- Free Motion Embroidery / Thread Painting on any sewing machine. Everyone at any skill level can embroider on ALL sewing machines capable of doing free-motion because we only use a straight stitch and NO sewing machine Foot is needed so visibility is far superior to any other embroidery process.

I'm so glad to have provided the world with a pain-free method of accomplishing free-motion embroidery and free-motion quilting.... :)
Thank you! It's so nice to know how happy you all are :) with my Octi-Hoops and the Videos :)
I have no interest in the product but I still watched the entire video... I feel so relaxed now
Haha me too
Same !! 😁😀
I have been experimenting with Free-Standing lace... you can do so with 2 elements 1) Stick and Rinse stabilizer on back of frame 2 Bridal illusion or Tulle on top. Have the design printed on the stabilizer in a light color ink or use a wash away pen.
Some threads are more likely to hold the ink like Cotton or Silk. Be mindful of the color ink used and use markers that match the thread color or use wash away markers and trace instead of printing on the Stick and Rinse Stabilizer.
I'm so happy you're so happy with my presentation... I'm going to be offering you all so much more! Many UA-cam Videos to come!
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
I use the universal 90/14 during the quilting process, a stretch 75/11 during embroidery - of course at all shows all I use all day long is a 90/14 Universal needle. So, if that's all you have, use that and have fun! :)
Absolutely! Yes, You can embroider on any fabric using our Octi-Hoops... :)
is that a painted sewing machine. it is truly a work of art.
EVERYONE WRITE THIS VIDEOGRAPHER SHE HAS A FANTASTIC PRODUCT PLEASE ASK HER REPEATEDLY TO DO A "FREE-STANDING LACE" VIDEO OKAY! YOU'VE GOT TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY PIECE OF CRAP SEWING MACHINE YOU CAN LOOK LIKE A GENIUS. SO EVERYONE GET ON HER CASE MAKE HER MAKE THE VIDEO WE WOMEN WITH SEWING MACHINES ALL WANT TO SEE!!!
This tutorial is soooo AMAZING, I am new to sewing but can't wait until I advance to this stage. I absolutely love it!
Don't wait! Children a young as 3 can do this. :)
Great timing for this vid, I have just ordered a set and they are on their way as I type. Can't wait to experiment with them. Want to do some quilting without getting sore wrists.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR cr8ing these hoops. AND VIDS
The price has been lowered and the popularity is growing!
Grazie per questo Tuo video; veramente ben fatto ed esauriente! Complimenti vivissimi!
These hoops are used on machines that SEW - if your machine can SEW, with a straight stitch, you can do all that you see on this video.
***The only machine that cannot do "Free-Motion" is the (Elna Dive 6000) and there are 2 machines (both made by Brother, so in essence the same machine) they are the "Brother 8500D" (only that model of Brother machines) and the "Baby Lock ESE2" (only that model in the Baby Lock line of machines) because they have an issue if you don't use a foot. all other YES!
How wonderful! I have an antique seiwng machine I use, and I am so happy to hear of this device!
:)
Well, Dad always said, "Pick up your Foot"
& Mom was always Sewin' so this makes sense finally :D
Excellent. Great, no awesome hoops!
Thankyou for sharing this video. Learning a lot.
Nice machine decoration! I've been thinking for some time decorating my machine too.
You should! I enjoy it so much!
It's Stick and Rinse found on our website
That was beautiful, thank you. I never thought it would be possible to paint with a sewing machine. Very inspirational, well done... :-)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the machine :)
Clare, You are amazing, girl!!! I have just Got to have the Octi-Hoops.....I understand they are your invention!! I absolutely love them. I just joined Creativefeet.com. This would be by far the best technique for machine free motion embroidery!!!
Hi! Great Tutorial and introduction to the Inkjet Dissolve Template Product! And I must say that, after watching over 20 UA-cam Videos on Free Motion Quilting, I finally got to watch your talented approach to filling in large embroidery areas! And you did your thing with a straight stitch (not even a narrow or wide zig zag stitch as I had earlier suspected I should do). Thanks!
