  • On November 2, 2019 we took our good friends from Japan to visit our old stomping grounds in the Imperial Valley. Our ultimate goal was to take them to Glamis where they could experience the sand dunes, something they can't experience in Japan. Before that, we stopped at our favorite Mexican restaurant Celia's for lunch. Those of us from the Valley know that the special quesadillas and carne asada are the things to get. The flavors are really unique to the Valley and can't be had elsewhere. Highly recommended if you're in the area.
We also did a quick drive by of where I went to high school. And yes, for those of you that caught it, the football stadium is named after my family. Not through anything that I did, but totally in honor to my Uncle Larry Shimamoto, who diligently supported the high school thru his many years of serving in the local Quarterback Club (booster club).
