Hello Captain, what a grewat trip on a beautiful day and a nagnificent fish of 70 or 80 pounder landed too, awesome video, tight lines and greetings from Down Under,, Tony.
I thought that Tarpon was going to keep running but then it turned around. Great fight and great catch. When you put the gloves on is that to protect your hands from the leader and the hook or is there a sharp part of the Tarpon's mouth or gills that you have to watch out for?
They have a very rough mouth and they have a real sharp spot at the top end of their gill plate! This is the spot that cuts your line most of the time when they jump!
I can be reached at 1(386)325-3743 and leave a message. May take me a couple of days to get back to you. The wife and i travel a lot during the summer.

A 10/0 circle hook.
80Lb Tarpon. would have been dinner for 50 people.
Tarpon are not fish that people eat
