Jerry, just installed my focus motor. Despite reinstalling several times, I can hear the load changing on the motor... but I only hear it at speed level 3. Sounds fine at levels 1 and two. Do you think I have a problem I need to fix here?
Why do you watch videos for topics you are not interested in? This video was intended to help people who may have been having the same problem and not to entertain over entitled children. Perhaps you should try posting some videos of your own instead of making silly comments.
@@JerryWalker001 I’ve just fitted a celestron electric focuser which works perfectly I was just looking at videos about it sorry if I offended you But you are a bit long winded
I did not know you were into astronomy as well. Very cool. I have a Celestron EdgeHD 14" myself in an observatory dome in my garden... unfortunately I hardly ever get to use it these days.
Yes I have been interested in astronomy for a long time and have a number of scopes but the 8SE is the one I use most. I am in the process of building an 'observatory' to house a 20" scope which is too big and heavy to use as a mobile scope (although it is sold as being easy to move - yeah right).
@@JerryWalker001 on an unrelated note (and this is not the appropriate place to post it... sorry) Is there an update on your new book? Will it be coming out any time soon?
I don't quite understand why there is a need to re-adjust focus during an observing session. After all, everything, be it a LEO satellite, the moon, or a deep space nebula is for all practical purposes at infinity. Is it therefore necessary solely to correct for temperature changes in the optics? You mention a "band heater", is that used to prevent condensation fogging the mirror?

Good video if you can’t sleep

Electrical Engineering, no matter how small or practical, for the win! 👍🔌

@@JerryWalker001 I had a 'portable' 16" Dobsonian flex-tube for many years. It was not fun to move.

@@Kodemaestro The book is still in the pipeline. It is behind schedule due to other commitments but I hope to release it before the end of the year.