I'm glad that this tutorial has helped you see how beneficial it is to use a straight stitch - I suppose until I Invented my Octi-Hoops, the movement of filling in didn't feel like drawing, so using a straight stitch didn't feel natural or logical. Using a zigzag stitch does lay down more thread than a straight stitch and you can combine to two should you ever want to fill in faster. Of course, using a zigzag stitch poses new issues and is more challenging than the straight stitch - I'll be covering that in future videos. Thanks for watching! 💗 You will find the Octi-Hoops, the Stick and Tear and my printable Stick and Rinse at www.creativefeet.com
No- it's safe and the way it was done prior to the late 80's - with our hoops your needle doesn't lift the fabric making it easy to embroider and quilt... it's healthier as well because you don't lean forward and scrunch down trying to look under the foot. The foot also causes puckers - so, with the foot out of the way you can see where you're going - never lowering the needle either protects it from breaking... :)
I have just bought a singer 20u which sews perfect with foot but freehand won't pickup stitches. So grateful for your help
Because your machine is intended for thick fabric, you may need to adjust your Hook closer to the needle in order to use thin enough needles to do embroidery with it. You must lower the foot despite not having a foot on the machine and then, it is unlikely to work without my Octi-Hoops, because no other hoop holds or supports the fabric as well as they do. www.creativefeet.com/products/octi-hoops
Love this
Impressive! can't believe I never thought of this! I was searching for an embroidery machine, but this is genius !
Did it work out for you?
I have now... It's Stick and Rinse found on creativefeet site.
wow great video..I love how you deliver EVERYTHING!! I am so subscribing!!!
this actually looks so cool
It is 😁
I think somebody had more fun decorating the machine
lovely work! very nice...Thank you...
That hoop set is almost $200! You can get an embroidery machine for a little more than that!
+Melatina77 These hoops are actually only $79.00 and they do more than embroidery :) Be sure to view more of the videos on my Creative Notions section to see all the amazing things you can do with your regular straight stitch sewing machine! :) FUN FUN!!
Clare Rowley I'm sorry, I only check Amazon which usually has the best prices for stuff. I do think these would be fun. Thanks.
+Melatina77 you're welcome :) creativefeet.com
WHERE do you buy an embroidery machine for that little?? \\\\\\Nothing decent under 8k
This is not an embroidery machine, this is a free-motion hoop kit that makes it so you can embroider like an embroidery machine using your regular sewing machine. They are called Octi-Hoops found at www.creativefeet.com
This is brilliant! I am so in love with your sewing machine as
well, did you decorate it yourself?
this was a great video, I am wanting to learn to machine embroider. so thanks for the great share! hugs
You're so welcome! Get ready for a lot more videos using the Octi-HOOPS! :)
can i use this to do a cardigans?new to sew and sewing machines thank you for your help love this video was very helpful
Yes, I have recently released a DVD on how to Paint your Sewing Machine - so you can have one that looks like mine:) Look on my official site creativefeet with the dot com following and visit the Books and DVD's page.
This is super cool, I would have liked to have seen this on a before and after denim jacket or some pc of clothing.
Mia V You can embroider on any fabric, sounds like a fun video to make for you, thanks for the idea!
Will try to find a shop that sells it here, should not be too hard, may try Cushla's!
What size needle and thread do you use and do you have to change the tension on the machine!!!!
Hi Clare, can I use a brother se400 with this octo-hoop? or it has to be a specific machine?
Also what quality thread and what needle thickness do you use, or it also depends on the job.
Thank you.
Nice
can you plz tell me how to remove feeder feet
What brand of water soluble printable stabilizer are you using?
Where do you get the Octi-Hoops? And are there other designs than the dragonfly?
Hi Clare, I love your videos - very informative! Can you tell me what stitch you used as a fill stitch in the purple areas - was it just a straight stitch or a satin/zig-zag? Many thanks
A straight stitch 😁 thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply - I have tried to fill-in with a straight stitch but always find it’s a bit too thin! Do you have a tip as to how to make the stitching thicker to facilitate the fill-in. Perhaps it’s a thread issue? I also need to get these hoops! Do you ship to the UK?
@@sashandveil3230 moving hands faster than the machine sews, made much easier with my Octi-Hoops. Without them this normally breaks needles because of the thread tension. We just reduced the price!
Where can I buy those octi-hoops online? and this self-adhesive stabiliser? I love your video and really want to start emroidering! :):):)
Anna Białek You'll find them on the creativefeet.com website and at some sewing machine dealers and quilt supply stores. Best thing to do is call around to stores and see if they carry the Octi-Hoops and if they don't know what they are, let them know you'd like to have them carry the supplies. It's so much fun!
