thats whats great about Canada, far to many hills never get any flooding, other then the odd back road pipe washed out, MB has the red river flood way that looks after the flat lands out west. but we are all well above sea leavel
@Levi Frederick your welcome. I couldn't imagine what you all are going through after seeing pictures and videos posted. Take care and God Bless!! Steve
Great video! I’ve seen some folks weld up the holes of the used disc’s and make a Wok or a frying pan out of them. They seem to work pretty good. Take care.
Wow, I had no idea of the wear down of those disks. So you guy just don't ride in automated tractors huh? You guys work Hard. I wanted to know about the tiller and you guys didn't disappoint. Thanks for showing this.
I don't know my model numbers but does Landol really call those disks or vertical tillage tools seems to me that's a pretty gray area anymore whichever it is I'm sure it will preform a lot better now! Thanks for the video.
These are disks, the disks are "bowl" shaped. They cut and mix the soil. Vertical tillage tools the disks are straight with a wavy edge. These more slice and size residue and loosen soil leaving some residue on top.
Do you just use big impact to tighten or a slug wrench and sledge hammer also? I have to use slug wrench on my big rome to get them tight enough. I feel your pain on the blade problems, I put new 24" boron blades on my rome and broke 3 blades that spring. Never again, back to weise blades.
That job was one I always hated. With a disc that size it takes a community of folks to do it. We ran 32 ft IH harrows. Can't remember how many disc it took but it was a lot. Hardest part was the center section. Relocating the gangs. How many bearings did you have to replace? We always replaced them too.
just wondering why you dont have a field finisher.i switched to krause landesman years ago because of less soil compaction and sweeps are so much cheaper.
I’m guessing you didn’t come to the Teitsworth Alvin Smith auction today in Barre center mostly everything went for way too much but you could find some deals their articulates went for really cheap
@@FarmingFixingFabricating By the way, have you checked the varicool fan on your 9r? If you havent you might want to check and grease that. Just Did our 8R
@@FarmingFixingFabricating I've heard they're expensive to replace. It's just like deere to change the service hours on those after the fact. I filmed a video on it so hopefully I can get it up today or tomorrow.
The wear down on the disk blades is impressive, how many years did that take? The ground wearing the blades down also does a decent job of sharpening them. I think that is the worst part of the whole job is getting the old gang off without losing fingers or needing stitches. Thank you for today's video.
Great job on the video Andy lot of iron on them discs have to drop a gear with 3" of extra blade! Maybe even put the duals on the 4320 to pull it over the hills! lmfao 🤣 keep up the good work
hel them disks were good for another year yet,, run out is 4-1/2" but hay it his cash right.. oh ya have until March 30th to get all your taxs right offs in for 2018
I didn't know that there were round arbor shafts thought they were all square! Think that is better? I would think they would be harder to keep tight but I guess not. Didn't know if you knew it but you had a little dirt on your shirt and pants just saying!
Shop work always something to do. Thanks for sharing the details. Andy , Come on spring
Great team effort! It's probably because you're a great Head Coach!!!
I especially enjoy the fabricating part of your channel. I like fixing and fabing myself, but dont get to do it on this scale. Great work guys!
Any followers here affected by the massive flooding in the Midwest our thoughts and Prayers are with you...

You guys are a well oiled machine. A captain would be proud of the way ya docked that ship in the bay.
Thx. For the video and G'day to you and yours.

Andrew what a team of working guys 😉👍🏻🌞
Great video thanks for sharing andy
Good job to have done. Hope they hold up well know how it can be to do all that work and have blades bend and crack immediately
That’s the video I have been waiting for thanks !
We are showing getting everything in and looked over.
Why did you replace the spacers?
We were having trouble with the disk arbors losing up. Had an idea that they were getting thin
Good work
Thanks Eric
Do you dedicated mechanics in your shop, or are they like you, field worker and mechanic both? Thanks
They are field whatever
Nice video Andy ! We have the same disk you have
They are a good disk
Ya we have Landoll plow to I thank like 2311 or something
heavy equipment in the field
I’m surprised there weren’t more shafts worn out they take a beating.. great video boss time to haul shit 😳😳!!!

We just use the impact too set them then we use a pipe about six foot long and really tighten them with that.
How many acres you gotta disk up this spring??
Couple thousand
@@FarmingFixingFabricating be a nice steady job for someone Andy 👍🚜

We replaced all of them, I ain't sure how many there actually was
Thank you for great video
How many ft is your disc
Kevin Christiansen we have 2- one is 33’ and the other is 23’
What tractors you use to pull these big pieces of steel? 33ft is alot for a 8320.
OkieDoke18 9410 or the 9320 on the big disk and the 8320 on the small disk
just wondering why you dont have a field finisher.i switched to krause landesman years ago because of less soil compaction and sweeps are so much cheaper.
This is what we have always used
When you did the time lapse what interval did you set the camera? Great video alot of money there.
2cylinderfarmer 6 times the speed
Is that a finishing disk? Doesn’t look like a “cutting” disk
MrMagnum7220 yes
I’m guessing you didn’t come to the Teitsworth Alvin Smith auction today in Barre center mostly everything went for way too much but you could find some deals their articulates went for really cheap
No I didn't
Thats got to be one of the jobs I hate to worst, disks are always a pita to work on.
Time consuming yes

@@PaulsonFarms we replaced it last year

The small disk went 7 years and the big disk we use more and that one we had 4 seasons on
How wide is the big disc?
33' and the small one was 23'
Yeah that’s large, compared to my little heavy 7’ disc
Great job on the video Andy lot of iron on them discs have to drop a gear with 3" of extra blade! Maybe even put the duals on the 4320 to pull it over the hills! lmfao 🤣 keep up the good work
The 4310 had trouble just moving the disk not to mention having it anywhere in the soil
Ya I bet that thing is a monster behind the 4320. I was just kidding about it actually pulling it
hel them disks were good for another year yet,, run out is 4-1/2" but hay it his cash right.. oh ya have until March 30th to get all your taxs right offs in for 2018
We were about 5.5"
The inside passenger rear tire looked low boss when you were hooking it up at the beginning
Passenger side?????? Lol I'm just busting on you Rynne. I'll have to take a better look at it.
@@FarmingFixingFabricating Yes the passenger side rear inner tire of the dulls. I know you are I just realized what it said
Not trying to count your money but what does it cost to rebuild a disk like that
It was about $10,000 for the big disk and $8,000 our so for the small one.
Damn them are big wide disk
They look big when they are inside for sure.

Yeah there John Deere disk arbors were square. We had a Krause and that was round to. Dirty closes gives the uniform company something to do.
I didn't know articulated tractors had PTO's on them ??
Yes you can add those
Mini boss is kinda quiet.
