Thank you to everyone who has watched this trailer! I admittedly didn't think anyone would see it on this channel as I was sharing my drafts here for feedback before uploading the final product. If you want to check out the finished trailer (and also the amazing mod + community it is showing off), have a look at @DiscoveryGC
The original Freelancer was great. It deserved a sequel decades ago.
Everspace 2 is a worthy successor. Try it, I don't think you will regret it, I can tell you that even in the late game it was harder than Freelancer.
Discovery Freelancer is a sequel
It warms my heart to see that this game is still being supported and updated by the Community here 21 years after it's release it just show how much love this game have.
Freelancer, Alpha one dash one, you are cleared for launch. Good luck out there...
I think about this game often. I loved every aspect of it. The incomplete system jump gates, the abandoned trade lanes, incomplete trade lanes, the dangerous systems that even with working trade lanes you still better be prepared.
I loved this game in so many ways and spent way too much time playing elite dangerous because of it.
And as much as Elite Dangerous has some very immersive exploration and ship functions, it never even gets close to how "alive" the universe felt in Freelancer. In Elite it's all too obvious how all NPCs just kinda randomly spawn and despawn, enemies that come after you during cargo missions literally just blink into existence and even escaping their interdiction attempt causes them to just despawn. Meanwhile in Freelancer every time you flew through a dense nebula or asteroid belt and pirates came out of nowhere, you couldn't help but think they were in there the whole time, waiting to ambush someone and it just happened to be you. They might also have just been an RNG spawn but it didn't feel like it.
It has been a long time since I played a modded Freelancer server. It was a Discovery server, will give it a look see.
👏I remember when this game came out.👍
Good luck!!! It was great game.

I played freelancer for 10 years until the disc was destroyed in a fire and I've never got it again. I miss it every day. I want a sequel.

What description?
Sorry, this was the draft video I was working on, I didn't expect many people to actually see it. The actual final version was uploaded to the Discovery Freelancer UA-cam account, with a full description explaining how to download, and what the mod's features are.
This a game?
A damn good one!
Yes, this is a trailer I made for the Discovery mod of the 2003 game Freelancer - discoverygc .com has more details.
