Wow Claire! The way you’ve prepped for your video with translating every page to read to us is next level! Going the extra mile. Thanks so much! 😆 I’ve just started my own channel too, this flip was brilliant!! 😍✨
Actually the Match Stick Girl is a very dark fairy tale. She hasn't sold enough and is scared to go home, because she fears to be beaten by her father. It's cold and she hides in an alley. She then lights the matches to warm herself up and sees things. At one Point she sees her Grandma who died and she lights all the matches to keep the vision of her Grandma. They find her the next morning frozen to death.
"The Little Mermaid" (Hans Christian Andersen again) didn't have a happy ending either. Disney changed it. There were details like how every step she took would feel like knives (because the Sea Witch is a witch, after all). If the Prince married anyone else, she would die (literally). The Mermaid's sisters went to the Sea Witch to beg her to break the spell so that the Mermaid could regain her tail and return to the sea to her family. They give the Sea Witch their long, beautiful hair. SW gives the sisters a DAGGER, The Little Mermaid is supposed to STAB the Prince and his Bride (who was just an innocent girl, and not the witch in disguise), on their wedding night. When the blood flows over her feet, she will turn back into a mermaid. However, she cannot bring herself to kill the innocent couple, She throws the knife into the sea and jumps in after, turning to foam. Now here comes what passed as a "happy ending" in 19th century Denmark--because of her suffering and sacrifice she may join the spirits of the air and do good deeds for 300 years, and thereby gain a soul (so she can go to Heaven). If children are good, the time she must serve lessens. If they are bad, then more time is added to her service. Yeah, so let's not only traumatize your kids at bedtime, but make them feel guilty too!
I absolutely love the way you have described each page in enough detail that we get the gist of the specific fairytale. I am especially appreciative because most of these fairytales I’ve not heard of. I love the fact that each page actually has a story. So cool! I always enjoy listening to you talk anyways. 🥰 excellent video as always!!!! And beautiful book! I have absolutely fallen in love with Eriy’s books!
This is amazing. You really did a good job with this video. I can’t thank you enough for translating all of this. And of course the book is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
I was so excited to see you had this book. I adore colouring but feel the only time I produce work I like is when I follow a tutorial or colour scheme I like. I’ve not seen anyone post this book yet so I was so excited to see my face you tube colourist post this. Look forward to seeing your completed pictures.

Claire, Wow! Well done with the story telling! I cannot even imagine how much work went into this, exquisitely done! Thank you!
