I fell in love with pampas and planted it in my front yard. Then I did the research I should’ve done before planting, and realized I had to dig it out. I planted my pampas’s in a big deep container and it flourished beautifully. It ain’t going nowhere. And I can move it for privacy wherever I want 👍
I appreciate the discussion of invasive plants - so many plants are problematic in certain situations, so it warrants educating the public. Living in zone 5 many of these cultivars struggle to survive an average winter. I like the idea of getting the local "invasive species" list for everyone.
Would have been nice, especially since you're in OK, to mention some native prairie grasses like Little Bluestem, Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Pink Muhly, and Switchgrass.
We love our native grasses also! This was a series of videos on grasses. Check out this video where we do talk about natives. ua-cam.com/video/G0QYCutB4HI/v-deo.htmlsi=4gDj9VcrEhU_B3ss We also have videos on "not true grasses" and "shade grasses". Thanks for watching!
@@OklahomaGardeningOh, I'm sorry, I should've looked at your Grasses playlist before commenting. I just watched the Natives video and you covered all the ones I mentioned. We sure do have some beautiful native grasses! Thanks for the reply.
what i would find really helpful (anyone?) would be a (20 min+) video of ALL the various types of grasses. best of all would be a spilt screen, divided into four sub squares showing the following in each of the four quarters: 1: the (pre-flowering) foliage 2: plant with infloresence 3:close up of spikelets 4: the plant as it looks in winter and finally, full screen video footage of how the mature plant moves/sounds in a breeze (for grass gardeners).
I have about 12 maiden grasses on my property this past year was there 2nd summer my grass on the end doesn't look so good any suggestions for when I cut back for spring to help it grow?
This was a helpful video. It sounds like you're saying "heigth" with a "th" sound at the end of the word - when in fact, it is "height" with a hard "t" sound at the end - just like weight. FYI.

Hi grass is fantastic and I have pampas grass ❤❤❤
Would these grow in lower Michigan..
Why even suggesting invasive plants?
For people like me. I have about 160 acre and want a lot to fill in
@@leesa9615 makes sense…
I know 😂. Not hard to control if your not stupid. But yeah with 160 acres I see why you'd need the infomation
@@leesa9615 Plant native grasses. I'd recommend Big Bluestem and Indiangrass.
Having seen pampas grass run rampant in coastal California, I don’t think Pampas Grass should ever be recommended..
Where at? I want to get some lol
