, I have an optic mounted, but also used shorter screws from Freedom Gorilla.
Great to hear yours worked itself out. That seems to be what mine is doing as well. Only 1 FTF in the last 200+ rounds. I’ve had FTFs on 3 different ammo types though. These are ammo I’ve run through my P07 and S2C without any failures at all.
I absolutely love my P07! I was hoping this would be an upgrade, but so far it’s had its issues obviously. Had it out again Saturday for another 200 rounds and only had 1 malfunction, so maybe it’s starting to work itself out. We will see
Yea I shot another 200 rounds in Saturday and it did better but still had a malfunction. The good thing is they seem to becoming less and less. Hoping it just smooths out.
I got the Nocturne model as soon as it came out on the market since I had pre-ordered it, as soon as I had it in my hands I shot 500 rounds of different brands of 115 grains (200) and 124 grains (200) and finally 100 rounds of 124 grain +P Federal without the red dot optic. Afterwards I installed the Holosun 407K optic and shot the same as I mentioned above for a total of 1000 rounds and I did not have any malfunctions.
@@ChristianGrest What I actually did was upgrade because it is one of my favorite weapons since I carried the P-07 model for many years and never had any problems.
I really like my p-07 and I thought the p-o9 nocturne was a great next step. Now after your video and others all showing a reliability issue (small though it might be) that I've never had with the P-07, I'm wondering if my $$$ isn't better spent getting an optics cut on my 7 rather then buying a hinky 9.
I recently passed 1K rounds on it and the issues seemed to disappear after 400-500 rounds. I had no more than 10 total FTFs between 100-500 rounds. Not sure what the issue was, but it’s running great! Will have a full video out soon on it. Others haven’t had any issues. I sure was surprised after how well my P07 runs. Thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks! I have fired over 500 and no problems with reloading and ejection. Without optics and with Vortex Defender. All S&B 124g or S&B 124g Nontox The problem I have is that sometimes the slide catches and the magazine has the last round left.
Thanks! Yea the S&B 124gr seems to run better, but still have some malfunctions. Shot another 200 rounds on Saturday and had only 1. Hopefully that’s a sign it’s going to start running better.
@@ChristianGrest I still don't understand why the Nocturne has problems when the P07/09 were completely flawless. That's why I bought Nocturne, I didn't expect problems.
@@jboss007 I think everyone has been surprised. There have been plenty of folks that have not had any issues, just to be fair. But one would think the old P07/09 reliability would carry over to a refreshed model. Definitely frustrating
Yup it is what it is. Shot another 200 on Saturday and only had 1 malfunction. Hoping that’s a sign it’s going to start running properly. Thanks brother! Hope you have a great week!
I appreciate the suggestion. Was aware of that issue when I installed the optic. The screws are 8MM shorter screws. The issue that causes is an extraction issue, not a failure to feed. 2 totally different problems.
Seems like a mixed bag. Some folk have had issues others not. Most with the optic issue have had extraction problems. I’ve not experienced that. I did have it out again yesterday and only had one malfunction in 200 rounds so that’s starting to look better.
My P07 has been 100%. I do like this updated version and I believe I can get it running 100%, so I wouldn't necessarily let my issues cause you to pass. I know there's many folks who haven't had any issues whatsoever.
Dang, so does it mostly look like the p07 mags causing the issues? What gets me is I thought they just did some cosmetic changes, how is this affecting reliability?
No it’s any of the mags and 3 different types of ammo. Put another couple 100 rounds through it yesterday. Had only 1 malfunction, so I’m hoping it’s just working itself out.
I always try a variety of ammo just in case I get some bad stuff. Had issues with 2 out of 3 different ammo types this trip. Yesterday I had issues with the 3rd type. The good thing is the failures have seemed to be less and less.
I have seen some people saying the issue is the screws for the optics on the springs. Not saying this is the issue but it is not uncommon for th s to be the problem
Yea that’s been something a lot of folks have said, but it’s not an extraction issue. I was also aware of this when I installed the optic, so I used the shortest screws I could.
One of the screws it probably interfering with proper function. This has been a problem with Glocks for a while. One screw typically needed to be shortened to avoid touching the extractor plunger.
If it was an extraction issue, then I would tend to agree. The only malfunctions I’ve had have been failures to feed or failure to go into battery. During firing and dropping the slide on a full magazine. When I installed the optic, I was already aware of the screw issue. With that said, I shot another 200 rounds and only had 1 malfunction. I’m hoping whatever the issue is, it’s starting to work itself out.
@@jboss007 I keep seeing this info spouted by multiple sources, whereas multiple sources disagree. I guess I’ll be inspecting when I strip the slide apart
@@ChristianGrest All you need to do to check for extractor interference is to take your thumbnail and push on the extractor next to the loaded chamber indicator pin. If it pushes in and springs back freely then nothing is interfering with it! Plus it has already been proven that the screw hole does not go into the extractor area, there is no through hole to allow contact.
No, but some of the CZ mags can be overfilled. I found that out the hard way. When you overfill them, the slide won’t strip the top round out of the mag.
Listen, don’t buy into the obsession with optics. It’s just the industry trying to sell you something else. Learn to use your gun, work on your grip and practice, practice, practice.
I shoot my P07 very well! Used to shoot across the course service rifle matches out to 600 yards with irons. I’m a fan of irons, no doubt. But it’s nice to have options!
With Nocturne, the optics are placed directly on the slide. The irons are still usable. I have a Vortex Defender on my P09c and simply have the dot off, I also prefer irons. But sometimes, especially at a longer distance, a dot is good. I like the choice on this gun.
Got one in September. >500 rounds so far. 2 RTB issues on 1st magazine. No other issues until >400 rounds when I tried testing various defensive rounds. Found issues with the US Cartridge 147GR JHP with every one not feeding correctly causing slide to jam hard. Tried same ammo in another CZ with the same issues, so I can't run US Cartridge 147GR JHP in CZ. US Cartridge 124GR JHP works just fine. Definitely ammo related failures for me. Like my CZ Pistols.
Nice! Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve had issues with a variety of ammo, so definitely not ammo related, but the last time out I only had 1 FTF in 200 rounds. Hope things are working itself out. I might try a polishing the feedramp a tad if I keep having issues. Thanks for watching!

Nonsense with CZ, this is not a Glock, the length of the bolt has no effect.
