One thing I have understood while playing warships is that it does'nt matter what tech you unlock until and unless its a single bad node by itself like tanks and also it does'nt unlock anything useful in its path .I saved up my keys for 5ER and went straight smoky warriors till rank 15, at the time of my saving keys I faced opponents with shield generators , sky shields, extra defensive health and sparky.When I went to 5er and had an advantage over these dirty birdies 4 ER I started facing 5er, no matter what tech you use the game will counter you the same way.
