If you view UA-cam using the UA-cam app on an iOS device the join button will not show up. But using Geoff’s link above opens UA-cam in an internet browser which will show you the join button..
If you're watching on a TV (like @WorldlyNonsense), summon the playbar and navigate up to the picture of Geoff (will say Channel above it when highlighted). Press select/OK and a sidebar should appear with Subscribe(d), Join and Go to channel. Hit the middle one and you'll get a QR code you can scan with a phone or device to complete the rest on there (best do it on one where you're already signed into Google services for ease of use)
Absolutely delighted to do this Geoff. Found you partway through all the stations. Went back and watched all your stuff on Londonist and your American stuff. Your videos are informative, entertaining and so well put together. You have such a talent. Still love to ride the metrolink with you some day but you already have a northern correspondent
I'm so happy you've got to this point. Your videos have an extra level of class and quality. No second guessing or deliberating needed for this decision- I'm off to join.
I will be joining from the Netherlands. Been following you since the tube challenge days and the content has been getting better and better. Love to see more of it!
Geoff, As a massive fan of yours for many years and after meeting you at Ashley Down, I am more than happy to become a member! Keep making high quality videos and thank you for making so much entertaining content!
Geoff, I cannot even begin to tell you how much your videos make me smile. I commented on your video where you sat at Canary Wharf on the Liz Line and opened up and I talked about my OCD, but I've been a watcher for years and have learned so much from you and also the community that you have built up. It's well worth a few quid of anyones money but especially mine. Thank you for all you do for us all.
Please consider doing Patreon as well as the UA-cam membership. Google makes plenty of revenue already with my premium membership. I’d prefer to support via a separate channel.
Happy to join Geoff, you have been interesting and entertaining me with your videos for about 10 years now (not to mention the fantastic Hidden London Highgate tour you did which I was on a few years ago!) Good luck with your new membership scheme, I look forward to your first exclusive content
I'm with you that there's a place long-form content. I have this on in the background while I'm working, and I don't want to be leaning over to change the videos every minute or so. Although I'll likely stick to the regular videos, I hope everything goes well with your membership tier.
I'm going to certainly join, Geoff! I discovered your channel/All the Stations in late 2019, so you basically provided me with my sanity during lockdown, watching all of your back catalogue certainly helped me get through it. And from your channel I discovered many of your friend's channels, providing me with even more content to get me through that tough period. Thanks for your work Geoff!
Geoff I started in the middle of All The Stations and became hooked on your video format and story telling. I'm very grateful to have found your channel years ago and I'm proud to become a member! Keep up the great stuff! Best wishes from NYC!
The new DART units for Dublin are a major step forward, combining OLE and rechargeable battery power sources, brining the rapid transit system to areas not already served because of our lack of electrification. They look like impressive units from Alstom, so your video is eagerly anticipated. I only wish that someone had thought of making the LUAS infrastructure the same gauge as the Irish Rail network and then we could have proper integration.
Hi Geoff! Joined from Washington DC. Your videos always give me a sense of relaxation after a busy day, while I ride my own train home from school and get to enjoy one of your wonderful videos. I am very excited to see what this feature holds! Thanks!!
I've been with you since the Londonist days, and am very happy to support you, as you have supported all of us with your videos. Looking forward to more long form content too!
Hugely nostalgic. As a child of the 70's and having grand parents who lived in Petts Wood, I loved walking through the woods and over all the bridges to watch the trains. Quiet and peaceful and a lot of fun. I named the bridge (I was 6 or 7 I guess) that crossed the railway at the top of the Queensway, the "Holerums" as it is an enclosed metal fence bridge, full of holes. Thanks for transporting me back 50+ years.
Back in early July I was off watching people drive entirely too quickly at Silverstone. During that time we had both an in-depth yet brief chat about this very thing (via Twitter DMs) just after you had posted your original video about Channel Memberships and such. I am very glad you decided to go ahead with it after your initial misgivings! I have seen people who really enjoy your content all over the place in other communities that have little to do with trains, transport or infrastructure and the amount of love for your work is vast! It is my firm belief and hope that people who can will get behind you and better enable you to make more of the unashamedly nerdy, well produced content that people enjoy!
Im a long time fan as well and didnt hesitate to support. I have learned so much and built so much appreciation. From the west coast of the US I have grown to be a huge fan of the Underground, its beautiful design and history. I will always have a great desire to just jump on a train and roll along.
Joined. I like many discovered you on All The Stations and 100% happy to spend some monthly money on your content - its so interesting and educational.
Geoff, even as an American whos only ever riden the Underground and the trains around London, I'm very happy to support you. Love your videos and learning about the rail system.
