I found commander bly at a Walgreens when I was getting a prescription filled and I thought wow what a cool figure and I went home looked it up on eBay and saw it was going for 38 so I ran back to the store and got it for 20.
You have to consider that while some of these are/were available in US stores, there are plenty of people outside of the US who just have no option other than re-sellers to get some of these exclusives or even some regular releases. Here in Australia, Black Series retail for around $35-$40. You can find them a bit cheaper on Amazon but need to generally buy at the right time, as Amazon Australia relies on the Amazon Global Store, so not everything on your US Amazon can be bought through my Australian Amazon. Commander Bly has not gone below around $90 Australian on Amazon. I've been trying to find it for cheaper. I ended up ordering via Dorkside Toys and shipped to Australia it cost me about $50. There has been a very tiny release at like 1 or 2 stores here in Australia, but generally on the east coast (I live on the west coast) is where most stock goes. Exclusives are a totally different store. It's completely random as to what we get here. We sometimes get the Gamestop exclusives through EB Games/Zing here, but not all. And often they're pre-order or miss out completely. We don't even get every regular wave. I can tell you that while you may see IG-11 or the Jumptrooper for US$16, I can't order them at that price. Those stores don't ship here. I have to go through a re-seller and that makes it expensive.

I found him at Gamestop for $23 a few months ago when he was close to $90 on ebay. Obviously it's dropped since and will continue to as the rerelease gets into more people's hands, but I sold it for $60 recently since the new one is exactly the same. I will never understand why he was so valuable in the first place. Until this year (pre-rerelease announcement), all the Rebels crew could be purchased for at or below retail, except for Ahsoka who was in the $30-40 range, which is still low for the only BS figure of such a popular character. Then Ezra comes out and he reaches $85? Why? The team wasn't even complete at that point and none of the others were worth anything, plus as much as I love Rebels, when someone says they don't like it, he's usually one of the first reasons why.

Great video man! I was shocked when I found out home much Ezra was going for before his upcoming re-release. I remember seeing him all over at GameStops for a while. The EE Clone Trooper 4 pack was pretty easy to get when it was released too. I actually ended up getting mine on their Black Friday sale for $40! To this day I kick myself for not grabbing 2. Great video! I remember buying figures and years later they become valuable. Now they are sky rocketed before they even hit the shelves!! I blame the people who make guesstimates. Which send some in retail in a frenzy! Example- carbonized mando was insanity difficult to get and going for crazy money. Now retailers have over stocked selling him for 50 but no ones buying them. As I say to collectors who try selling me over priced figures: “ that’s how much they ask on eBay but what ARE they actually selling for?!” You can ask for any price on eBay but it doesn’t mean it’s selling for that price. It’s just insane to me.
yea its just nuts right now. and a lot of stuff is just going to get more expensive because more and more people start collecting everyday, collecting 80's and 90's nostalgia is super popular right now and that includes Star Wars. but all these prices are all what they selling for, for sure

Triple zero became a grail piece. The vader comics are really good, and triple zero is a fun part of that team. So I bit the bullet and took the loss.

Somewhere around the beginning of this year I bought - Order 66 4 pack ($125) - Captain Rex ($22.99) - Commander Wolff ($22.99) - General Grievous ($29.99) - Mace Windu ($22.99) - Battle droid (19.99) - Imperial shocktrooper ($22.99) .............I sold all of them and now look at the prices 😭 literally all either doubled or tripled in value

I was really surprised to see how low of a price the Royal Guard goes for. I wanted to get one or two back when he came out but I never saw one in stores (I didn't order online much then). I'll definitely be picking up at least 2 some day and some of these prices are crazy too! Awesome and hilarious video. (EDIT) Oh and man the distribution of exclusives must be really bad in some places (or supply isn't meeting demand). I never found Wolffe when he came out, and I checked all around for a while. Last year when I heard about Fox I hunted him down on Triple Force Friday and was lucky enough to find him. I had no idea that he was a shared exclusive and wouldn't end up being as costly as some of the other commanders. So many of these prices just make no sense. Additionally it's really nice that Gree got a rerelease (and is still available for pre-order on BBTS) because I hunted him down back in the day (to no avail) and he was going for a lot then.

I think I got the last 000 at GameStop in my state for retail right before they went extinct. I passed on the Clone General Obi-wan at first and then just happened to find one months later at a random backwoods town.
Oh lordy, I have two sets of those Clone Troopers all out of their boxes - both cost me a lot less than the RRP (here in the UK) and I only got the second set so that Cody, Rex and Gree (at the time) could pose on my shelf with similar coloured troopers.
The imperial shadow squadron set that was a target exclusive goes for crazy money And then you got the gamestop purge troopers Holy cow they are going fir $149 on Amazon now and almost $ 200 for the ones with the mis printed boxes

The one that shocked me was the Amazon Palpatine with throne. For a while they seemed to have an abundance of them, and then they went on sale for like half off (that's when I got mine). Then I took a break from collecting for a few months and when I came back I saw that they go for over $100 easily.
As a completist, Yes I have at least one of everything so far in case fresh boxes, the clone pack is ridiculously valued high, but in part of because people have that mentality like yourself, (not a bad thing) "I'll get it later, it won't go anywhere!", I had a chance to buy two extra a little over retail at a comic book shop here local and thought "Ehh, I have one, that's good enough...", I could pay most of my rent if I sold those two today. LoL. I've been at the 6 inch game since day one, and my mentality is "Get It Now, when you can!"

