really nice work. i have plans for installing a TD60 in ours 6300. is the td50 and the td60 the same external size? i thinks so.. but not sure..

D50 and TD60 are very much the same length. water pump and timing gear cover are main external differences with these. Td60 is better engine for the job, D50 is much older version and parts is not that easy to find anymore. I do recommend the swap, whole personality of the machine rely changes. I´m not saying that Td45 engine has anything wrong with it, but the whole machine is a bit heavy so it needs a little bit more torq.

@@sfk78 good to hear, i love the td60`s. very good engines. i have a B6 bus with one in it and F6 with another one. any major difficulties with fitting them? Does the backpart fit bolt on? The TD45b was a OK enigne in the 6300, a litle slow to react maybe. our TD45 had water in oil, so the bearings is bad.

@@olefossen1841 The turbine housing fits in bolts but oilpann does not fit becouse block level is different. You need to machine the turbine housing oilpann level down, there is not any major difficulties after that. Water cooler makes some headeak, but It is only minor difficulty, just find radiator that fits.

@@olefossen1841 Best version would be Td61, iam not sure but It might have taller block so that the turbine housing and oilpan might fit without machining it. It also has gear driven water pump, and It has been in use very long so the parts are very common.

the turbine housing is the bellhouse?the housing for the flywheel? the TD50 you used, was it from a truck? the TD60 we are going to use is from a B6 bus, and it runs really great :) was looking for a TD61, but not much of these engines for sale here in Norway these days. dont want to buy a old truck for parts either.
