There is no mystery why northern Europe is warmer then the northern part of North America. It's because of the Gulf Stream. It brings warm water up the west coast of Europe and creates different weather pattern keeping it warmer there.
And it is slowing down. When it does, it will wreak havoc on Europe. This has been studied and documented for YEARS.
No it's not because of the gulf stream.
@DJ: I suggest you go BACK AND REVIEW YOUR GRADE SCHOOL SCIENCE. We learned when I was in GRADE SCHOOL, the Gulf Stream is RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TEMPERATE CLIMATE IN EUROPE (ESPECIALLY ENGLAND). But YOU must be a trumpturd denier, so there is NO hope for you. Buffoon.
Also, in Europe you're never more than 300 miles from an ocean or sea. Northern North America doesn't have those moderating influences, so it's colder in the winter.

@@WallabeesWalkers r/wooosh
So I am confusion, why is this one KANSAS but this one is not ARKANSAS. America, explain! Explain! What do you mean ARKANSAW
Laki Luver
The Siouian tribe that gave Kansas and Arkansas their names were actually called Quipaw (or Quapaw). Other tribes called them by other names, which was a common thing to do among natives. One of the names of the native people who were located in what's now Kansas was "Kansa". The plural of Kansa that English speakers used was Kansas. And that stuck.
Arkansas has a slightly different history even though it was named for the same tribe. The Algonquian people called the Quapaw various names including Kansa. However, in the Algonquin language any word that described an ethnic group had the prefix "A" added to it. So it became Akansa. The letter R slipped into the word somewhere along the way and Akansa became Arkansa. The French people in the area used the plural "Arkansas" but in plural words that end in S, (Mardi Gras for instance) the French don't pronounce that S. It remains silent. So the French called it Arkansas but pronounced it Arkansah, or Arkansaw. When English speakers came into the area, they continued to use the already established French pronunciation, and eventually the territory became a state. The pronunciation of the state's name was still somewhat up in the air, though, as more and more people came to settle in the area. In 1880 two state congressmen got a political feud going because they each pronounced the state's name differently; one pronouncing the S and one leaving it silent. As a result, the name was hotly debated and eventually legislation was passed declaring "Arkansaw" to be the official and only proper pronunciation of this state's name.
That's why we say it that way.

When I was a teen, I lived in Delta. At the time, gas was much cheaper in the USA, so we'd drive down to Point Roberts, which was only about a half hour drive from where we lived. Wouldn't the Russian Diomede Island be "Tomorrow Island" since it has the date that's further ahead?
Yes! Thank you. No one is even noticing it.
Yeah that's right
Yes, i have the same question
Well I really don't know the answer to that question but I can theorize that it is some thing like Greenland and ice land, because there names are swapped. (Ex. Greenland is the larger land mass and its pretty much cold there all the time xp)
El Paso: ya I'm weird.
LA: oh really?
I've watched this video 5 times throughout a year and I still keep clicking
Were tomorrow and yesterday mixed up on the graphic?
ye looks like it
Thank you. Yes, they are.
I was about to comment this, but I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone else already had, and you had
Yep, time zones increase as they travel east until the date line, making the left island tomorrow island and the right island yesterday island.
nice catch
The International Date Line has nothing to do with it. Longitude 180 denotes the change from east to west. Your line would put almost all of the Alaskan Aleutians Islands in the Western Hemisphere.
Are there any of the Aleutian Islands that are on Russia's side of the dateline? I would think, if the US owns it, it's on the US side of the dateline. With the exception of Chamorro Standard Time.
The Pribilof Islands and all of the Aleutians are west of the IDL. All of the Kamchatka Peninsula (Russian Far East) is on the eastern side of the line.
4:40 that was the smoothest sponsor transition ive ever seen
ikr
Fun fact: The southern-most point of Illinois (36 ° 58’13) is further south than the northern-most part of Oklahoma (37 ° 0’0). Which is crazy considering Oklahoma is considered the ‘Deep South’ and Illinois is considered the north.
*U.S. Geography*
But talks about Canada and other countries
Sláva Smrti The U.S or the other countries? Because if your saying that other countries are better than the United States...
I would agree.
Sláva Smrti Nice joke
A globe can't be flipped on it's side. A globe only has one side.
John Smith its tilted
Yes, you are right. Love your comment.
WHYYYYY
One side, yes, and tilted on its rotational axis
😟🔫
"International date line, located here, which part of Alaska crosses over".... which islands? I'm not aware of any Alaskan islands that cross over the date line. Some cross the 180° meridian, but not the International Date Line. Am I missing something?
All a matter of definition and agreement... if considering eastern & western hemispheres based on prime meridian through Greenwich England, then Attu Island is in the eastern hemisphere at about 172 degrees east. However, the location of the international date line is quite variable and has been moved to include all the Alaskan/ USA Aleutian Islands in the two time zones [UTC -10 & UTC -11) currently in place for Alaska. The remainder of the Aleutian Islands are Russian and are in the next time zone on other side of IDL
0:35 this makes me uncomfortable
I LOVE how he utterly goes off topic from talking about a russian island to owning a book within 2 sentences
“When you look at a globe and flip it on its side”
*flat earther intensifies*
