💍💎Opal Odyssey💎💍 The color is fantastic and even with the cracks it is wonderful. Leave it as an example of what color a top notch stone looks like sans the cracks.
Hey Ricky good job showing us how you work through it . I would have faced it from the other side go to that flash clean crystal bar every time and it shows the colour behind it too . In this case it is just one of those doesn’t work out . Still a gamble didn’t pay off here .
You've inspired me for sure. I got some raw sandy opal 😅 it's to practice on... Well, I finally cut some opal and realized what you're really doing. It's hard to understand when you've never cut opal before. Thanks for the directions and teaching me more than I knew.
The dreaded “cats whiskers” Other than facing from the other side, there’s not much you could have done. Shame as it looked a very pretty stone. I don’t think you’ll have any problem selling that big crystal if it was set in an open backed bezel pendant. Just file out the back opening to make it bigger if it’s a pre-made as the stone has great colour on the back. Or if you have any bits of the same material left, make ear rings and another ring for a full matching set. Matching sets are hard to find.
How did I do you wrong? I said the winner would be chosen from the people with the correct answer. I'm sorry you feel that way. Find my email in the video description and send me your address.
@@OpalOdyssey-ew9gr you said the first one that got it and then dismissed me after I spotted it. I only knew because I was watching your video and you said "Alabama got it "but" .. I'm used to being run over by people. The "nice guy always finishes last" has been said to me several times. I emailed you and you didn't respond... I didn't want to put this on your channel chat... Like I said, you've taught me a lot about opal and I do respect you. Just didn't expect this. Now I'm embarrassed about the whole thing. I just got excited and then realized I was skipped over, I reacted to quickly with my post...you can see my first post was extremely positive, I was typing while I was watching and then heard you say Alabama 🫨 I'm not going anywhere because I really like your channel. I'll email you again. Didn't mean to shine a negative light on you.
HUGS!!
They don’t all work out do they. Congrats to the winner 👍
Beautiful color regardless. Very cool to watch your process.
Its like your cutting opals and making treasure gems for Dragons and Pirates.
❤❤

Happy to see you back. Sorry about your stressful week. Hope the rodeo was fun. Congrats to the winner.
The Rodeo was a disaster. Lol
@@OpalOdyssey-ew9gr Aww and a rough week on top of that. Sending a big hug.

Sorry to hear about the stressful week! The opals were beauties!
You might not agree but I would double dip the cracked stone in UV clear resin to finish it and hide the cracks.just an idea.
Feel your pain. That color was fantastic.
I did one recently, it fractured into 4 pieces.. one was decent the rest are for a cage, or jar. Gorgeous color but Opal is fickle.

Would love to send you some A grade rough I mined 40 years ago from Mintabie
That would be cool to see. Most mintabie left is low grade. I havnt had much luck with it.
Is it better than what you sell on eBay?
@@OpalOdyssey-ew9gryou know they are still mining at Mintabie right
@@OpalOdyssey-ew9grdefinitely not just low grade left
Just realized I was skipped over from winning the ring😢
I did it by ear... Maybe next time....
If I remember you made a couple of guesses and one of then was correct. Hopefully next time.
@@OpalOdyssey-ew9gr it's just wrong... Never complain again about people doing you wrong
