Kreen Farhat Not a hammer, that'd definitely break some of the pieces. Maybe some kind of wiffle bat (if you swing one hard enough it can most definitely separate Lego bricks, as I learned the hard way, but it's light enough not to damage them).

I bought the Simpson house when it came out and loved it so of course when the Kwik-E Mart came out I had to get it. But then I got distracted and never got around to building it. It's still in the box. Two years now. But now I'm convinced. I need to put this thing together ASAP. They need to make a Moe's Tavern, a Springfield Elementary and a Nuclear Power Plant set. Though those last two would probably be smaller diorama style sets. IT'S THE BEATING OF THAT HIDEOUS HEART!

Dan, I'd love a series where you build these. Make it whole episodes! 3-5 episodes of just building legos with your commentary would be glorious. I know I can never afford legos, and I'd love to see all the details.
You say this is a good set to get into lego - which I really want to do - but I don't have £200 odd to buy this. Could you do an episode of cheap but good builds to get started with?

Personally in my (lesser Lego-centric experience based) opinion, I'd say if you're starting small, then look for the Lego creator sets. No minifigures, but they come with instructions for a couple of builds, and more than enough parts for you to make up your own stuff.
But again, I don't really buy a lot so this is more based on the few sets I have ^^;
Pyrobird Lego creators are fantastic. You can make 3 vehicles with one set using mostly the same parts.
Pyrobird I'm not after easy builds, just cheap fun ones that look cool to start off with. But I have checked out the Lego creator sets and they look pretty good so cheers!
Lego modular all the way will cost you about 120£ but it's so worth it
The fact that it has lots of stickers really isn't a good thing, they're the bane of my life, you really want printed bricks, I really don't care if they added about £20 onto the cost, I would always rather have printed bricks

Nerd cubed Are you a fan of the technic series of builds beacause I would highly recommend the F1 racer (the massive one) to get in to it, as I built mine quite some time ago and still look at it today and wonder how cool it is.

I really want to get into building lego again, but their sets are so expensive! This costs 1699 Danish krones, which is 255 dollars... That's half of what I spend on rent.