I think the new Attack of the Clones wave will rise in value in the immediate future, except for maybe Anakin, and Plo Koon who are two to a case. However, everything that we’re going to see raise significantly in value will be from the Clone Wars season 7, and the Mandolarian.

I continued with the current VC line in 2010 to the end (115+11 exclusives?) I lose count :). I added variants (All Revenge carded) So that is over 160 carded and AFA graded figures. All that takes up a lot of space especially when they are AFA cased. 15 long comic boxes? I might have missed some? So you get an idea. I have to say that I did get a lot signed even by Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, David Prowse, Billy Dee Williams, John Morton, Paul Blake, Chris Parsons, Catherine Munroe, Julian Glover, Mark Dodson, Tim Rose, Maria De Aragon, Alan Harris and Bill Hargreaves (not sure if that's all?)

I haven't been able to find Bly, but it's hard to blame Hasbro or even stores for that wave being distributed poorly considering it came out at the height of a global pandemic. My Walmart gets everything and even they didn't get that or the Mandalorian TVC wave. I just hope the AotC wave is distributed better.
yup we will see, but Im pretty sure that the situation is only slightly affected by the pandemic, it started before the pandemic and is progressively getting worse, and i bet that the AOTC wave will be hard to find, as will the waves after it. i mean, after that is the phase 4 wave so i bet that none of those will be pegwarmers, at least not at the beginning
I was at a pretty renown toystore near me probably two months ago. This was right when Bly was really hot. They had him for $30. BUT right next to him they had an Old Man Luke for $60.... Prices were all over the place there. Made no sense.
Walgreens Obi-Wan Clone Commander - EVERY Walgreens near me had at least five, HOWEVER, none were ever on the shelves, I had to ask for them and they were stashed in the back room. Earlier this year I went to a Target that STILL had Snoke, Rose and Holdo clogging the pegs, asked if they had any figures in the stock room and was told, "Oh, we have a TON of them in the back, but we can't put them out until we sell the ones on the shelves." (facepalm)

I had to ask for my commander wolf vintage at target and it was stashed in the back, I got told by one of my lcs owner friends who know a couple of guys doing this that a lot of scalpers have been getting jobs at target and walmart and such as branch managers and shit so they can buy up the valuable figures before they even hit the brick and mortar.

Now maybe this is far fetched but hear me out. If you received a damaged obi-wan in the mail from walgreens. Why not buy the undamaged Obi Wan at full price, drive to another walgreens and then return the damaged Obi-Wan saying "My friend didnt want the damaged one." Then get that full price Obi-Wan money back. I know its a bit much but hey, you get that clean undamaged obiwan. That's what I would do.

I walked around the store with the Real Ghostbusters animated show firehouse boxset. It was $140 so I thought I’d shop around. I went home and Amazon on my phone had shown it but they were all sold out. I went back to the store and it was gone. The clerk said theyd been recalled. I went online again suddenly and every listing wanted $700. Sony still never released all the shows, just some of them, each time a new film comes out. The single disks they give are $5 at Walmart but good luck finding them. They’re probably in the pet food department..

i was just at walgreens today, and saw finn 01 and 2 gyn erso for 19.99 still. i have already complained to the manager once. today i just puffed on my juul mask-less while reading magazines to see how long it would take for an employee to tell me to stop. they never did.

Black series collecting has got to the most confusing hobby ive gotten into. Even buying sneakers is simpler than this. Like one day theres no black series in my walmart. Then not even a day later, they restocked and sold out. Wtf?
I actually have a question for you, so regarding number 1, I have a Black Series Order 66 box that I bought for $88 back then. But when I got the box I have it with two of the same figure. I have another 501st clone trooper where the shock trooper is supposed to be. The box for the shock trooper has the image and everything but the figure is a 501st clone trooper. So my question is, was there a mistake with this set of figures during production that you or anyone knows of or it was a common occurrence? I have not seen another like it. It was like during packaging instead of putting in the plastic mold that held the shock trooper that a mistake was made and a 501st clone trooper was slotted in instead. I have not open any of the boxes and have shown it a couple of times and kept all figures inside the box to keep them as mint as possible.

When I had looked at it it didn’t look like anything was tampered around the shock trooper box. I would show images of it but I currently have it packed away because I am in the process of moving.

