I just watched your Utrecht video (as I live in Utrecht) and in that video you mentioned something about discussing rave culture. Then I got recommended this video about liquicity, where I also went to :). Liquicity is amazing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Liquicity is another level when it comes to people taking care of eachother at a music festival. It's the only one I return to without thinking twice, and it gets better year after year because the organisers take all feedback to heart. It's by far the best festival in my opinion!
Hey Joel, it's just great to see and hear you're having a good time in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 We work to live life. And enjoy life as much as possible. I'm so happy for you that you are able to experience this feeling. This is how we Dutch do it. Enjoy
Good reflections! I don’t think it’s solely Dutch vibe but actually a European vibe! Happy you felt safe and enjoyed your visit! ❤ Bring this knowledge back to the states so Americans can begin to understand that a society should WORK TOGETHER!! ❤much love from Sweden.
No way you were at Liquicity! It’s near my hometown more north, but I do agree the vibe and people looking out for eachother is the reason why I started to love dnb and their community for the past 5 years
looks like an amazing festival! and regarding "this is not tomorrowland or glastonbury" - the smaller the festival, the more authentic the crowd and the artists. the super large festivals are even frowned upon by parts of the respective communities for that reason. so nothing wrong with it being smaller, you can have the best time at small ones with 1 tent and maybe 200 people.
Been twice to liquicity festival (full weekends both of them), the vibe is just magical. Everyone there is just vibing and making memories for life. Been to loads of festivals but Liquicity Festival is special. I am glad you had a blast, hopefully someday youll be back (perhaps for a full weekender) :) Gr a dutchy and a huge dnb fan!
You're growing mate, learning... that's it. That's the point, going abroad, close to music! Try summer festivals in France, Spain, you'll find your next chapter, a new level ;)🇫🇷
Last week I went to reggae lake. My brother liked drum&Bass. I didn't know this festival. I went to Lowlands and Pinkpop when i was younger. So glad you liked it.
Liquicity is a different breed, we’re all there for music and vibes. Take care of one another. I got tickets for two days, ended up getting someone’s weekend armband. It was awesome, one of the best experiences in my life yet. I went with someone that could only stay one day, ended up in a tentcamp with loads of new friends, we have new trips planned :)
I’m a Brit that lived in Haarlem for 4 years before covid times.. Luminosity, Awakenings, ADE, Defqon, lots of amazing festivals but also lots of amazing clubs, Panama, Air, Gashouder!
Hertog Jan literally translates to Duke John, it's reasonably good beer. Even if the food quality is a lot better than in the US, avoid McDonalds at all cost. Regular 'snackbars' generally have much more choice and tastier fast food. The 'social' aspect is an important factor of a social democracy, people do look out for eachother. It seems like your soul feels more at home in the Netherlands. 😉 Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing
Great choice of festival, I didn't expect you to go to LF! I couldn't go this year, but I've been to Liquicity Festival last year and the year before that. I'm planning on going next year as well. Hello Joel. At your age you should be having some fun like this. Good you got to put the camera down for bit. Good you picked it up for the video too and showed Netherlands having fun.
I love going to rock/metal concerts. Totally different vibe, I know. But in the end, the same outcome. People are friendly, watch out for each other. You're all there to share your love for the same music and the same scene. Last band I saw was All Them Witches from Nashville, Tenn, Beautiful people, awesome vibe. Good to see you had a good time.
Nice to see you seemed to have a good time. Happy that you limited your filming and allowed yourself to just be. I would recommend Roskilde festival in Denmark. The largest music festival amongst the Nordic nations, 130.000 attend. If you want to consider to go next year then please be aware of when tickets sales open. They sell out fast. The 130.000 are a self chosen limit, they could sell the double. Doors open for the pre festival 1 week before the festival area in itself opens and many enjoy that week as well. There are pop up scenes during that week as well. It´s a peace love and harmony festival that embraces many music genres over countless stages and events takes place throughout. The largest music names have and continue to, attend this festival that also have huge main stages for it. Roskilde festival (less than an hour from Copenhagen airport) are not just a music festival but a "stage of mind". Denmark have countless festivals and many of them in nature, even in forests. Perfect for the bright Scandinavian summer nights. Look online for them and remember that most of them sells out fast so you need to buy tickets as sales opens.
Great seeing you along with friends enjoy yourself Joel. Netherlands is lovely, so many tall people there too as it's the tallest nation in europe apparently

Check out Noisily Festival in England next summer. Tickets still available. I’ve been to loads of them. There is a small drum and bass stage but there’s 8 different stages and it’s all amazing!
Got this in my recommendations and clicked on it, definitely not expecting a dnb festival, thinking that looks oddly familiar until i heard the music and said it must be liquicity 😁 happy to see it was! Liquicity and Let it Roll are by far the best festivals i been too. Love our dnb community. Best community ❤️
As a Dutchie I've been to several festivals, just never a drum & bass/hardcore one. I always thought they were filled with people taking too much harddrugs and being nasty. Really nice to hear everyone being so friendly! If you want to experience a bigger festival, I suggest going to Lowlands next year, or maybe Pinkpop, although Lowlands has more to see and experience with more stages etc. Down the Rabbithole is nice too, or Best Kept Secret.
