Thank you so much for telling the story, this ryokan is totally amazing! I didn't know there is a big painting of Totoro in the bath, and all the little pictures of Totoro are absolutely wonderful. As a big fan of Totoro I must come to this place!
If you like Totoro, this is the best place to stay! Even better if you like history ^^

御殿守露天風呂石風呂中心で一枚岩削った岩風呂凄いです。沢山露天風呂あるのがゆっくり入れて温泉マニアは満足出来ますね👍️
あと私の好きなサウナもあるんですね😉
桜🌸の時期に撮影とはやはりたびくるさん持ってますね🎉👍️
夕食もメインが山形牛のすき焼きとステーキとダブルメインじゃないですか。ハマグリのお吸い物飲みたい😆
朝食もバイキングでなく郷土料理なんて最高ですね✨

桜もたまたまぴったりで最高でした〜（実はその翌週に予約していたんですが、前の週もお部屋が空いていたので予約をずらしてもらいました）。

烏帽子山の桜とても綺麗です！満開の桜をこんなに近くで見れて良かったですね🌸*･ 御殿守さんすごくいいですね〜、ウェルカムドリンクがごぼう茶というのも珍しいですね。他とは違うおもてなしでこれもまた良しですね😊

Wow this was a really interesting stay at this amazing ryokan. We have decided to reserve this ryokan next April during our visit to the Tohoku region. Our plan is to go to a ryokan in Akiu Onsen, then to Sendai city to see the cherry blossoms in Ogawara/Funaoka. Then Matsushima century hotel & finally to Gotenmori on 17 April.
Once again, your detailed explanation of the premises and facilities, together with your wife’s interesting description of the meal is perfect. Thank you for the information on the cherry blossom festival too. You were blessed to have seen the sakura in full bloom during your visit.
We are looking forward with anticipation for next year’s sakura holiday. This early Dec we will go to Yonezawa to try their beef at the ryokan in Onagawa onsen and later to Izu where we normally visit our friend as she owns a ryokan up on a hill.
You are indeed fortunate to visit many ryokans without having to take a plane. Train journeys are enjoyable for us (except when we are busy looking for platforms and transfers😅).

今日ゆっくりと楽しませて頂きました🤗山形は何度も訪れて居ますが、こちらのお宿は初見でした…何とも見所たくさんで楽しく、トトロ好きの私にはたまりません🤭温泉♨️も最高ですね〜。お布団敷きのお宿で気になる布団の厚みも、しっかりと御紹介頂きありがとう御座います。

桜満開🌸満開の良い時期に行かれたのは羨ましいです。
日本に帰って来てから、栃木県西那須にある塩の湯温泉、蓮月と言う共立リゾートさんが経営してるお宿に泊まって来ましたが駐車場からお迎えの車に乗り、その後スロープカ―(ゴンドラ？)に乗り込み、お宿まで降りて行く演出はとても楽しく子供さんなら大喜びすると思います。大人の私も大喜びしましたが(笑)
全室に源泉の露天風呂が付いており、館内も畳敷きで、共立リゾートさん名物の夜泣きそばや湯上がりアイスや飲み物、貸し切り露天風呂も3つあり空いて居れば無料で利用出来ます。機会があれば是非🤗
もう1つ、岩手県花巻温泉郷にある山の湯温泉、清流館さんも訪れましたが、こちらも全室源泉かけ流しの温泉付きで、全室20部屋のとても良い雰囲気のお宿でした。こちらも機会があれば是非🤗
日本を離れて見ると思うのですが…
やはり日本の温泉宿は最高です。