If you’re back here some time, Penzance to Paddington (at least the early part) is beautiful, at least looking south from a window seat. Of course, for train nerds, National Rail Museum and Locomotion, as well as preserved railways, may be more fun.
Been watching you for around 6 years or so! I've given to you before via ko-fi and always wanted to support you a little more so a UA-cam membership is something that I'd love to be a part of! Just joined!
Geoff, you just jumped to the top of the list of creators whom I'll support financially as soon as I have a regular income again. Keep making great content!
Hi Geoff, I'm really excited to see the bonus videos! Your long-form content has always been fantastic, and I'm so glad you took this massive step forward. By the way, I spoke to Northern Press Office and they said that *when* the Northumberland Line's opening date is announced, they will make sure I'm on the list of people invited for the press trip. Great times!
Your videos have been a part of my life for over ten years now, so to be able to give back to you after that time is brilliant! My partner and I bond over a shared love of your videos so I look forward to sugardaddying them with the bonus content.
ive been watching you for as long as i can remember Geoff! about 9 years or so, since i was 3 or 4, i will definitely be spending my money on this. Thanks Geoff for making me smile every time i watch your videos!
Geoff, I have watched your videos for many years, since the Londonist and your content got my interested in the tube, and has only added to my interest in trains. I now work on the railway and a lot of that has to do with your least used stations series and your all the stations mission/series. This is the first membership I've bought and easily the fastest I've decided on it. Thank you for all of your content over the years
Love your vids, have watched for so many years now. Also agree with your disdain for TikTok/shorts. I’d much rather sit and be engaged in a 5,10,30 minute video than endlessly swiping through shorts!
Hi Geoff, I love watching your videos and completely agree longer form is the way to go, yes there’s space for shorts but I enjoy relaxing watching your content, it’s always informative and fun, when someone loves what they do, as you clearly do, it’s a pleasure for everyone and really pleased there’s such a community following you and engaging. 👏
I fully intend on becoming a member very soon, because honestly, if it weren't for you and a few other creators on this platform, I wouldn't be where I'm at when it comes to what I want from a career and such. It's your content that made me sure about wanting a career on the railways, which I'm now very much in the process of working towards, be it through customer support, driving, station work, or much like yourself, media and internet content on the railways. You've been a massive inspiration to me, Geoff and I'm absolutely going to support once I am able to, just for being such an influence on what I want from life, so thank you too!! :))
Definitely the way to go. As an ex-Londoner now living in Australia, I was aways searching for videos about the area I used to live and I found your channel through The Londonist. Never had any interest in trains or train stations before, but now I look forward to every video.
I think having channel memberships is a great idea, especially when you have a lovely and enthusiastic community. People are willing to give you money to see more of you, it's a win win situation!
Hi Geoff, if you get time when in Ireland, the line from Limerick to Foynes is currently being rebuilt for reopening. Initially just freight from the harbour at Foynes but it is expected passenger traffic will follow. DM me if you want more info
As I said in your vid 4 month ago thank you for visiting and making a video in my hometown and at the bridge I have so many memories with my late dad still ain't used to the new bridge oh and it was a no brainer joining the channel
Think it's the right time and you have the price point right. I don't have any youtube memberships but I'll be signing up with you. Have been a freelancer before and have previously worked in broadcasting and media so I know what it's like, I think it's totally reasonable to have a premium tier.
Good luck with the Channel Memberships thing Geoff. I don't have the money to spare myself, but I hope it helps you. Don't forget that there is also a "Members First" option you can do for videos, where your channel members get early access to a video, but you still can release it publicly later. It might be worth you considering that option for some of your videos. You could maybe even do the live chat thing with your channel members, and chat to them while the video premiers and for some time afterwards and then have the non-members watch the video later on. (And you can nuke the live chat or leave it in, depending on what works best for you.) Anyhoo, I hope you find the right combo that works for you and your supporters.
A few months ago I visited England for the first time and I knew so much more about the transportsystem in London/England than about piblic transport in my own country. I actually managed to impres my girlfried with my knowledge of the Elizabeth line (believe it or not...). Thank you so much for all the great content Geoff❤!
I think social media should go the way of membership fees. For individual channels and/or for being a member of the social network in general. The current business model of income through views and subscribers encourages creating controversy for controversy sake. People post something that is controversial, incorrect, or conspiratorial, and everyone who views the content and responds in disagreement contributes to that poster's revenue. It keeps dividing us more and more.