It was my first time on a techno festival in Netherlands, i went to Awakenings. it was a very big festival with many tents and famous djs was really fun, but what stood out for me is booth for drug testing, not that drug testing but to test if the mdma acid whatever you have is pure and safe to consume, they know people will take drugs and it's hard to stop that on a festival but it's amazing that they provide that service no judgement they even tell you how much you should take and what you shouldnt do, or if your drug is a pure thing. Its crazy for me coming from an asian country that's so strict with drugs😅😂
So funny you go to McDonalds and buy wrapped sandwiches in the supermarket. If you want to experience Dutch food, please try something else than you're used to in the US. Change the way you think about food. Buy some fresh bread and some fresh dips or spreads or filet american or brie/camembert or some herb butter and enjoy that in the park with some beer. Still cheap, but much more fresh and more flavour. Eat some Dutch pancakes with stroop or get a snack out of the wall (kroket or frikadel or bamischijf). Just do something different....😊.
I went to the UK for the Gunnersbury Park music festival...(Aug10/11th)....Thats was amazing....The USA doesn't really have that many music festivals....but most people are just trying to get selfies of themselves there...and not paying attention to the music and vibes. Its sad. But You should consider Gunnersbury Park next summer. Its pretty cool.
If you come over to the uk next year check out boomtown or dnb allstars festival. Boomtown is over 4 days and expensive but dnb allstars is all day and only 60 quid
the small cars (we call them 45 km cars because they're limited to 45 km/h, 28 mph, or 'brommobiel', 'hum mobile') you see in the netherlands are popular amongst elderly and other people who for whatever reason can't have a regular driver's license for car or motorcycle. They require only a scooter license, but they still allow people to easily transfer in the Dutch weather ;)
You have to try the Reggae Jam Festival in Bersenbrück in Germany next year. It has been voted the most popular Festival by Festival visitors for many years. The people are happy and friendly. One Love vibe. I have tried many festivals but that one is really great.
Joel if you like the dutch and the germans than you should visit the danish as well. I as a German I liked the Roskilde Festival best. My advice: At your age experience the fun of festivals. Only record once in a while and be in the moment. Cause thats what it is all about! You will recall all these moment whithout a digital divice later in your life - what a magic is that... 😜
As an old doll i smiled all through your concert. I hope you had as much fun as we did in the 60's and 70's festivals. . it looked like you did. Although i think our music was more iconic lolll
There are so many to choose from in Europe. Graspop (heavy metal /rock/punk) pukkelpop ( more pop music with drum and bass thrown in) to summerbreeze , wacken, hellfest, masters of hardcore... of folk fests where its more folk-like ( going from folk metal, to troubadours to everything in between) to latin summer nights, tomorrowland, dominator, Harmony of hardcore... there are so many festivals over 1000 to choose from and from all kinds of genres. Dutch, Belgian, Germans, Swiss, Italians and Spanish are cool. The French are a hit and a miss. Haven't been to Poland music festivals but basically every country has their own versions

Watching this makes me homesick and fomo. So happy for you that you have been able to experience this in NL. Keep up the nice vids Joel! Feel free to reach out when you are in Brabant!
Dutch have this word: Gezellig! Which means something having fun together, or cozy vibes. This is what you experienced. Because behind that word is also taking care of the others around you. Special on festivals, where a lot of drugs involved. You just take care and watch out for others.

I just watched your Utrecht video (as I live in Utrecht) and in that video you mentioned something about discussing rave culture.
Then I got recommended this video about liquicity, where I also went to :). Liquicity is amazing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see that you're enjoying your time here!
amazing! there are many great techno/electro festivals in Europe, nice to see you enjoy it xD
@@Gnomosapien you're absolutely right oc, I was just in a hurry, thx👍
In the Ntherlands every weekend there are festivals, it is just to enjoy live, having a good and relaced time with each other.
Very chill, love it.❤
Liquicity is another level when it comes to people taking care of eachother at a music festival. It's the only one I return to without thinking twice, and it gets better year after year because the organisers take all feedback to heart. It's by far the best festival in my opinion!
Hey Joel, it's just great to see and hear you're having a good time in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
We work to live life. And enjoy life as much as possible.
I'm so happy for you that you are able to experience this feeling. This is how we Dutch do it. Enjoy
Nice to hear such positive reactions about us.
It's nice to see you walk through Alkmaar, that's my hometown. I'm glad you had a good time here. I like these videos how you experience everything.
I'm not into D&B, but my brother still loves it. Yet, it was good to see so many people enjoying the music, dancing and chilling. Great vibes!
Good reflections! I don’t think it’s solely Dutch vibe but actually a European vibe! Happy you felt safe and enjoyed your visit! ❤
Bring this knowledge back to the states so Americans can begin to understand that a society should WORK TOGETHER!! ❤much love from Sweden.
Just casually watching. Heard liquicity. Instantly hyped. Liquicity is by far my favorite
So happy you’re having a good time and enjoying yourself there.
