This video inspired me to look up Direct Primary Care in my state and I found a practice! I switched and it has been great to finally get my medical needs addressed and met.
Some doctors tried that in my area of NC. It didn’t last very long before they folded. Then the doctors were blocked from getting jobs due to non compete rules.
I can see it failing if the revenues collected exceed the payouts to the physicians and staff as well as if the patients are coming in (maybe unnecessarily) multiple times per month (they’ve already paid the monthly fee, so why not go multiple times). The docs and staff still need to make a reasonable income so if revenues are less than expenses, the model can fail. I have an appreciation for this model, and would like to see it successful, but economics may dictate otherwise.
There are a lot of places all over the country that are successful and it's spreading, but it's not viable everywhere and some business fail for unforseen reasons.

As someone in the medical field in NC, this is a fantastic idea! I’ll be honest the benefits that I get through the hospital is really good but my boyfriend’s insurance is truly awful. I hate it when he sees the doctor because is always paying out of pocket. It’s honestly cheaper for him to not even use any insurance at all. Some places give discounts to people who pay out of pocket anyhow. It’s infuriating and then the problem he has with medications and getting those covered is awful as well. That’s the only thing I do wonder about is how these people get medications covered without insurance or if maybe they can keep a minimal insurance policy and only use it for medication? Not that insurance companies make it easy either!! They request so many prior authorizations on drugs it’s ridiculous, more now than ever. It’s all about who they’re in cahoots with. That’s how they determine which medication is preferred. I definitely agree it’s broken because that’s about all we complain about. It’s a business, it’s a corporation and you’re literally micromanaged and punished if you don’t do certain things the hospital wants you to do. It’s the reason a lot of people are leaving or not even going into the medical field in general. Certainly less doctors and nurses.
Specialists can have their own similar clinic and so can ER. It would work the same way, but the financing would have to be addressed, because cardiac surgery, for example, is going to be too expensive (even cutting out insurance, lawyers, etc) for most to just pay out of pocket.
The reason those are expensive is because liability and the possibility of death. As much as I hate seeing people sue others for everything, death is very much real.
You still need insurance for big costs, but this way you can pick a high deductible plan for severe illness or a catastrophic event and save on your every day health care. If you have a severe illness it might not be worth it, but for most people it works pretty well.
@@DrawinskyMoon remember, ER treatment is often Hail Mary. I’m all for reimbursement/punishment for true malpractice, but that is completely different from inability to save a life. How we manage liability is one area of medicine that definitely needs addressing.
Including Dental industry. I went to the dentist for regular cleaning. After Xray and checking gum depth, the doctor determined that I needed to do deep cleaning. I have to pay out of pocket for $880 and not covered by insurance. I insisted that they should just do regular cleaning, but they denied me for regular cleaning, so I left. Now I rinse with Xylitol sugar, and it is better than deep cleaning. The tartar falls off by themselves. Also, cancer is just a parasite that big Pharma don't want you know. They rather kept people in the dark so they can make $200,000 per patient. And Chemo and radiation don't work. You've seen your relatives or family members died in the process of chemo. Even if they finish the whole chemo and radiation sessions, the cancer always come back within 5 years.
My friend has been a nurse for 15+ years. She just found out she has liver cancer. She’s chosen to do natural remedies first. She’s worked in a hospital and knows what she’s doing. That told me she doesn’t trust them.
I have experience that treatment as a patient. Just expensive test. Lots of them. But no help to my situation. For the most part. I like the solucion they are starting. And I'm very greatful. Blessings
I’ve been avoiding this allopathic racket like the plague. We all need to stop participating and choose other options such as this one. I myself choose naturopaths who don’t take insurance. I pay out of pocket but the costs are reasonable and the care is waaaaaaaay better.

It has been broken for many years. The greedy insurance companies are to blame.
We the people need to help these doctors and nurses who are taking a stand. Better and more responsible healthcare is ours if we dig in our heels and stop going to big ph@rma doctors. It’s our health and our money. We need to help these good doctors and leave the corrupt doctors out on the curb.
Again, most doctors are employed. So better say, corrupt companies; not doctors
This video inspired me to look up Direct Primary Care in my state and I found a practice! I switched and it has been great to finally get my medical needs addressed and met.
It certainly is broken. I've been misdiagnosed for 15 years
The government and insurance companies need to start seeing patients themselves
Sick care system.
Only took ‘em a few decades 🙄
This is one of several reasons I left studying medicine myself. I was interested in it bc the material is fascinating and I wanted to help ppl at their time of need. As I studied I realized it’s not about helping ppl it’s about making money. I’m now breaking into tech for a better lifestyle
When did you switch?
lol tech or IT is just as corrupt but hey you might get to work from home for however long and decent salaries.
Medicine is all about making money. Its a business. Its not about care or helping people.
THANK YOU! 🙏🏻❤ If you are a doctor of any kind, PLEASE, get everyone you know in the healthcare industry together, because you all CAN help to change the system!! Just tell the rest of us what we can do & how we can help support you in this endeavour & I promise you that we will 100%!! For the sake of our human family, we can do this… it is up to us ❤
As someone in the medical field in NC, this is a fantastic idea!
Everything is Broken here
We need more doctors like this to step up!! The healthcare system is never going to change unless the doctors initiate the change in the first place !
I hope you guys do so great.
Not having patients rushed and doctors overwhelmed is great. But with this arrangement, what happens when you need to see a specialist or surgeon?
Specialists can have their own similar clinic and so can ER. It would work the same way, but the financing would have to be addressed, because cardiac surgery, for example, is going to be too expensive (even cutting out insurance, lawyers, etc) for most to just pay out of pocket.
The reason those are expensive is because liability and the possibility of death. As much as I hate seeing people sue others for everything, death is very much real.
@@DrawinskyMoonI will happy risk my life for changes like this
You still need insurance for big costs, but this way you can pick a high deductible plan for severe illness or a catastrophic event and save on your every day health care. If you have a severe illness it might not be worth it, but for most people it works pretty well.
@@DrawinskyMoon remember, ER treatment is often Hail Mary. I’m all for reimbursement/punishment for true malpractice, but that is completely different from inability to save a life. How we manage liability is one area of medicine that definitely needs addressing.
this is amazing!!! SO happy to see a new healthcare solution coming to life!
@@bevk7320try going to a dental school. Maybe a general dentist can do it for cheaper
@@bevk7320Holy F, that's a horrible situation. Hope you stay strong
My friend has been a nurse for 15+ years. She just found out she has liver cancer. She’s chosen to do natural remedies first. She’s worked in a hospital and knows what she’s doing. That told me she doesn’t trust them.
Yeah I've noticed that chemo makes people sicker than the cancer itself, hastens death.
Of course it's broken do you know how terrified i am of hospitals? Not because of needles or anything, but because im afraid of leaving bankrupt.
Too bad insurance companies will force them to remain puppets
The video said they ditched insurance, so they are their own bosses...
Amazing. Thank you.
I wish this was in my area! This is wonderful!
Love this! As a nurse this makes me so happy to hear
