I Love this video and it is on my bucket list for sure to visit the Town of BEITH as I am a american born BEITH and over time have heard alot of stories about relations and the town of BEITH I am in my middle 60's so time is of the essence.
I grew up in beith in the seventies and eighties. it was a great place. moved away in the mid nineties. come back now and again to visit family. any sunday you care to pick the town is dead and the saracen front door is mobbed. my eight year old thinks every body in beith is an alkie.
I love my home no one is gonna change that beith is the best place in the world to me
I have strong family connections to Beith, my ancestors named Douglas were blacksmiths my grandfather born at Greenhills Beith. I visited Beith 2008 from Australia and felt that the village had seen better days but was charming in it's own way
My great papa Hugh Hoynes had a bakery in Beith.
My great uncle Robert McConnell had a fruit and veg shop and my dad Robert Lawrie had a bus called the barmill Gypsy
I'm a newbie to Beithy but already love the place. at 2:27 there is a black spot near the centre of the screen & that is the location of my new home!

I was brought up in Beith and left in 1978. It was an awesome place to grow up in, although I didn't necessarily think that at the time.
There were some real eejits and some really questionable behaviour but it was a place of it's time, and I wouldn't change a thing.
Sadly, that time has gone forever. It is a very poor shadow of it's former self. It's dying.
I

it was a far better town when papa chook was walking arround at night singing his drunk heart out, oh if i`d only had a video camera back then
Is Beith really that bad? I grew up there in the 80's/90's and loved it. Not living there now but I still visit. Lets face it,ok so it's got it's problems like every other small town in the central belt of Scotland but you have to think of the positives and not everyone's a drunken alkie drug addict ned... seems like people are too quick to stereotype on here. There are plently of people in Beith doing stuff for the community.