I was really surprised to see how low of a price the Royal Guard goes for. I wanted to get one or two back when he came out but I never saw one in stores (I didn't order online much then). I'll definitely be picking up at least 2 some day and some of these prices are crazy too! Awesome and hilarious video. (EDIT) Oh and man the distribution of exclusives must be really bad in some places (or supply isn't meeting demand). I never found Wolffe when he came out, and I checked all around for a while. Last year when I heard about Fox I hunted him down on Triple Force Friday and was lucky enough to find him. I had no idea that he was a shared exclusive and wouldn't end up being as costly as some of the other commanders. So many of these prices just make no sense. Additionally it's really nice that Gree got a rerelease (and is still available for pre-order on BBTS) because I hunted him down back in the day (to no avail) and he was going for a lot then.
yea the royal guard was hard to find and was over retail for a while. I remember seeing him back down to $20 again and noting that the price dropped back down to retail. yea I'm surprised that fox and gree arent more expensive for sure

The one that shocked me was the Amazon Palpatine with throne. For a while they seemed to have an abundance of them, and then they went on sale for like half off (that's when I got mine). Then I took a break from collecting for a few months and when I came back I saw that they go for over $100 easily.

As a completist, Yes I have at least one of everything so far in case fresh boxes, the clone pack is ridiculously valued high, but in part of because people have that mentality like yourself, (not a bad thing) "I'll get it later, it won't go anywhere!", I had a chance to buy two extra a little over retail at a comic book shop here local and thought "Ehh, I have one, that's good enough...", I could pay most of my rent if I sold those two today. LoL. I've been at the 6 inch game since day one, and my mentality is "Get It Now, when you can!"

I continued with the current VC line in 2010 to the end (115+11 exclusives?) I lose count :). I added variants (All Revenge carded) So that is over 160 carded and AFA graded figures. All that takes up a lot of space especially when they are AFA cased. 15 long comic boxes? I might have missed some? So you get an idea. I have to say that I did get a lot signed even by Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, David Prowse, Billy Dee Williams, John Morton, Paul Blake, Chris Parsons, Catherine Munroe, Julian Glover, Mark Dodson, Tim Rose, Maria De Aragon, Alan Harris and Bill Hargreaves (not sure if that's all?)

I haven't been able to find Bly, but it's hard to blame Hasbro or even stores for that wave being distributed poorly considering it came out at the height of a global pandemic. My Walmart gets everything and even they didn't get that or the Mandalorian TVC wave. I just hope the AotC wave is distributed better.
yup we will see, but Im pretty sure that the situation is only slightly affected by the pandemic, it started before the pandemic and is progressively getting worse, and i bet that the AOTC wave will be hard to find, as will the waves after it. i mean, after that is the phase 4 wave so i bet that none of those will be pegwarmers, at least not at the beginning
I was at a pretty renown toystore near me probably two months ago. This was right when Bly was really hot. They had him for $30. BUT right next to him they had an Old Man Luke for $60.... Prices were all over the place there. Made no sense.

Walgreens Obi-Wan Clone Commander - EVERY Walgreens near me had at least five, HOWEVER, none were ever on the shelves, I had to ask for them and they were stashed in the back room. Earlier this year I went to a Target that STILL had Snoke, Rose and Holdo clogging the pegs, asked if they had any figures in the stock room and was told, "Oh, we have a TON of them in the back, but we can't put them out until we sell the ones on the shelves." (facepalm)

I had to ask for my commander wolf vintage at target and it was stashed in the back, I got told by one of my lcs owner friends who know a couple of guys doing this that a lot of scalpers have been getting jobs at target and walmart and such as branch managers and shit so they can buy up the valuable figures before they even hit the brick and mortar.

God the frustration of driving to Walgreens 40 miles from my house for a prototype Boba Fett... I walked around the store with the Real Ghostbusters animated show firehouse boxset. It was $140 so I thought I’d shop around. I went home and Amazon on my phone had shown it but they were all sold out. I went back to the store and it was gone. The clerk said theyd been recalled. I went online again suddenly and every listing wanted $700. Sony still never released all the shows, just some of them, each time a new film comes out. The single disks they give are $5 at Walmart but good luck finding them. They’re probably in the pet food department..

Black series collecting has got to the most confusing hobby ive gotten into. Even buying sneakers is simpler than this. Like one day theres no black series in my walmart. Then not even a day later, they restocked and sold out. Wtf?
I actually have a question for you, so regarding number 1, I have a Black Series Order 66 box that I bought for $88 back then. But when I got the box I have it with two of the same figure. I have another 501st clone trooper where the shock trooper is supposed to be. The box for the shock trooper has the image and everything but the figure is a 501st clone trooper. So my question is, was there a mistake with this set of figures during production that you or anyone knows of or it was a common occurrence? I have not seen another like it. It was like during packaging instead of putting in the plastic mold that held the shock trooper that a mistake was made and a 501st clone trooper was slotted in instead. I have not open any of the boxes and have shown it a couple of times and kept all figures inside the box to keep them as mint as possible.
hmm thats interesting, could it have possibly been a return where the person who originally bought it took the shock trooper out and replaced it with a 501st trooper?

I’d have to track it down through Amazon if anything and see but I’m not sure how far back Amazon would allow me to go on my purchase history. It’s been years since I have obtain it. When I had looked at it it didn’t look like anything was tampered around the shock trooper box. I would show images of it but I currently have it packed away because I am in the process of moving.
