Just to clear up confusion, Long Eaton is in Derbyshire. There are countless towns/villages in the border in a similar situation. E.g., Grantham in Lincs but with an NG post code, Castle Doningnton in Leicestershire but with a DE post code, Chesterfield in Derbyshire but with a Sheffield (S) postcode. The only people who can’t (or refuse to) read their council tax bill are Forest fans.
@@louisefarrell9322 I don't think you will get very far, it's been suggested in several reports over the years (some of them are shown on Wikipedia pages) and I know through a neighbour that it has come up at DCC in Matlock during meetings in the past with little interest, as the benefits are negligible or non-existent. Even if there was substantial local or even minor regional interest in it, there will certainly be no budget for it so a move like this wouldn't happen. With respect, I don't think your petition will generate much support. I doubt very much that the people of Long Eaton, Sawley, Sandiacre, etc. have any real knowledge or care for local social policies. So until that day, we'll proudly fly the Derbyshire flag.
Would cat litter work for the non-slip paint mix? I noticed on the Fish 'N Chips sign they advertised Doner Kebabs. What is that? Nice on the town video, Trev. Thanks!🙂
A doner kebab, is basically what is called a gyro in the US. It is always made with lamb. A gyro being Greek and doners are more middle eastern Turkey, Jordan and places around them.
@@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat I think you're right. I thought about it after I wrote it. Not only that, but you would wind up having cats crapping on your deck!!💩🐱🤣
I had previously been in there, they did not sell hammarite paint, and as that was what I had all ready been using for the front well deck, I wanted to make sure I continued using the same paint. Colour match etc.
I noticed it had a Nottingham post code, but this is what I found on the internet "Long Eaton is a town in the Erewash district of Derbyshire, England"
Nah but no one follows that rule based on the county but rather they would base town like long Eaton being closer to Nottingham and more connected to Nottingham as a whole I live in long Eaton most people feel we are closer to Nottingham than darby and also long Eaton is surrounded by Nottingham towns like Toton and Stapleford right next to each other hand there is no darby town near Long Eaton and also we use NG postcode it makes more sense to be part of Nottingham
@@jackson1342Sorry this is completely wrong 😂 Long Eaton is in Derbyshire, our council is Derbyshire County Council, Fire and Police Derbyshire, education and health Derbyshire Community Health Services trust and the biggest clue - the “Welcome to Derbyshire” sign as you drive in! A post code is simply that - a code for sorting post. The only reason one would live in denial and assume they’re in Nottm, is if they support Forest. I ask you one question, who do you pay your council tax to? 😉
Thanks
I lived in Sandiacre but worked in Long Eaton for 6 months in 2020 . I really enjoyed it and have fond memories , cycling along all the canals .
I enjoyed my time on the canal there. I I met some very nice people

Thank you, when I looked it up I thought it was Derbyshire to, it was other people commenting here that lead me to think it could be Nottinghamshire.

Cat litter is normally dried clay, and is designed to absorb liquid. I think it would go very soft and mushy after rain.