I probably won't become a member yet, but I will still watch you long form videos as they are really good! You do deserve all those subscribers and soon to be members!
Great idea, happy that normal videos will stay and that you seem to be taking this quite well. I will always keep watching your video, and looking forward to the DART video already 😊
I don't comment often, but it's a lovely channel with top quality content. I've learned a lot too. Keep up the great work and hope your membership is a success!
It's great to become a member and help in a small way to support the channel , thanks for all the great videos you put out , i have learned a lot through them , also thanks for being so honest about your mental health issues in the past to and saying it's ok not to be ok , looking forward to the future vlogs , cheers
Hi Geoff, I've been watching you for 11 years on Londonist and now this channel. I really apricate the content that you make and upload. Looking forward to becoming a member shortly! : )
Like many here Geoff I’ve been watching since the Londonist podcasts. Your videos and series are exceptional, interesting and above all great entertainment for an IT geek who loves trains! I’ve signed up for membership because i think you are on to something doing longer form, high quality videos and I’m all for that!
I'm 18, nearly 19, and I've been watching your channel since I was about 12. It's amazing to see how you've grown over the years and your content has changed. I'm really glad you've introduced channel memberships.
As long as we all be seeing you posting more videos of new trains and new railway stations. And of other rail projects such as HS2 and Crossrail 2. And to see you get to 500k subscribers as well 😊
Geoff I have been watching since Londonist and your Secrets of the Canals. I think it is brilliant how your channel has grown! You once met one of my friends in the West Midlands back in 2017, hopefully one day we will meet. Your channel is enjoyable and informative It is is your videos that inspired me to do UA-cam as before, I used to just video and photograph trains for myself and never thought to share it until 2023. I have recordings from East Midlands Trains, Werry Lines 37s, Virgin Trains and Arriva but never thought to upload and share them. Thank you for inspiring me to share my own trainspotting footage. I never miss a Geoff Marshall video.
This man has been making British train videos (and even a video about how to make the perfect tea) since who knows when and he doesn’t even have 1M subs yet. HOW!
I once naively thought that people made UA-cam videos because they wanted to share their interest in a subject or share their expertise and teach others. Now I see that it’s a money making endeavour and being a UA-camr is a job like any other. It came as a surprise that individuals are making a living out of uploading content. I don’t begrudge anyone trying to recoup their costs in making videos but it does seem that we’ve come a long way from where UA-cam began.
Although I left the UK in 1980 I still enjoy watching your videos. I try to get home as often as I can but never have a chance to take any trains, only London buses!
Fellow YT’r … but only just trying it out … but been watching this Channel for years now and some Londonista stuff too … I just enjoy watching Mr Marshall to get away from the political garbage that I watch on here, especially with the current mob in charge … so this channel lets me go into the world of sanity again plus the enthusiasm of someone who clearly loves what he does but understands what the viewers want to actually know … membership now done and I’m glad I could help out … Regards
Great idea Geoff and I'm happy to have subscribed. My favourite channel on UA-cam, so that makes it easier too :) Always excellent quality video and content. Keep them coming
Very happy to support you and this channel, Geoff. Every video is interesting, personable, and polished. They're a lovely place to spend time. Speaking personally, I don't need a million bonus things, and I wouldn't be put out by any changes to the channel schedule. As long as the work is enjoyable and sustainable for you, that's the main thing. Creator burnout is real! PS this feels like a good way to apologise for the one time I said hello in public - you were recovering from a run and it was a badly-chosen moment (cringes). Take care, and I hope this plan is a success!
Love your videos Geoff! Have been a fan since Londonist and secrets of the underground. Always look forward to your videos, they seem to always get even better each video.
FYI Geoff there's a join button on a TV by clicking your profile while playing your video. However when clicking join on a TV you get a 'something went wrong' error Thanks for the continuing great videos.
Hey Geoff, just wanted to say that your videos remind me of the calm and beauty of the UK (even in London), which i experienced as a child, and now sorely miss in a country overseas. Thank you :)
Damn that was quick! Edit: Please be careful with youtube's membership function, you've probably heard that youtube takes a cut from the fee charged for the membership (I think it was around 30% last time I checked). Alternatives such as patreon take between 5 and 20%, or so I've heard. I'd recommend at least offering the latter option so that we know more of our money is going directly to supporting you rather than another megacorporation taking more than their fair share... Looking forward to the DART video!
You're the boss of UK trains UA-cam Geoff. I and, many other long-time watchers love you, your character and your videos. I would be honored to continue watching your quality content in my spare time and knowing that I'm going the extra mile to support you. Membership inbound !