Thank you - this machine is a Janome - and It was painted using the How to Paint Your Sewing Machine DVD
Thank you for the tutorial.
thank you soo much ma'm! :)
I love the design on your sewing machine , did u do them or the sewing machine came like that?
redginger100 I painted the sewing machine :) You'll find a fast motion video of me painting a machine on my channel to see me paint one and you can buy a video from creativefeet.com on How to Paint your Sewing Machine :)
Thank you! :)
This is so cool! It can be used on any kind of sewing machine? Is there a starter kit?
Joel Thigpen Yes! Go to www.creativefeet.com
I love it
How to adjust tension/width/stich length I try to make but stich is not proper pl pl tell me
+Umesh Nilekani In this video I use only a straight stitch. You should have received instructions with my Octi-Hoop kit and it lists the settings. However feel free to ask me more questions. If you're attempting this without my Octi-Hoops, then that is the issue. :)
Those hoops are so clever. I'll order a set soon.Do you think this can be done on the brother computerised cs6000i?
Yes! :)
Is it dangerous without a presser foot?
Placing your fingers near the needle while looking at your fingers might cause you to strike your fingers. The handles take that risk away. I sew, quilt and embroider without a foot. It's really safe as long as you follow instructions.
Some people sew through their fingers with a foot, humans. .. 😬
Clare Rowley thx!!
isn't it unsafe to not use at least a free motion quilting foot?
I'd like to get a set of octihoops. What is your web site please
linda russell Well, I'm not sure how I missed this comment and I'd never want to not respond to anyone ((HUG)) you'll find them, if you haven't already at creativefeet.com
Can we use this in brother nv55p. Please help. It has seven foot feed dog
Can i do this with a singer 6180?
Yes you can! Sorry it's taken so long to reply -
I'm trying the free hand embroidery and for some reason the string is getting tangled underneath and ripping? Is there a way to fix it?
Are you using my Octi-Hoops? If yes, then it may be that your machine has a burr on the hook, that you threaded the machine with the foot lowered, you threaded the machine and left the foot lever up, that the thread that you are using isn't feeding off the spool well, that the fabric isn't being held taught as you stitch or that your machine's needle is needing to be replaced.
You are welcome to contact me via www.creativefeet.com or inside of my free online school - or you may call me for help. You can send a pic to info@creativefeet.com so I can see the results you're getting.
You will find our hoops on the link within the video description and other designs can be found on the Octi-Hoops page. You are also able to use any design you like if you're embroidering for yourself or as a gift. You should only use designs that are free license or not copyright protected. I give you free license designs in the kit and on the website.
Do you use bobbin thread or just top thread only?
Rachel Smith In order for the sewing machine to stitch, it needs a bobbin thread, so I'm thinking you're asking if I match my top and bobbin threads and yes. I prefer to match the colors and have it look the same top and bottom - however, if the bottom doesn't need to look pretty when complete, I use colors that are close and don't worry too much about if they are exact.
Will try in New Zealand, I am impressed!! Will it be okay for my Elna 6003?
+Tineke Williams Yes :)
I'm in NZ too, any chance u have found it here please?
We ship world-wide you can order from us if you can't locate it near you. www.creativefeet.com
+Clare Rowley thanx I will hav to check postage rates. sadly they r usually quite high & exchange rate is over double at mo so will wait a bit & hope ! :)
---> jynclr: Did she respond to you and tell you what kind of water soluble printer stabilizer she was using? If anyone else out there knows what kind of stabilizer she is using or one that would do the same, please let me know. Thanks!
very pretty good job. Where did you get that colorful sewing machine?
Darlene Nelson they probably decorated it
Beautiful
I love your voice btw
Awe, thank you 😊
love this
Want to know more about the printing templates. Where do I buy the template?
+Betty “BettyBoopy28” Boop The product is Stick and Rinse found under the Stabilizers link at creativefeet.com where you can learn more about it. :)
can i do this with a brother L14? great video, thanks!
Poetically Proven YES! You can :) Cute machine :)
I couldn't do what your doing, manually, I would want to put it in the machine for it to do the work for me, allowing me to do other things.
Mark McCann You can but if you don't want to - then an embroidery machine is a better option.
