Robinho was one of those players who was amazing with the ball, but never really lived up to his potential. For some reason he went from wonderkid to disappointment while in Real Madrid. I am not sure how much of it was his fault, and how much it was the team's fault. He was moved from a winder to a central forward at one point, and he proved to be unable to handle the physicality of playing among the trees in the middle. I remember him being pushed around like a rag doll.
He did have a good and long career, but I always felt that he wasted his prime playing out of position. He was untouchable when playing on the left wing, driving defenders crazy and pushing the ball from the sidelines in. I think that he was a great dribbler, but only when he played in the wing, otherwise, he was always outmatched, falling over and calling for a foul to the refs that would typically be called. I was always disappointed by Robinho. He was supposed to be the next Pele, and did not even get close to Pele's shadow. A good player? Definitely! A great player? only when playing on the left wing! An all time great? Not at all! Overhyped by the Nike commercials? Definitely!
Robinho was good tho. He was not overhyped by the Nike commercials. Brazilian team was stacked as fuck. They had Adriano, Robinho, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Baptista, Kaka and you can go on. Have you ever seen a player who humiliate a other player who supposed to be one of the best midfielders in the world? Robinho sent Pirlo to the woods.
He lead real Madrid ro the 2007 title just after Zidane left.that same year he lead Brazil to Copa America with Julio batista when all other stars were injured
He was the first neymar, never really got to the goat level. And yes he did play for real madrid, with players like Ronaldo Fenomeno, Zidane, Beckham, roberto carlos and all them. Even had the nr 10 in that team. But injures made him not reach what was expected off him. He is also neymars favorite player 😁👍

And not really the first Neymar, since Robinho isn't even close to being as skilled as him, he relied purely on step overs... The thing they had in common was that both came from the same team and he is Neymar's idol when growing up. But in style of game Neymar comes more close of Ronaldinho than Robinho
