A typical smartphone battery requires 3.7 to 4.2 volts to charge, so you would need at least 4-6 potato batteries connected in series to generate enough voltage to charge a mobile phone. if you want to power an LED light, one or two potatoes would be sufficient. However, if you want to charge a mobile phone, you would need many more potato batteries connected in series