Thank you for your responses, will any of the digitizing software work on any computerised embroidery machine, obviously some basic machines have not too large an LCD screen so do you operate it from an open window via the software on your laptop and send instructions to the machine to start embroidering it? I am planning on starting my own line of clothing so I will be looking for a good machine but not too expensive. Just one that will do the job and not ruin any good reputation I build up. Keep customers coming back for more every month. Get repeat business out of them. Are the brother machines you mentioned good ones? I kind of steered towards the Janome range? Any thoughts on the make?
Hi Clare, Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction, I'm looking for an embroidery machine, a computerised one that allows me to embroider my own designs, don't wish to use pre-made designs from a cd, I have my own designs which I would like to feed into the machine and stitch a logo onto a shirt pocket or chest area, costing less than $1500, is this possible?
Mark McCann I'm not in the business of selling sewing machines - go to the sewing machine dealers in your area for an evaluation of price and features. There are software programs that allow you to digitize your own designs like www.embird.com and www.buzztools.com and www.sewart.com that are affordable - if you're able to artistically desing your own vector art - you'll see the value and be able to determine which will suffice. Enjoy your sewing machine searching :)
Mark McCann Check into either a Brothers PE700 or PE400, they will allow you to use a program to digitize your art work and then set up the stitches , SewArt or Sophiesews are both good programs... get a machine that allows the bigger hoops to be use. I hope this helps.

Great tutorial.. 👍💐
Such a great tutorial!
what type of embroidery thread you have used
Rashida Kapadia I use a 40 weight polyester thread. The brand I used for this project was Marathon but I also sew with Isacord and Robison Anton - if you look at the thread and it has a sheen that you like, feel the thread and look to see that it doesn't have a lot of bumps. Use these threads with my Thread Dispenser for hours of non-stop embroidery without breaking thread. You can find it at www.creativefeet.com under the Accessories Link.
I want one but I am too poor! Lower the price please lol!!!
Only have a color laser printer. Can I use it with your products?
This would melt in the hot drum on the laser 🖨️ sorry but you can trade on it with Sharpie markers.
Inspiring.👍👏
Hi What attachment do you have on the needle?
There is nothing on the needle. :)
So where do I get the Octi-Hoops to buy
www.creativefeet.com
Mery pass pc 6000 brother sewing machine ha but mjy use krna nhi ata plz us ki video bnya na ap.pc 6000 model ki.
BASIT AWAN
Yes you can use this with the Brother PC 6000 but it does not attach to the machine this is Free Motion
Wouldn't the ink bleed when wet?
+Betty “BettyBoopy28” Boop The ink goes down the drain when you rinse it away :)
Betty Boop because the material and the ink get wet simultaneously it just goes down the drain. :)
no, sorry, not yet xxx
what paper did you use for printing ?
Delsie Ritchie It's not a paper, it's actually my Polyester fabric based Stick and Tear stabilizer. it tears even though it isn't paper. :) you'll find it at www.creativefeet.com and the printable one is Stick and Rinse. Enjoy!
It's my Stick and Rinse stabilizer at www.creativefeet.com
hi how to get this thing in India Bangalore
sias mana you'll need to order direct from us at this time we do not have a distributor in India. We ship world-wide www.creativefeet.com
Mam janome 5002model me feed dog drop off Karen ka therka batna palce fast time comment ka ha new subscribe I am Pakistan
You can drop your feed dogs if you want - or leave them up - using the Octi-Hoops, it doesn't matter.
any machine
you can do this on ANY sewing machine???
all but the Elna Diva 6000 from 1989 - the Baby Lock ESE2 and the Brother 8500D
Each of these machines have flaws that won't allow them to do Free-Motion.. but all others yes!
Clare Rowley The Brother machine listed is the PC8500D from 1989 the NEW Brother 8500D Dream machine CAN do free motion :) sure wish they hadn't used the same model number again.... aren't there enough numbers to choose from? ;)
As she stops using the handles..
+Taylor Rencsok I also found that with quilting you can let go of the handles and quilt using only one hand! :) Yep.. sometimes you feel like using the handles and sometimes you don't... lol Fun stuff! :)
Okay no need to respond I found it.
like the idea but had to stop watching because of the awful music but need to hear what you say. hope its gone in later videos
This video may be more to your liking. ua-cam.com/video/iZ6rAci5Sd4/v-deo.html