It's great to see you had a great time there Joel😊❤
No way you were at Liquicity! It’s near my hometown more north, but I do agree the vibe and people looking out for eachother is the reason why I started to love dnb and their community for the past 5 years
hell yeah! nice to see you enjoy liquicity festival. it's always such a vibe
The atmosphere of the music festival was fun and had everyone happily dancing to the steady beat of the music. Thanks for filming 👍👍
Lowlands or Zwarte cross are definitely worth going 2. But the local smaller festivals are also great. Nice to see your enjoying yourself!
looks like an amazing festival! and regarding "this is not tomorrowland or glastonbury" - the smaller the festival, the more authentic the crowd and the artists. the super large festivals are even frowned upon by parts of the respective communities for that reason. so nothing wrong with it being smaller, you can have the best time at small ones with 1 tent and maybe 200 people.
It’s so fun for me as a dutchie to see you film stuff I’ve never considered special lol
Hope to see you at the paprika festival
Great to see Marc again on your blog Joel I hope you both enjoyed the music festival ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Liquicity is a different breed, we’re all there for music and vibes. Take care of one another. I got tickets for two days, ended up getting someone’s weekend armband. It was awesome, one of the best experiences in my life yet. I went with someone that could only stay one day, ended up in a tentcamp with loads of new friends, we have new trips
planned :)
i never heard of that festival, but i think you got lucky visiting this one because it looks dope.
You picked the best festival in the Netherlands! Such a lovely community and vibe
depends - I personally would love to visit DefQon1 ;)
actually not even close :(
I’m a Brit that lived in Haarlem for 4 years before covid times.. Luminosity, Awakenings, ADE, Defqon, lots of amazing festivals but also lots of amazing clubs, Panama, Air, Gashouder!
DNB is fire, hope you have much fun in the Netherlands. Big Up!
Hope you have fun guys. Enjoy.
Great choice of festival, I didn't expect you to go to LF! I couldn't go this year, but I've been to Liquicity Festival last year and the year before that. I'm planning on going next year as well.
I absolutely love it over there! It's one of the best festivals with some the best vibes and crowds I've experienced at a festival. Hope you had a great time! If you did, see you next year ;)
Hello Joel. At your age you should be having some fun like this. Good you got to put the camera down for bit. Good you picked it up for the video too and showed Netherlands having fun.
Purple Disco Maschine playing in 5he background at the supermarket... i love that song ❤
JPS, looks amazing. I spent 23 years there but moved to Vietnam years ago.......amazing Dutch...amazing Balance of work and free time.....
By the way, .......Free Can DEll [ phonetic pronouncetion] Frikandel....
Nice videos man! doing all the Dutch stuff, even a festival! ±D Hope you enjoyed it
My favorite Festival? "Awakenings".🥰 Although it's has been some years ago.
Thanks for your Vid! 👍
I was also happily surprised about the phones Great to see, lookd like like our good old festifal days, when mobile phones did not exist yet ;)
Good to see you out 'n' about, hàving fun, enjoying the music and the vibes.
The Nethetlands look cool and a super place to visit.. I'm glad you felt safe and at ease there... Hope you didnt get too many hangovers though!!
Check out Noisily Festival in England next summer. Tickets still available. I’ve been to loads of them. There is a small drum and bass stage but there’s 8 different stages and it’s all amazing!
very pleased you had a good day
Got this in my recommendations and clicked on it, definitely not expecting a dnb festival, thinking that looks oddly familiar until i heard the music and said it must be liquicity 😁 happy to see it was!
Liquicity and Let it Roll are by far the best festivals i been too. Love our dnb community. Best community ❤️
Loving the vlogs!
Great to see Mac again!
Paprika is not the only taste for chips🤣 there is regular with just salt...Italian taste(bolognese) joppie and a lot more. 👍
If he saw only Paprika, he wasn't looking hard enough. No grocery store in the Netherlands would only carry Paprika.
He knows that it was a joke you don't have to nit pick everything mate...
I think paprika is the most popular flavor, so yes there is a lot of paprika and paprika variations.
@@Ralph_NL I thought paprika chips were a German things, never knew they have them in the NL ;)
@@QuentinPlant Probably a European thing ;-)
The trance capital of the world.
Thank you Holland ! 😍
Its crazy for me coming from an asian country that's so strict with drugs😅😂
in the nineties that was at every party
Love Holland and love the Dutch. Regards from England ❤
That baby blue gray shirt looks great. Perfect color for you😊
If you come over to the uk next year check out boomtown or dnb allstars festival.
D&B fans here are chill indeed. Been to many D&B parties when I was younger. Always chill vibes and people.
Nice to see you visited Alkmaar! Hope you liked it.
Great choice! Everyone at Liquicity is super nice to each other (1 big family). That makes Liquicity unique in that respect. Plus DnB lovers can really party!
Wow, great festival! I love DnB, Jungle and Nero-Funk for 25 years now, hard to dance to but great music. Junglists are the most relaxed people in the world, thanks for sharing!
Great fun, I love Continental Euope musi festivals, when I lived in Germany (several moons ago) I went to plenty and always had a great time. I remember something called Plutonium Fest, that was intersting I met two American Marines at one, the biggest men ive ever met, but two of the nicest people ive ever met.