@@geofftech2 Nice Vid???
I’ve been watching you since your Londonist days, Geoff. It’s an honour being a member of your channel! Thank you for making these amazing videos!

Geoff,
As a massive fan of yours for many years and after meeting you at Ashley Down, I am more than happy to become a member!
I’d prefer to support via a separate channel.
agree
I object to Patreon because I have to pay a currency conversion charge although the payee is in England.
I may be a lurker, but I've been a fan for years. You're certainly worth the price of a coffee a month.
Happy to join Geoff, you have been interesting and entertaining me with your videos for about 10 years now (not to mention the fantastic Hidden London Highgate tour you did which I was on a few years ago!) Good luck with your new membership scheme, I look forward to your first exclusive content

I’m surprised you hadn’t done this before. I’ll look to join very soon 👍🏻
Geoff I started in the middle of All The Stations and became hooked on your video format and story telling. I'm very grateful to have found your channel years ago and I'm proud to become a member! Keep up the great stuff! Best wishes from NYC!
Congratulations on starting memberships! High time because you drop quality content.
aah! you always leave me nice comments .. thank you, and that's very kind of you!
@ It’s only because you’ve been doing such a good job for many years as well as fostering a lovely community.
Geoff I'm 11 nearly 12 I started UA-cam yesterday and Ive been watching you sice I was 4 I've been watching you for 7 years
So pleased you're doing this Geoff and very happy to support! My son is eager I pass on a tip: Arnos Grove viaduct. Thanks again for all the videos.
I see it as an honour to be a member of your UA-cam Channel.
I never thought I’d see the day…
Geoff talking about rolling stock rather than the network, connectivity and infrastructure 😂
true

I'm sure they did think about it but just decided not to use 5 foot three. There were many comments about it at the time.

Happy to support. I was just over in London this weekend and, while riding the Tube, kept being reminded of your videos.

You are a one of a kind a man who inspires in your own way and inspirational for all a joy to watch for many years

Looking forward to all the new stuff!
Absolutely no brainer for me to join, been a long time watcher so happy to be able to support the channel.
Geoff, I'm seriously considering becoming a member. Your small corner of the Internet is definitely worth it

Followed your videos for years, very happy to become a member and support your videos further.
Hi Geoff,
I've been watching you for 11 years on Londonist and now this channel.
I really apricate the content that you make and upload. Looking forward to becoming a member shortly! : )
Amazing! I will definitely join! Sounds great!
Your videos are awesome and living in south london, can’t beLieve I never ran into you. Great video
Like many here Geoff I’ve been watching since the Londonist podcasts. Your videos and series are exceptional, interesting and above all great entertainment for an IT geek who loves trains! I’ve signed up for membership because i think you are on to something doing longer form, high quality videos and I’m all for that!
yours will be the first channel I will 'join', and perhaps the only one. Thank you for making these amazing videos!
Your channel is enjoyable and informative
It is is your videos that inspired me to do UA-cam as before, I used to just video and photograph trains for myself and never thought to share it until 2023.
I have recordings from East Midlands Trains, Werry Lines 37s, Virgin Trains and Arriva but never thought to upload and share them.
Thank you for inspiring me to share my own trainspotting footage.
I never miss a Geoff Marshall video.
You finally make it to my local station, and I learn it's where you started!
Happy to support as I've been watching since the time of All Tube Stations Have Fifteen Floors
Good luck with the future Geoff. It was always coming and we don’t blame you.
This man has been making British train videos (and even a video about how to make the perfect tea) since who knows when and he doesn’t even have 1M subs yet. HOW!
Love your videos Geoff and definitely happy to support the channel and all your amazing content and hard work 🎉
I once naively thought that people made UA-cam videos because they wanted to share their interest in a subject or share their expertise and teach others.
I am astonished you are a one man band, incredible.
thanks David, all me - yes! Shoot, edit, produce, design ... etc
Hi Geoff, I watch UA-cam on TV and can confirm viewers can join by clicking on your channel icon
Love your videos Geoff! Have been a fan since Londonist and secrets of the underground. Always look forward to your videos, they seem to always get even better each video.
Fair play to you Geoff. I don't really do the Member/Patreon thing but i totally get why you want to do it after hearing your plans.
Great videos from you on this channel Geoff so please keep them coming!
Really interesting thoughts Geoff… got me thinking! 😉 Best of luck with the new strand.
All The Stations and All The Stations Ireland supporter checking in and now a member. Love your content Geoff
FYI Geoff there's a join button on a TV by clicking your profile while playing your video. However when clicking join on a TV you get a 'something went wrong' error
Thanks for the continuing great videos.
woah, ok! if you try it from Web / Phone /Tablet, what happens then?
@@geofftech2 Sorry all good from all non tv devices Geoff. 😎
Done Geoff!! Looking forward to the new content. Be back in London soon & looking to continue my own end of the line challenge
Membership inbound !
well that's very kind of you Kailash, thank you!
