Roosevelt Park f13 and 76 east coast crips shared that park for years
Same as Washington Park and Bethune
F13 and the 76Pl Shack Boys shared the park with no issues when I was coming up.
@@pharoah1200 same as the 89s and EZBs, though it was far more blaccs in that area of Firestone bacc then

Florence & Holmes, on the Northeast corner was the Bank of America where my grandfather took me to open my first bank account in 1966.

Bird speaking the truth
I grew up with Mexicans and many were my best friends and I will never understand Black and Brown against each other.
Because anti blackness is part of Mexican culture
@@rbgboxing4442YT Supremacy is the root of the problem.
That car wash is on the corner of Florence & Maie. As kids, we spent many days and many coins there during the 1960s thu the 1980s. Mainly, it was for the fries, burritos, pastramis, and shakes. A lot of times, after playing sports or swimming all day at Roosevelt Park, the car wash was our first stop on the way home.
Shout out the community 90001 i went to parmelee edison and fremont

My father knew a lot of people...I am one of Bird's daughters.
@@historymarm835her father lied
Thank U Kev Mac..... I knew the old timers in the 50's and earlier on in history that the blacks and browns got along with each other...... So I went on a deep dive in the history of brown LA and geez to find out that the navy went to war with the browns in LA...... Really opened my eyes...... Black brown and others r going and went through the same struggle..... I just hope black and brown can finally take make their culture and put it out in their own media platforms......
Let's roll.
Black and White Florence members were Ryders and totally brown on inside brown hearts
Yeah a very racist area ,im from the Firestone district, the 80's east side 87 Street Kitchens
Is it still racist to you? Or back then. What I know is Florencia has many black members from there Varrio and many other varrios do as well, even 38st , especially the Playboys
My uncle and his childhood friend are from F13 my grandmother house was on 85 and Beach and my uncle friend house was on 85 and Holmes
My family has been over in the Florence district since the 1940's and I didn't see blatant racism until drugs got involved....I am one of Bir's daughters by the way.....drugs and lust for money are the 2 killers
We still live in the neighborhood. We eat at Boy's Hamburgers on Florence & Holmes. We eat at Yoshinoya at Florence & Pacific in Huntington Park. We just ate at Carl's Jr. on Gage & Compton Avenue. We eat at Yoshinoya on Florence & Avalon. We go to Rite'Aid at Florence & Miramonte all the time, and also Superior right across the parking lot. I've been doing all of that for 60 years, and I've never had any issues.
Fort Lauderdale Florida tappin in another great interview from Bird. Ion know Cali politics but the way Bird break things down is pure gold. He gotta be in Kev Mac's Top 5 guest
ORALE,CON RESPECTO FROM CV3 GANG, SAILOR RIP.
I just wanna clear something. The word "Mayate" means junebug.
In mexico they call dark skinned people "mayatito"
Its not used derogatory.
Somewhere somebody in the U.S twisted the meaning. Racism mainly exists in the U.S. of America, in Mexico people don't think that way. Anyone who says different doesn't know a thing about mexico.
So if you ever here a Mexican lil kid and their grandparents using the word they're probably trying to catch a junebug and tie a string to it and play with it.
The word sounds harsh but literally means junebug.
If you're reading this and a latino especially Mexican has called you by that word as an insult ,I would like to apologize in behalf of us Mexicans who don't condone racism . Not all latinos are like that.
Instead of going tit for tat blaming each for hatred lets just teach our kids better so they don't repeat our mistakes.
And to those who are going to disagree or hate on this statement may you find the peace and the love you need one day .
Why are those words referring to blacks, seem like they derived from Mayan?
Nope... you all changed the meaning and you know it.
Foh...
If a messican call you a mayat3, he's calling you the n word.
Spanish came from Spain and you know Spain is racist so their language is racist in a way and Spain control Mexico and teach Mexicans how to talk Spanish
@@Rexkless.marionhas nothing to do with Mayan. Clown
Bird became an F13?
My father, Bird, was/is a Slauson and he also was in the unique position have dual status, meaning he was an affiliate member of Florence and all his Slausomn and Florence homies knew this and it didn't bother them one bit...that's why he knows so much about both Black and Chicano gangs...he lived it....that should be appreciated. He lived a diverse life and anyone who can do that and still be alive at 80 is amazing. that's how it should be viewed. There's your answer.

What’s bird affiliation with f13 ? Is he a member ?
He is a Slauson and also an "affiliated" member of Florence...ask any OG veterano from Florence over the age of 50 and they will tell you. he was a part of it
Florence and the old Slauson gang shared the same neighborhood back in the day...he had a unique dual status
